  It can't hurt to unplug external drives.

  Time Machine should recognize the previous backups. Which means, you should be able to go back to the backups made since previous versions of OS X. I know when I upgraded from 10.10.5 to 10.11.3, I could see/restore back ups in 10.10.5.

  Another thing to consider is once the Installer OS X El Capitan.app file is downloaded and before you click continue to install, copy this file from / applications to another folder (for example, downloads) so that you have it if you need it in the future. Download time records.

  Thank you. This option is more valid than if the hosts are part of an HA Cluster license. I suspect that you configured through the traditional vSphere Client and that it is a bug with this client. • Migration of Time Machine to the new drive, backups are larger than the Original drive

  I am currently migrating my Time Machine backups from a 2 TB WD My Passport for Mac to a new WD 6 to my book for Mac. I have 63 backups on the old disk, and Finder says that the reader has TB filled 1.96.

  However, each individual backup is about 350 GB, which certainly does not. I think normally it was something weird with the Finder listing the wrong sizes, except that when I copy the backups to the new disk, they copy effectively to 350GB a piece.   I use Time Machine often (and have used since its introduction).  I also upgraded my Mac hardware quite often (about every 18 months).  Whenever I move to a new machine, I use the Migration Wizard (and not Time Machine).  I've never had a problem.

  Then I suggest that you need not Time machine specifically in order to change computers.  However, you really need to keep backups simply because the material is not, and without a backup, you are subject to lose everything you have on your computer.

  You must extract the files zip first and then open it with a program that can open that particular file type.  So in this case, even if you use Internet Explorer to download files, you must use Vista to extract to the desktop (downloads or music where ever you choose) by right-clicking on the download, unzip the folder and create a new folder with the decompressed files and then you can use WMP or any program you use to play the songs.  But it does not work because of the changes that you did - but we can fix that easily enough.  It happens quite often with many different programs (ZIP especialliy because a lot of people care less about the ZIP of Vista program and cause problems in trying to change).  I suggest that you pay attention to what we're about to do what it will be probably useful more than once to you later for other types of files (I use it often, but I use it often when I install a new program and do not have default values, he created).  Although the first procedure is for most of the types of special system files and so generally used only for repairs (with the exception of ZIP), the second (if you actually need to use it) works with all other types of files.  I recommend that you create a new folder in the Favorites, called "File Association Changes" and add these links so that they will be easy to find if you need again.

  I'm trying to upgrade a Windows XP Home Sp3 OEM system to
  Windows XP Pro. (There are a few Pro features
  that are not available in the House I now need: (1) the files offline and
  (2) an add-on available for free to Onenote 2007, Top2onenote, requires a Pro).
  I don't want a clean install, but an upgrade. I bought a Windows XP Pro
  Upgrade CD on Ebay that was Windows XP Pro
  Gold (v2002). I'm sure that's true for the following reasons:

  It has been listed as an upgrade, but the CD is not labeled "Upgrade".
  It seems very authentic with all Microsoft holography.
  He came in the standard package of Windows XP (without box),
