I've been looking for a job and I can't go to my accounts because when I type into the search engine, that it always goes to twitter. How can I get rid of twitter and back to my old google search engine?
Hello
Looks like your search bar, the bar to the right of your address bar, is on Twitter. If you click the icon or the triangle down, you can change the provider to Google. Please see the article use in Firefox search bar for more information.

Stalls Firefox loading Google search promoted items
Using Firefox 24.0 in Windows 8 Pro 64.
If I click on an element of promotion (yellow background) in the Google search results, all have left their click or right click / new tab, deepends element and do not load (blank tab and a URL linked to Google).
Other elements of the results page is loading properly.
Check with IE10, promoted elements load correctly.
I tried to clear the cache and cookies without effect.
Can anyone suggest a framework I have wrong?
Thank youHello
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.
(If you use it, switch to the default theme).
- Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
- Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
- Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.
Thank you.

Most toolbars are created extensions, and it looks as if you have enabled extensions. You can check in the following tab:
Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions category
To select the toolbars are displayed, you can switch the Sub and using a power off of these:
- Right click on an empty area of the tab bar
- Press the Alt key > view > toolbars
If the whole toolbar is missing, Firefox may be full-screen mode. Use the F11 function key to switch between full screen and normal views.
A little luck?

Looks like you may have malware or adware programs on your hard disk, which is originally the redirects. You have two options available to remove it:
- Download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware for Mac. It was developed by an employee trust and respected here. It is a simple and non-intrusive program that removes malware known/adware from your hard drive. That's all that. It does nothing and is not take anything else. Unlike the antiviruss protection programs, it does not work in the background of your computer, using the resources and also unlike anti-virus programs (which are not necessary on Macs), it is not actively prevent malware infections or adware. Its only purpose is to remove them.
- Restart your computer. As of April 26, 2016, changes to the support article here-> https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203987 as El Capitan State removes adware when you connect, but only when connecting. So, if you do not want to use Malwarebytes, it's another option for you.
Go to Safari preferences-> Extensions and uninstall any that you do not install or that you don't really need.

The change between Firefox 3.6. * and Firefox 4 is how the location bar search. In Firefox 3.6, it uses Google search "search by name". With innovation by the name search, it performs a search on Google and if there is a clear match he will take you on the site, otherwise, it shows the Google search result. With Firefox 4 it performs just a search on Google, if you type in something that is not recognized as a URL.
To get the behavior of Firefox 3.6 on Firefox 4, you must change a hidden preference.
- Type of topic: config in the address bar and press on enter
- Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
- Locate the preference keyword. URL, double-click it and change its value on the link below

I have reset Firefox. I get all recently warning of security windows on a BTRoot certificate is not invalid. Before that, I used Google since originally installing Firefox, now when I try a search, I get a problem with page load error. I have firefox on another computer and the same search goes along. I can also use any other search engine in your library, and they work fine as well. Why not google? Can I fix by accepting the certificate in windows?
Follow these steps, but the problem still exists. Eventually completely uninstall Firefox, restored my PC to a restore point prior to initial installation, and then reinstalled firefox. Now, everything works fine on my old windows XP computer and my Google search is ok. It has also eliminated my problem with a BRTRoot problem where I apparently had a fraudulent site interfering with Google.
Thanks for your help.
