What should I use: Stand by or hibernation mode?

What is the general Council concerning power options - should I use (default) stand-by, hibernation or shutdown. This could be for 1 hour or overnight.

I just used stand-by but sometimes all night I hear the hard disk activity.

I was wondering the general consensus.

Thank you

Hello

Something this two modes:

Sleep and modes extended recording the State of the computer when it off s. The next time the unit is turn on, the data will be retrieved and the computer's User Interface will appear exactly how it was when it was turned off.

The difference between the standby and Hibernation mode is the method of saving the State of the system data:
-in standby mode, the RAM is used to save the State of the data, and therefore, the RAM is always fed in order to maintain the saved state.
-in hibernation mode, the State of data is saved on the hard disk, in a special file called Toshiber.dat.

Standby mode keeps the saved state of the computer for only a few days, that is until the battery is empty.
Hibernation can persist the State of the data indefinitely, but start and stop times are longer than with the Standby mode and require more energy while saving and recovery of State data.

    my screen is dirty, what should you use to clean?

    LCD or CRT?

    If it is a CRT glass, you can use Windex and paper towel. Spray a little on the towel, just enough to moisten it (not enough to leave any term) and wipe the display until it is clean. Follow up with a scrap of paper dry towel or microfibre.

    If it's an LCD screen (even on a laptop), you can use the same method, but NEVER use a napkin on the screen LCD; Instead, use a microfibre cloth. They are less likely to scratch.

    On any type of screen, it is a good idea to use something like a can of compressed air to blow something loose there first before wiping.

  • What should I use?

    Hello
    I want to create a multiplayer online game with Director MX, but I do not know what server product to use. I was ready to multiple users, when I read that Multi-User has been abandoned for the Flash Communications. I'm so confused, what should I use?

    (The play is turnbased)

    I have a document on how to use the multiuser server in Director 8.5, I can apply the same documentinfo to director mx?

    Compatibility issues with the muXtra would imply also questions with tons of
    other (mm and third) Xtras.
    However, problems of compatibility with future versions of operating system - what is risky is
    who will also have to do with several Xtras / existing apps.
    MM has created a version of OS x of the muXtra. But I do not expect that they would be
    create one for the next incompatible OS. On same windows, rear
    compatibility is usually a high priority, so I would say - just a guess - who
    the windows version of the muXtra will be functional for several years.

    What vm product should I consider on my new laptop 64 bit... ?

    I think that the best product for your use would be VMware Workstation; However, it is not a "free" product I would suggest starting with VMware Server or VMware Player - these two are free and will allow you to run the virtual machines that you want to run. These two products are really intended to very different use cases:

    VMware Player

    Intended for the performance of virtual machines that are generated by someone else (i.e. Virtual Appliances). There are free sites out there for you to create your own virtual machines (VMX Builder & EasyVMX!, so this isn't a problem.) The thing that really distinguishes the player outside the server's user interface. Drive is really much better if you intend to sit in the front of the system running the VMware product. You will get a much more responsive user experience.

    VMware Server

    Expected to run virtual machines on a server "headless". You can create virtual machines, but the great "fight" with the server, is that you basically have to use a program of remote access to access/use your virtual machines. Server comes with a bundled remote access solution, but it is - say - not the best thing for constant use.

    If you use one of them to start with and you find that you want available in VMware Workstation features, then you can go out and spend the money to purchase a license (you can also start with a free trial of workstation...)

  • H.246 (MPEG-4) against. AVI? Which should I use? What should I use for audio?

    Hey guys, I'm pretty new to AAE. In fact, I've had the trial for only 8 days now. I just got a capture card so I could record BF3 gameplay on Xbox 360. Sometimes I spent doing missions and whatnot, gameplay recording, so I could put in AAE and change it. Now I hear that the EFA is most compatible with the MPEG-4 files only with. AVI files. I'm not sure about this, but I know that when I RAM Preview with. AVI or MP3 files, audio is always cutting in and out.

    My question is, do I need to record and edit my gameplay with H.246 (MPEG-4), or should I use. AVI files instead? What is important to me is the quality of the video and how it works with AAE (I don't want it to twinkle in the entry/exit)

    But also, what is the best audio file format? As in, best quality and compatibility, also I don't want no audio to cut output when I saw it.

    Thank you!

    Use reviews. H.264 is a compressed format of delivery and not necessarily meant for editing. Ditto for you MP3 - AE are simply waste to deal with them. Use rather WAV. Do some reading here on this forum. These themes were repeated several times.

    I need up to 7 separate channels for this so each pump can be driven independently. Can anyone suggest what equipment to use to achieve this?

    You can use the 9474, he needs power external 24V and one of the cDAQ backplanes (e.g. 9171).

  • What should I use instead of cellPress in the DataGrid

    It seems that the cellPress event is what you used in AS2.0. I can't find an equivalent function in AS3.0. I got a lot more like that in a non editable dataGrid.

    From Beta 3, you should be able to get the information you want for the itemClick event. This event is available on all elements of list based as TileList, DataGrid, list, etc.

  • What should I use the incremental update for IKM Oracle?

    IM missing some conditions before using the incremental update

    I have a simple integration of an Oracle source data source table directly to another target Oracle data source table

    I'd like to run a simple merger on a periodic basis

    Source table that contains data, the target table is created and set in the model

    Project created, put two tables in mapping

    LKM specified LKM SQL for Oracle (I won't use DBLink)

    Key of the target table are defined

    I go to set the IKM but cannot choose the incremental update option

    Probably a new problem user but can't seem to find a solution

    So it's a stale issue that I have long found the answer and thought I would post it here just in case someone else is beginner and difficulties as well

    For the incremental update be visible the following must be in place:

    (1) the IKM that supports the update must be visible in the project, as shown in the diagram above - that's what our ODI comes with

    (2) in the logical scheme of the model to the target in the context table to see its properties

    (3) set a goal on the properties of incremental update

    (4) now put target in context in the physical tab

    (5) IKM Oracle Fusion is now visible in the knowledge of integration Module

  • What should I use to load the audio in as3 instead of load()?

    Hello.

    I have a setup of the 4 x 4 pads, which are essentially the buttons or video clips with 3 States to show a visual feedback (like lighting to the top of the pads when they are pressed).  I tested this configuration on an android tablet, but also a laptop touchscreen Windows 7.  Obviously, the computer laptop windows 7 is more powerful and therefore more reactive.

    But not sensitive enough.

    I wonder how I should approach the loading of the audio files that are short drum-kit sample sounds in mp3 format stored in a current folder next to the swf file.

    Is there a better way, as a way to cache the sounds so that I don't have to reload them each time the sound event fires?

    Any help on this is greatly appreciated.  (I'm just not aware of how else, right now, approaching loading sounds other than calling a new sound, each time that the button is pressed, so not really caching of sound)

    You can use either:

    var kickc_03:Sound = new kickc_03_mp3();  don't know whether to use Sound() or kickc_03 here...

    or

    var kickc_03:kickc_03_mp3 = new kickc_03_mp3();

    they will both work because its subclasses kickc_03_mp3.

    If I were you I would do something like:

    run this time

    var drumNum:int = 16;

    var soundArray:Array = [null];

    var C: Class;

    init();

    function init (): void {}

    for (var i: int = 1; i<>

    C = Class (getDefinitionByName (formatF (i) + "kickc_" + "_mp3");

    soundArray.push (new C());

    }

    function formatF(n:int):String {}

    s var:String=n.toString();

    While (s.length<>

    s = « 0 » + s ;

    }

    return s;

    }

    //////////////////////////////////////////////

    now, whenever you want to generate a noise of kickc_somenum_mp3, use:

    soundArray [somenum] () .play;

  • What should I use to draw lines on a map?

    Is it a drawing of the tool that you can attach to your computer to draw lines? The cursor is not precise enough to draw lines on a map (jpeg). Is there a tool I can buy and fix to draw on my screen using PS?

    Thank you post again - I recommend no doubt using the pen for what you are trying to do. Trying to map free hand lines is very difficult, but the pen tool offers precise control. I have outlined some steps for you to follow below.

    1. open your image and select the Pen tool from the toolbar, as shown below.

    2. I would recommend zoom in your image to make it easier for you to track on the lines of the complex plane. To do this, select view > Zoom In, or hitting "control +" (Windows) or ' command + ' (Mac) on your keyboard.

    3. then create a new layer by clicking the new layer in the layers panel, as shown below. Draw your lines of card on a new layer to preserve your original map image in case you make a mistake or want to start over.

    4 using the Pen tool, tracing on the lines of the map of your boot image. Here I begin to Bellevue and suite I90 to Ellensburg. Using the tool pen takes some practice. To get detailed help about how to use the pen tool, watch videos of Terry White I linked in my previous post.

    5. Once you have finished tracing over the lines of the map, go in the tracks Panel by clicking on the "Paths" tab in your layers panel.

    6. in the tracks Panel, click the icon of the path highlighted below. This caresseront the way you created using your most recent Brush tool settings - I will go into this more again to the next step.

    7. you can see that the way that I created with my pen tool has been rubbed with yellow and aligns very well with the original line of the card. You can change the size and color of your run by selecting the Brush tool in the toolbar and clicking the tools described below.

    8. when I have to zoom out, you can see I have drawn precisely the line of the card. I did it very quickly so with patience, you can create extremely accurate map lines.

    I highly recommend watching the video of Terry White on how to use the pen tool. The pen tool is the best way to create very relevant and precise lines apart from the purchase of an external drawing tablet.

    I hope this has helped! Good luck!

  • Image mapping, what should I use?

    Is there a way to do image mapping in DW? What about PS CS4? Illustrator?

    Thank you

    Use Dreamweaver to image maps.  Insert an image on your web page.  Click on the hotspot (rectangle, circle, or polygon) tools and click on & do drag the mouse on the image to define the bindable areas.

    Never use a graphical application to generate the HTML code for you.  Graphics are great for creating and optimizing images for the web, but they suck Plumb as code generators.  DW or any other HTML editor is what you use to create web pages.

  • What should I use stopMovie for?

    Recently, I discovered that I need to remove all instances of the modifier keyframePlayer in stopMovie function, or else when my projector is closed an error message is displayed.

    A Manager stopMovie on is a good place to put the Lingo that performs tasks of cleaning - such as the closing of the resource files, by disabling global variables, deleting fields and removing objects - when the movie's over.

    I come from a Flash background and just now starting to learn more about how memory is managed. Do I need to remove objects and clear variables in the stopMovie thus function? Is there a rule to follow? I do not receive an error when I close the projector now... I'm sure?

    You can use either:
    clearGlobals()
    or
    _Global.clearGlobals)
    or for the only Javascript (undocumented)
    _SYSTEM.GC)

    Depending on the version of the Director. Which erases all global variables. Other than that, you should kill all the objects as members of script created, objects Xtras and timeOut.

    to kill a single global variable:
    global gSomeVar
    ..
    ...
    gSomeVar = CANCEL

    That is to say.
    MEM = new (#bitmap)
    or mem = _movie.newMember (#bitmap)
    ..
    ...
    MEM. Erase()

    fileObj = xtra("FileIO").new)
    fileObj = new (xtra "FileIO") or
    ..
    ...
    fileObj = 0

    timeOut("timeout_object").new (1000, #someTimeoutHandler, me)
    or timeOut () .new ("object timeout", 1000, #someTimeoutHandler, me)
    ..
    ...
    timeOut (object time-out") .forget ()"

    all of these objects can be killed, where they were created locally and unless you use global variables, do not need to be killed in the stopMovie Manager on... the clearGlobals() is a tote that will do the trick.
