  • What is the AppData folder in the user folder?

    Thank you

The Roaming folder is used for the data is copied from/to a server when the user logs on power in a domain environment. This allows the user to access their data from any computer in the domain.

Folders are used to them for data specific to a particular computer. LocalLow is used by programs that run with a low integrity, such as Internet Explorer in protected mode. This is a security feature that prevents the file system is accessible from the Internet.

  • What is the Antiphising folder in Temporary Internet Files?

    Hello!

Can you explain the function of the file Antiphising in Temporary Internet Files and what he presents the .dat file that appears whenever I go into Internet Explorer 11?

    Jeremy

    Hi Jeremy,.

The anti-phishing directory is created when the of Internet Explorer Phishing filter is enabled. If you disable this filter, which is entirely up to you, it will probably disappear. Whatever it is, this isn't anything that will cause harm and in fact, so there is nothing to worry about.

  • What is the system folder?

Why is the empty system folder (local disk: C > windows > system)... I was just tinkering and I noticed this strange problem: /... .my os win 8 help will be appreciated :)

It is supposed to be empty.  The only reason why it's the same, it is just in case some older or poorly constructed programs trying to find it.  Basically, for reasons of compatibility, so old/bad programs don't crash.

There are actually a lot of this in Windows.  For example, years (2006), the 'Documents and Settings' folder has been renamed 'users', because it is easier, not of spaces and other reasons. But some programs are built to search for "Documents and Settings" instead of using the method of detection of the program.  These bad programs would be would break if you installed on another language because (duh) other languages don't misspell the folder the same as in English.  So to try to keep these bad programs to plant, there are all kinds of things like that.

  • What is the extension of the files in the profile folder - file the emails, but not the message .msf file?

I need to recover a lost Inbox (lost due to a failure). The file to the Inbox in the profile folder is somehow cleaned as if the record has been compacted and some new emails have been added. The size of the file is now a few hundred KB when there should be a few hundred MB. I have run a recovery of files on this disc, but now have thousands of files with names like Raw122354 and don't know what to look for, because the Inbox file has no extension. I can remove those with file extensions I don't know, but that still leaves too many to go through.

I guess I should also ask if this is a waste of time, if I have a chance to recover the file?

Messaging files are text files, so yes, you can open them with a text editor. I wouldn't try to open a file of messages Gigabyte with Notepad however.
There is no need to rename the file with a .txt extension, it can be opened with any text editor without worrying.
