    and it is this:

    Standard system memory: 512 MB
    maximum scalability: 2 048 MB
    technology: DDR2 RAM
    expansion module sizes: 128, 256, 512, 1 024 MB

but on different sites, I found this module maximum expansion size = 512 MB

and in the instruction manual (pdf-Russian) they say that the module is DDR instead of DDR2!

I can even use but 1024 MB?

    Hello

Well, I think that it should be possible to upgrade the memory to 2 GB (2x1024Mo)
I also found a site of memory module very useful:

and according to this site, it should be able to use the 200-pin-DDR2-533 modules SODIMM

  • What memory can I add to Satellite P35-S6292?

    Hello!

I have Toshiba Satellite P35-S6292 with 512 MB of memory (Samsung M4 70L6524BT0-CB3, PC2700, 166 MHz). I want lots of update of the memory modules (I want to buy 2 or 2 * 512 * 1024). My North Bridge chipset: ATI RS300 + South Bridge: ATI SB200 can support dual chanel (400 Mhz possible?, but only DDR not DDR2) memory.

    What memory can I find to my P35 - maximum PC3200, 400 MHz SO - DIMM 1 GB DDR SDRAM Kingston KVR400X64SC3A modules / 1 G (PC3200, 400 d?) D? N?, CL3)?

    Thank you

According to the specifications of the laptop, you can use monitoring of RAM modules:

    Kingston KTT3311/512 PC2100/PC2700, 512 MB DDR
    KTT3311 / 1 G Kingston PC2100/PC2700, 1 GB DDR

  • Satellite A200-1FL: RAM Upgrade - what memory can I use?

I think to update the RAM of my laptop, but I do not know what type of memory should I buy and what brands are compatible.

The current RAM is 2 GB and I would switch to a 3 or 4 GB.
However, I would like to know if this laptop is compatible with Linux.

    Thank you

Theoretically, you can use the modules of memory from different manufacturers.
But modules of memory must support the right specifications.

You must use the modules that are DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) 200 - PIN SODIMM.

You can update the memory up to 4 GB, but I think that it of not necessary to do this because the windows OS will recognize only 3 GB due to the limitation of the 32 bit OS.

    What about you, Linux question.
Is Toshiba doesn't release all the drivers for Linux and so you need to get the drivers on sites of third other 3rd. But in general I put t see any trouble along with the installation of Linux on Toshiba laptops.

    Only Kingston SO-DIMM, 2 GB PC5300 DDR2 SDRAM, KTT667D2 / 2G match?

    > The report system in Windows (i.e. Rclick my computer etc) will report much less than 4 GB. It is a "bug" in the reporting process.

    Just for info: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929605/en-us

According to the specifications of the laptop, you can use monitoring of RAM modules:
    PA3499U - 1 M 25 (Kit of memory 256 Mo DDR2-667)
    PA3511U - 1 M 51 (Kit of memory 512 MB DDR2-667)

  • not to mention that Notepad, what else can I use to write notes?

Not to mention that Notepad, what else can I use to write and save notes

Besides Notepad, Bruce Hagen suggested there are WordPad and Open Office.

Open Office is an excellent free office program and in contrast to Microsoft Office Home and Student which is only for domestic use and costs about $130 Open Office can be used for commercial purposes also.

If you download Open Office and take the time to learn it and set the parameters correctly it is Microsoft Office compatible.

You also have the Windows log on your computer, so one with Vista can also read files (notes) you send them and you can export Windows Journal files like (* mht, * mhtml) files that can be read on XP.

  • Weird! U350 + Win7 - shows less (2.84 GB) of memory can be used with 4 GB with 3 GB?

    Hello

I have an Ideapad U350, which came with Windows 7 32-bit and 3 GB of memory.

Just wanted to extend the RAM so I installed a new 2 GB instead of 1 GB of RAM. Previously, Windows 7 displays "3 installed and 2.87 GB usable" but now it shows "4 GB installed and 2.84 GB usable".

Now, I know that Windows 7 32 bit usually won't show anything under 4 GB if 4 GB is installed, but I was really surprised to see that when I got the 2x2gb memory installed, Windows 7 has shown 2.84 GB!

In other words, Windows 7 32-bit shows less memory can be used when the memory of 4 GB (2x2gb) is installed, only when the / 3GB (2 GB + 1 GB) memory is installed...

I'm a little puzzled about this. Just to be clear, as I said above, I * KNOW * that with Win7 32 bit, it does not show all of the 4 GB, but I expected something like 3 + can be used with the 4 GB GB, not<>

Can is anyone here explain why this is happening?

    Thank you

  • Satellite M40-184 MP3 without OS

    Hello

I have laptop Satellite M40-184 and I would like to ask you, how to play MP3 on this laptop without OS for long time as possible. I installed the program of express Media Player, but it is not possible to play MP3 with it. Or y at - it an upgrade that would allow to read MP3?

    Thank you for your answer
    Best regards
    Pavel Zidlik

    Hello Pavel

As much as I know there is no update that allows this option. Installation Express media player the idea was that the user can watch DVD movies and listen to music CDs without booting the operating system.

Perhaps in the future the Toshiba will design a newer version that can play the mp3 music format.

  • 2250ed dv7 - what a memory can be used to upgrade RAM 8 GB?

It currently contains two sticks of memory 2 GB PC3 - 8500, but two sticks of corsair 4 GB each gave rise to all kinds of flashing lights (and did not work, of course).

Any advice on what memory to use? HP or spare parts, I don't really like.

There are some announced here and here.

Use brands like Kingston or Crucial that are guaranteed compatible. Corsair does not have compatible memory guaranteed for your laptop. That's why you had problems with the Corsair memory.

  • What recovery CD to use with Satellite Pro L20?

We have several Toshiba laptops in use in our society. I need to restore a (a Satellite Pro L20) to factory settings. However, although I have kept all the recovery CD, most of them have labels which do not mention which model they are intended to be used on. On some of them I wrote the model number on the label by hand, but I did not do that for the L20. I know from experience that if I receive the wrong recovery CD, I have to put dozens of drivers and utilities individually, in order to find the right one would save me a lot of time and stress.

Each recovery CD has a number (for example GMR400626EN1), so it should be possible to identify the good CD of it, but I can't find the info on the Toshiba web site.

Is there a list that corresponds to the reference numbers for the models of laptop recovery CD?

    Hello

This info is certainly not available on the Toshiba support site. What you can try is to contact the partner of service authorized in your country. They have access to the database of Toshiba and I'm sure they can help you.

If you need addresses and phone numbers please check https://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com support & downloads search for an ASP.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Canon t5I - please help with what memory cards to use - was sold a UHS 700 x that says 120 MB/sec!

EXACTLY what the memory card should I use in a new Canon Rebel T5i - there are 'TOO MANY TIPS'!

I have a SanDisk I was going to use who says SDHC - UHS-1 16 GB up to 80 MB/sec 533 x.  I have another who said professional UHS 700 X - Ultra HD 4 K - 120 b/sec!   I DO NOT pull any clip or RAW... just regular shots, family, moving animals, jpegs.

Can I use those who say 40-45 MG/S?  You can use a card of memory TOO QUICKLY and it can DAMAGE your camera, if you do?  I have a lot to learn for sure.  Thank you.

SDHC 16 GB is fine for your use.

More fast/more high capacity card will not damage the camera.

  • I can't retrieve the Satellite M40 (M45 in the United States)

I put Ubuntu Linux on the laptop using the bootloader Grub 1.5.

Then... I did something stupid. I used Partition Magic to increase the space for Windows. I don't mind losing any data, or nuking the drive and put back in operation, but it does not seem possible?

When I put a boot disk (if recovery, Windows or Ubuntu) I get "Grub Error 17 1.5". I changed the boot options to boot from the CD first, but for some reason that always happens, and bios is kind of limit on what I can do. Now on the software still works, but I don't know of anyway have a boot disk.

Help! I hate the idea that I have fried my phone on a software problem? :(

    Hello

I m not an expert in Linux but for as far as I know this error message appears if the boot partition is available, BUT the file system is no more recognized by GRUB.

If you try to boot from windows to check the grub.conf file contains entries
root (hdX, Y) (or rootnoverify (hdX, Y)) and (hdX, Y) chainloader + 1

    See also grub manual;
