Original title: cannot install Microsoft Entertainment pack on windows 7? Can you help me?
Have the old Microsoft Entetainment pack diskette... Bought a USB floppy drive and tried to load. Received message that the disk is not comnpatable with my Windows 7 operating system. If anyone can help?
The games were made for 16 bits and last years run natively on XP.
If you have Windows 7 Professional, you could install XP Mode and then install the games in XP Mode, the games were not heavy on graphics and should run ok.
This requires that the XP mode will recognize the floppy USB drive...

Portege R100 - I can reinstall Windows XP Home edition with USB floppy & USB key?
I recently damaged my R100 thanks to a virus attack. Despite late cleaning things up with Norton, it will now very slowly and I think that the only way forward is through a total reinstall XP.
I have the original recovery CD and a USB floppy drive but not a PCMIA CD-ROM. As luck would have my USB CDRom is broken. How can I get out of this situation? I'm about to throw an old desk and would be happy to use the XP retail on the R100, if necessary. It is also possible to start the format & install process from a startup disk, and then most of the OS from a USB - having previously filled with copies of the contents of the CD? Desperate people make desperate methods!
I've read a few other discussions on recovery XP issues but they are not entirely coincident with my situation. Any help on this front would be very welcome.
Thanks in advance.
If you can get the installation on the R100 HARD disk files using a FAT32 partition, you can install Windows from the HARD drive after booting from a bootable MS-DOS floppy. (MSDOS can not see NTFS drives).
You can use a 1.8 "adapter HARD USB drive to copy the installation files on the disk HARD R100 from another PC. The adapter would be cheap.

Solution: The USB floppy drive is not recognized during installation of XP of RAID
Hello
This Solution is for notebooks Qosmio with RAID driver during (manual installation of windows)
I found the Solution to this problem,
[When you install Microsoft Windows XP by using a floppy drive USB on a player who]
requires a driver during the installation, the USB floppy drive is not recognized in all
installation. When Windows XP searches the driver of the second time, he will not be able to see
the floppy USB drive drive and prompts the user for the driver (RAID) again.
The installation will never reach this point. ]Solution:
This is a limitation of Microsoft, the Floppy Drive are do not appear in the file Windows 'txtsetup.sif.
Simply change the floppy drive in another brand and avoid Usb 2.0 external Usb floppy plus old 1 Try
Also note the back of drive sometimes they write (no bootable) avoid this alsoI personally Test this and it does not work it is "IBM Portable floppy drive" drive silver

Will there be another windows coming out soon with the floppy drives and DVD players.
Will there be another Windows coming out soon with the floppy drives and DVD players.
Hello
Disks: I don't think so. I always keep 25 floppy disks for Windows 95, should be a few thousand disks for Windows 10. Very, very, very expensive to store files and transport.
Of DVD: would soon come out, new machines will have 10 Windows (who knows) pre-installed or downloaded. You can always find Windows 10 DVD in some countries where users will still have to use dial-up Modem.
Hope it makes sense.

External USB floppy drive for Satellite Pro M70
I just bought a Satellite Pro M70 Centrino Mobile 750 to replace my Satellite 5105 - S702, which exposes the same type of problems of corruption/crash video display described elsewhere in these forums.
I need an external floppy drive, and the site of the Toshiba shop specifies an external USB Floppy Drive Ref. PA3109E-3FDD.
However, I have an external drive USB Floppy, Réf. PA3109U-1FDD, I bought for the satellite 5105-S702 about 4 years ago.
5105-S702 has USB 1.1 ports and satellite Pro M70 has USB2 ports.
Issues related to the:
PA3109U-1FDD will work with the satellite Pro M70?
There are likely to be problems of compatibility, driver issues or any probability/possibility of damage to the Sat ProM70?
Would appreciate any advice.
Thank you
AlanCB
Hi Alan
I really don? t know why you ask if the floppy drive will not work. Why you don? t he try? As far as I know, it should work and you should not buy a new one.
Just for info: a few months ago, I saw the Toshiba FDD drives with part number PX? And these drives are not bootable but on the lower side, there is a label with this information.
Anyway, you can use your other more ancient. According to the specification tested for MS M70 is FDD Drive Kit PA3109U-1FDD (your one).
Good luck

Can you install this on a USB flash drive, if you don't use no floppies? If you can, how?
Can you install this on a USB flash drive, if you don't use no floppies? If you can, how?
In addition to the above answer, even if your computer supports booting from a usb key, based on my experience, it is easier to use a cd rom. usb Flash drives can be very difficult to use to install windows. I did a couple of times but not without problems. If the computer you are using is able to boot at all, and you do not have a cd rom USB that you can try to install windows over the network. Install windows from a flash drive is a long process. $30USD for a usb CD-ROM.
See the article on the link below if you need to install a flash drive.

Windows does not recognize the USB flash drive
Hello
My USB does not work when I plug. It seems that Windows recognizes the device because it is found in the Solution Explorer window, but if I want to create a folder or a file on the USB key I have the following message:
"Cannot find this article.
It is no longer in < %3="" null :="" optext=""> >. Check the location of the components and try again. " < br=""> also the files that are copied to the USB flash drive are not visible in Explorer and it looks like the drive is empty.I want to emphasize that the same (Kingston) USB flash drive works perfectly under Windows XP operating system on another computer so it may not be a problem with the device. The same problem also appears when you use a different USB (another manufacturer).
Thank you!
Hey, 101 a.
, I just posted a fix I found for my USB flash/go to work again. It was a very simple solution, too.
I unplugged all USB devices first, then tried my USB jump drive again. IT WORKED! I've narrowed the problem to the new printer that I use. It's a Mono Dell Laser MFP 1125. Whenever it is plugged into a USB port, my USB doesn't work. All other devices work, but not the USB is the printer is connected
I don't know what done to block the flash/USB key, but unplug printer allows the jump command to work again. I will contact Dell on what did the printer driver to block the flash player. Just an info on the fix I found.

Recently, my hard drive crashed and could be damaged, because I can not install anything on this subject.
I still have the CD of Windows XP Professional that has been used to upgrade to Windows 7.So, if I buy a new hard drive and install XP first and then upgrade to windows 7. I'll be able toto do this without side windows activation problems.Or do I have to buy a new drive for windows?PS: Is it important that it is the version of Windows 7 professional student discount?Thank you.If your computer comes with a qualifying previous license such as Windows Vista or Windows XP and the certificate of authenticity is still attached to the machine in good condition, then the COST is reason enough to represent the compliance to the software license agreement. No previous required software installation, which means you can do a clean install with Windows 7 Upgrade disk.
How to do a clean install with upgrade disc:
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Click on drive Options
Select the disc/s click on Delete
Click new
Click on apply
Click OK
Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation
Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.
When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer
Click on properties
Scroll down to the Windows Activation
Click the link x days before activation.
Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.
Enter the product key
Click next
Select the Activation of the phone
Click Next when you enter your key page
Select your country
Click Next, call the number listed
Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.
Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent
They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it
Click next to complete the activation.
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.
