So, my desktop came with Windows Vista Home Premium, which I didn't know until about five minutes when I tried to use a password reset and it came with an error message. Being a little smarter I have myself give credit, I found that the password reset I used (I had gotten my laptop) has been installed only for Windows 7 because it is the operating system on my laptop. I have no idea if the office came with a disk recovery or not, since my mother bought the display instead of in the box as most of the people get it. I can't get to the desktop because my mother has forgotten his password and is the administrative account and this is the only account available. I decided that I need to reinstall Windows Vista Home Premium to the computer but I don't want to buy a version of it, if I can't, anyway I can just download a Windows VPS on a disc or flash drive and reinstall the OS in this way? Or do I absolutely have to buy a new version of Windows?

And you make a reset disk on that machine, not another machine and make you before you forget the password, not afterwards.

its running vista, but the computer will not start all the way. I did a diagnostic test and it said to replace the hard drive so im wondering what kind of hard drive is in it. What is happening is the load on the computer to the microsoft, just before you put your password and then just stays black.

I currently store my pictures on and an external hard drive. Lightroom 6 was not able to find the picture momentarily files. I inserted an external Flash DRIVE after removing the hard drive and the computer renamed the stick with the same drive letter that has been designated by Lightroom to store my photos. I could go into my Windows 10 and reset the player to the letter that Lightroom has given at the beginning of the external hard drive. However, I know this can happen again, if I connect any stick USD or another device, while the external hard drive is not connected to my laptop. I found the information that I can do the new designation of the final drive by choosing a letter it is 1/2 way or higher in the alphabet. I would like to turn an external hard drive on a strong letter, warns we hope this previous problem. My question is, if I already have a lot of pictures on this external hardrive with the designation of the current drive, how it becomes a higher letter and have 6 Lightroom recognizes files, now under the new designation of drive letter without having to go to each photo individually and manually force Lightroom 6 find each photo. Hello drake68, I have a Sandisk 4 GB flash drive and the led remains blue when it is connected, and when in the front port, there the light upward. Your system may be different. You can't get the message that the drivers are or have been installed. If you insert the flash drive into the front USB port of the system, you can try another port, perhaps on the back of the case, just to make sure that the USB ports work. As long as you do not force the flash player into the port, it will insert only in one direction.
It is difficult to say how long it would take to copy 7 GB of data on a flash drive. It depends on the speed of the system, but USB 2.0 is not very fast to move large amounts of data. It might take some time.

I was on this site before and learned the file transfer Wizard. Did not work. So we went to the flash player. The documents are there, but when you try to open them, they are truncated. How can I get these documents readable.

I gather from your rather terse comments that you copied the files to a computer on a flash drive and then copied to another computer. Did you use backup software to copy the files to the flash drive, or did you just use Windows Explorer (or select--> copy--> paste or drag and drop)?
What application (including version) has been used to create the files and what application (including version) are you using to try to open the files?
What is the file extension of the files (3 or 4 characters after the point)?
