  From what you have stated above, I think that the file association for LNK files has been given misdirection to the Media Center. I've seen this happen when opening a program via a shortcut (for example. LNK file), you are asked what type of program to open it with.   Thanks a lot for your help on this. I don't know if this method would work as I finally found a solution after hours of playing with different settings and downloads. For others who are trying, I found that you need the rollup2 update (which I got) If you have this, go to this link www.xbox.co:80 / fr-U.S./PCSetup/MCE05Lite and follow the instructions. I don't know if it works for the extension, however it worked to use my xbox as an Extender.
