Hello. You can replace the battery yourself by following the instructions in the link below. If your MacBook doesn't look like the one illustrated in the provided link, go to your Apple Store closest to have the battery replaced by Apple (you can always have the battery replaced by an Apple Store after your warranty is over, you will just need to pay out of pocket for repairs).

  • Help: What is causing these whirring sounds! The MacBook Pro 13, retina display. Bought December 2014.

Help: What is causing those whirring sounds that started today! I have a MacBook Pro 13 ", the retina display. I bought my MBP on 28/12/2014; is today 23/12/2015, so I'm in a one year warranty. I ran a diagnostic equipment this morning and she said my battery needed replacement, but I can't imagine a battery would create a whirring sound. Thoughts/ideas? Thank you!

PS - Apple needs better/more emoticons, IMO.

If the said hardware diagnostic test the batteries need maintenance, I suggest that you call your Apple store to make an appointment to have them check the battery. When you bring it ask them about whirring sounds.

  • Is that what I can change the fisheye, look in first pro, a GoPro camera?

Is that what I can change the fisheye, look in first pro, a GoPro camera?

It depends, at least in part, on what platform you are. [That and you have the exact version of Premiere Pro are two data points that you always include...]

Under Windows, first has an effect called lens distortion.  I don't know what are your options on Mac. If someone else does not come with any suggestions for Mac, then googling '"Premiere Pro" mac GoPro fisheye"gives a few promising hits.

  • I have a Macbook Pro 2015 retina and I wonder how the cycles of battery are calculated?

I have a Macbook Pro 2015 retina and I wonder how the cycles of battery are calculated?

If I load to 100% and then run it down on battery to 0% of course it counts as a battery cycle.

If I recharge to 90% and run up to 5% or 10%, which count as a battery sprays?     Between what % are there?

The reason I ask is that I try to keep the cumulative battery cycle count down.

    Thank you

    http://www.Apple.com/batteries/why-lithium-ion/

Whenever he finishes a full charge, it's a cycle.  If you charge 70% one day, then 30% another day, it's a cycle.

The Apple site, I posted above, it explains very clearly.

A cycle is counted when the battery has completed a 100% charge, not a discharge.

  • Apple will replace the battery for my MacBook Pro to the retina when in-store?

Hi, the battery must be replaced on my MacBook Pro of retina, but I don't want to send it and pick up within 2 weeks. They will replace when I'm in the store? The guarantee also ended 2 weeks ago that I'd be able to show them, and they would be understanding and do it for free? Personally, I think that £125 for a battery is charges and it's a shame that it's over 2 weeks ago. Thank you!

well - it depends on the discrection of one you get. I'd be inclined to say "no, they can't do it for free. As for how long that will take, well. again, you will need to enter and take a go-genius bar. What I can say is to be nice and polite, and maybe you could get lucky

  • How to optimize the battery in my MacBook Pro?

    Hey,.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro 2015 13 inches and I love it so far! Mainly, I bought it for use at the University since I am a student in Architecture and I was told that the MacBook Pro are great for this.

Anyway, as I always take careful care of my business, I want to know how to maximize the battery in my MacBook Pro? Is it true that whenever I have my MacBook Pro connected to the charger and it reaches the max (100%), the charger stops charging? Also, should I turn off or put to sleep when I'm not using it?

I have read online some tips, but I want to just make sure that all of its clear. I have a lot of questions to be honest, but if someone can give a brief explanation I would really appreciate it!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Josetroti:

When you leave your MacBook Pro is plugged, it stops to load automatically when it reaches 100%. There's no need to unplug it.

I turn on my Macbook Pro in the morning and left running unless I'm going out for a few hours in this case, I if it turned off.

In the night I turned off it. I don't use mode 'sleep', as with the SSD climbing boots Macbook very quickly. But that's just my preference.

I heard that if you leave your computer connected permanently, a once a month, you must let sink to about 30% and then recharge.

It is not good to let it drop below 10%.

  • What is the path hidden pictures on a macbook pro?

What is the path hidden pictures on a macbook pro?  I want to look at the structure of files and compare the list of photos to remove duplicates.

    / Users/Myusername/images/Photos\ Library\ 2. photoslibrary?

    ~/Library/?

    Thanks for any help.

If you try to delete the duplicates by deleting files directly in the package of the photo library you will damage the photo library.

Photography shops photos within a structure of database and the objects are distributed everywhere. There is no way tor record delete a single picture using the Finder.

The photo library is a set, a folder with subfolders and data bases. For a single photo that you import pictures will store the original image file in a subfolder 'Masters' (~/Pictures/Photos Library.photoslibrary/Masters/) or in iCloud, according to your settings.  It will create an additional stamp file, files with faces found thumbnails and previews in the folder found, to share with other applications in the media browser.  Always use Photos interface to remove the photos or the library will become inconsistent.

You can look inside the set of files grouped by ctrl-clicking on the library and using the command 'Show Package Contents': but make sure you do not move the files.

To remove duplicates consider using a double Finder program:

These applications are compatible with Photos and safe to use:

If you have duplicates of a different pixel size in your library as well, then consider Photo Sweeper. We can compare the histograms or bitmaps from photos, so you can detect duplicates as well edited.  In addition, you can set up rules assigned to photos to keep and which to dispose, for example to give preference to more recent photos, photos with the largest size of pixel or photos with metadata.

PowerPhotos is a great tool to have, when you work in Photos for navigation of several libraries of Photos at once and to see the photos annotated with metadata. It can move photos between libraries and help you merge libraries. But the duplicate detection is not as versatile as in Photo Sweeper. It can detect mainly exact replica.

I don't know much Duplicate Annihilator, so I can't say how it will compare to the other two.

  • The battery life of MacBook Pro 15 "(released mid-2015)

How long should my MacBook Pro 15 '' (2015) battery last? " Im getting about a little less than 5 hours and the normal battery status. I turned off Bluetooth and set it automatically adjusts the brightness. Shouldn't I be living out my battery?

It depends on what you are doing. If you write just a text document, 5 hours is too short. If you navigate all the time and visit the Web site with a lot of Flash or video content, it is good enough.

  • How low should I leave the battery on my MacBook Pro before I recharge

I have a new MacBook Pro and I know that once a month I'm supposed to leave the battery discharged.  But how low should it let?

Don't let the battery discharge to 0. You must load whenever it is convenient. There is no battery memory as the old batteries so you can load any level of discharge.

  • What percentage should you start/stop plug your macbook pro?

I'm about to get a MBPr (early 2015 version) and I really want to have a long service life. I'll use it for about 5 years, until the College, which is quite long and probably a lot of users have it broken at that time here.

    • is there a certain percentage where I should start and stop it plug to a battery in good health? (e.g. use it until you go down to 40% then load 100% completely and repeat)
    • or is it also ok for him have charged 24/7 (as in almost never off the record) to maintain cycles down? I saw so many people say yes, but many also say it will ruin the battery.
-a similar question, if I load 100%, I have to unplug it already or can I keep connected? and if I don't respect plugged, when the best time to unplug?

I actually read a lot (as in a batch.) items already on the time to load, but then it's so many conflicting and contradictory responses and I don't know what it takes to follow (I'm also sure that some answers here will be contradictory between them as well, but I guess it's just inevitable). I'm sure from what I've read, just that lithium-ion batteries hate deep discharge, so I won't. Other than that, I'm still pretty confused on what's left to follow.

Sorry if I seem like I'm overthinking it too, but nothing comes cheap nowadays and I really want this to last. any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

    He man,.

-There is no percentage which is thought to be the percentage of start to use the charger. But often the people on this forum say they charge their macbook when they want, making sure to unload the macbook less than 20% just about once a month.

-You can leave it loaded 24/7 If you want to. but I would recommend for battery less than 20% once a month or more. You can leave it connected after that the battery is fully charged.

also accept that your battery will lose deep performance over time and as long as you don't release it your battery will be great for years to come and enjoy.

    Cheers!

  • What is error 4mem/62/40000000: x7f22e190 on macbook pro

I ran the AHT and it gave me this message.  I think was doing w bar memory... can someone give me light?

    TXS

    HEctor

It is indeed a memory error. But exactly what the codes mean is unprecedented.

In current Mac, these errors are not usually clean in a few simple steps such as new seats, swapping positions or contact-cleaning. You will almost always be forced to replace the modules. so if you were ever considering an upgrade of RAM, that's your excuse.
