What is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit (Full) System Builder DVD 1 Pack?

I want to have Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64 bit. Was looking on amazon, and Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit (Full) System Builder Pack 1 DVD is much cheaper than the others. Is it because it's just the 64-bit version, or is it something completely different?

Thank you!

As far as I know, the System Builder License means that you are supposed to install it on a machine that you sell to a third party.

It is not for end-users.

And if you would have bothered to look at the http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-windows_install/purchasing-windows-7-at-amazoncom-two-similar/28a24d13-4437-453a-bfa2-61119be19ddf related thread you would have seen the answer.

    Re-installing Dell inspiron 19 has windows 7

    People,

I have a Dell Inspiron 19. The Dell of Dell diagnostics disk utilities & drivers say all right. It is a Seagate 320 GB drive. I installed the drive on another computer and used sea tools to erase the disc.  Then I created a partition and marked as "bootable".

When I try to use the Dell reinstallation DVD Windows 7 Home premium SP1 64-bit, it crashes when is about to display the windows logo.  A few pixels logo show and then it's there.  Any ideas?  I worked on it for several days.  Really a "stumper" for me and I did something like that for years!

Original problem seems to be a massive viral infection (owner had no active antivirus software installation!) which led to the non-bootable computer.  After working on this for a while, I decided to just do again it.

I have successfully upgraded to Windows 7 now and went through many updates probably because I was only skillfully to download the 'OLD' ISI sucessfully.  I warned SnaggStuff.com where I bought for the installation DVD and I was told that the license key product, they sent me could be used.  Last night the following message appeared on my screen,

"The product key of Windows 7 Edition Family Premium you typed is invalid for activation", followed by three options:
    Use the automated phone system
Buy a new product key online
    Type a different product key

I warned SnaggStuff requesting their verification or a refund if I have to purchase another license.

Its possible that the license that they sold you was OEM and you have used a .iso of DETAIL to install. If this is the case, you can normally activate by entering the key and activation via the command prompt, see here for more details:

  • Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 - multiple windows program or service failures after Windows Update June 17, 2011

I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (I think that SP1 anyway). Last night June 17, 2011, update of Windows installed an update or updates. Now, Windows Explorer, Internet Explorer, Windows Installer, Windows Sidebar, Panel, Windows Update and other Microsoft programs all fail. I get messages with various error codes. A message is 'class not registered '. I tried a restore to a previous restore point, but apparently the only restore point is the one made after the update. What can I do here? I know that I can always restore the factory image (Dell), but I'd rather not if I can help it.

    Hi doc,

    Method 1:

You can try to repair aStartup if it is included in the system recovery options provided by the manufacturer of the computer or start from the disc for Installation of Windows Vista.

    Startup Repair: frequently asked questions

What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?

    Method 2:

Alternatively, you can try to start a disk check and check.

You can view the following link to perform a disk check:

Check your hard drive for errors

Note: When you run the disk check, there are chances of losing data if you can take a backup of important data before you run checkdisk.

    Hope this information is useful.

    Hello

The following article should be useful. To use system recovery options, you have Vista installation disc. OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) repeatedly will install on the computer Windows recovery environment. To cross check if it is installed, try the following steps.

1 start the computer and press the F8 key continuously to get advanced boot menu options.
    2. on the menu advanced startup options, check if the Startup Repair tool is in the list.
    3. If so, select it and press ENTER.
    4. If not, then you should organize a Vista installation disc.

You may receive error messages when you try to perform a backup operation on a Windows Vista-based computer
