What Toshiba preinstalled programs are safe remove in the form of my laptop?
Hello
This is probably the question most google on Toshiba laptops, but I can't get a clear answer so I thought I'd come to a forum. I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite P870 and startup is very slow, and the overall performance of the computer could be better.
In the list of stuff pre-installed below, I would like to know if there A) would make a difference in performance/speed and B) that I should really delete the
Programs:
Toshiba Assist
Toshiba Config Free
Toshiba Disc Creator
Toshiba Eco utility
Toshiba face recognition
Toshiba hardware configuration
Toshiba hDD protection
Toshiba HDD/SSd Alert
Toshiba Media controller
Plug-Controller Toshiba in Media
Toshiba PC Monitor health
Toshiba Advanced shift control
Toshiba Recovery Media Creator
TOSHIBA ReelTime
Toshiba Remote Control Manager
Resolution of Toshiba and Plug In for Windows Media Player
Toshiba Service Station
Speech of Toshiba systems Applciations
Toshiba Speech system SR motor (US) version 1.0
Toshiba Speech system TTs Engine (US) version 1.0
Toshiba supervisor password
Toshiba Value Added Package
I don't have not really met/used one of these yet and want to know which are worth keeping around, and that I can do everything right on remove.
any advice would be greatly appreciated, but I tried the Decrapifyer program and it really helped a lot.
Hi and welcome to our community.
If it is no longer question of google I really hope that we will find the final answer here. ;)
At first, I must say that each of us has a perhaps different view of this. Some of us want to use a tool of some and some of us don t like some of them is not possible to give a precise answer to your question.
In any case I'll start with my personal opinion, but first some general information. Toshiba recovery image contains many specific tools Toshiba and public services, as well as some additional software. Toshiba-specific tools and utilities are designed to help the user with full control for laptop and also the laptop owner to get useful information on updates.
I repeat again, what I write here is my personal opinion and I want to just describe what I do.
I delete after clean install of OS of the system
TEMPRO, Toshiba ReelTime, Toshiba Service Station, and other things like links to eBay, or other stuff that is completely useless to me.
Toshiba listed specific tools are OK, but I put t need them. They start with laptop and sow in commissioning. TEMPRO and Toshiba Service Station are monitoring tools inform you about the new BIOS or driver updates. As I wrote it is very nice, but if the system works perfectly don't change anything.
I'll go trough your list and write a comment short for each listed programs.
-Toshiba Assist very useful tool where you can find shortcuts to all the important of Toshiba and utility tools. Leave the shortcut on the desktop
Toshiba - Free Config - very useful tool for the monitoring of the network but not must be started with the OS. Don t he remove the disabe just in the starting System. You can start it when necessary.
-Toshiba Disc Creator useful, but not so important. Depends on the owner of the laptop. I put t use it.
-Toshiba Eco utility useful but for me personally not so advantageous. I removed it from the system. When I want to save energy, I just use the power of Eve plan Windows.
-Toshiba Face Recognition - nice tool to play but I don t use. It is removed from my system.
-Hardware configuration, one of the most important tools of Toshiba Toshiba. Check it out and don t he remove it from the system.

How can I remove a program are not not in the control panel: Add/Remove program list
How can I remove a program are not not in the control panel: Add/Remove program list? I have a shortcut to a program called "Smart Engine" that pops up right on my desk. I can't find under anything else to remove it. I have remove the shortcuts, but they reappear everytime I restart.
Smart Engine is a Trojan horse... If you have MalwareBytes installed, try to run... If this does not work (and it might because Smart Engine will try to stop it). Click here for additional removal instructions...

Original title: completely clueless
I'm totally clueless when it comes to computers, but I try very hard to learn. I am using the help section a LOT, but I can't seem to find an answer to the only thing that makes me crazy. How can you know what drivers and programs are essential and those that can be deleted without harming my computer? I have a very basic net accountant I learn on before I screw up a portable more expensive and I do a cleaning on my C and D drives to improve performance because it runs so slow but it tells me I have the drivers who slow down Windows. I would greatky appreciate any assistance from someone who has the patience of a saint and is willing to take the time to explain it to me, in terms laymans. Thanks in advance
Drivers: you should know what you bought (in your machine) and what * you * want out of it. If you want stability and things work properly - let alone the drivers. If you want more performance check (and other games) in the drivers of motherboard chipset and video network from the manufacturers Web site... For more stability stick with the OEM website (HP, Dell, Lenovo - the assembler of the whole machine) and slightly more performance/push the limits (even if they want to work too - so still some stability) - access to websites of its components manufacturer.
With regard to the programs: you can decide what you use and do not use. If you are not sure, look it up (Google) or ask.

What type of certificates are not suitable for the signature of the extensions to HTML5?
It is not clear to me, of the literature exactly what types of certificate are not suitable for the signature of the CC2014 HTML5 extensions.
I used a Thawte 'Adobe Air' certificate for signing extensions based on Flash. It is now expired. Can I buy the same type and that will work cross-platform for the signature of the extensions to HTML5?
See http://www.thawte.com/code-signing/content-signing-certificates/adobe-air/index.html
Thank you
Hi meeky2,
Required certificates have not changed for HTML5 extensions, so the same type of certificate that you had before work ('Adobe Air' certificates are very good).
Note that if you only distribute your HTML5 extension through modules Adobe / Adobe Exchange, then there is no need to use a paid certificate. If you distribute your extension elsewhere, then you should do the same thing as you did with the extensions of the AIR.
Best regards

Best way to decide what programs are safe to delete?
I did everything you can imagine to improve performance on my PC and finally facing the last hurdle. There are WAY to many installed programs. I removed everything that I use on a regular basis. Now I am faced with many programs that I use that came with other included software, and I want to get rid of the secondary programs. Two examples:
1. I bought AVS Audio Converter, because he understands more than any freeware/shareware that I could find. But it also came with AVS Update Manager and AVS4YOU Software Navigator (totaling more than 19 MB)2. the software that controls my Creative Audigy sound cart also came with Creative MediaSource, Creative Software AutoUpdate and Creative System Information (totally more than 156 MB).I could just try and shoot them, but I don't know if I will get a warning that this program X program requires Z 'talk' to the program. When it comes to repairing the damage be re-setup, let's say that my efforts to keep track of original installation CD have been well intentioned but above all ineffective. Two examples are just the visible part of the iceberg. I'll have to contact technical support for each company that sold me the software? Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.
You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

What HP programs are safe uninstall or disable on a Pavilion a6720y Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Hi, I have sought an answer to this for a while now. Some of the programs I already deleted, but some that I don't know if they run or perform another program or service. I saw little help on a specific programme and a few questions of a similar nature than mine, but none with the same programs I think to remove. So here's my list:
HP Active Support Library
HP Customer Experience Enhancements
HP demo
HP Total Care Setup
CyberLink DVD suit
Power2Go
PowerDirector
muvee reveal
By removing all these I would earn 834MB of disk space, as well as to release resources for other things. I like to keep HP Update for now, so if one of these who stop working I have to rethink that part. While these programs all have a purpose for some people, after owning this computer for 2-3 years, I find that I use very few of them and not very often. Any help will be appreciated.
In theory, you can uninstall the HP software all without affect the use of your computer. I installed a clean copy of Windows on HP computers and they work fine. These programs are just the software of convenience for many users. Even the 'HP update' work can be done without it.

programs are not not in the start icon
When I click on the start icon in the taskbar, all programs have dissappered, they are still in the add and remove the though.how section make their return to the start icon in this list. all programs are gone.how did it happen? What is fix? When I restore from an earlier date, it does not restore the list of programs.
It is likely that a piece of malware hidden links used by the start menu.
Try to bring up a command prompt window (Windows key + 'R' and then type "cmd") and then enter the following command:
attrib s h "c:\documents and settings\all Users\Menu Menu\Programs\ * ' / s
This should display all these files if they are hidden.

Toshiba 32L4363DG - videos are not played to the end
Hello
I have several problems with my TV1. long movies are not played to the end. For example 2 h 10 min film only 1 h 50 min appears when played from USB. Ultimately TV comes out just the movie to the file manager. This happens with all feature films and is extremely annoying.
2. some videos to youtube since the Youtube app are not played to the end as well. The courts also - 30 min video gets reduced to 25 minutes. I think that it is discussed here: https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread.php?78985.
Still no solution!3. after the latest software updated is a very irritating problem. I set up the channels with antenna scanning. All the strings appear and get stored - turn on/off tv and remain the channels. BUT after I enter the menu (press the Home button) of the Smart TV all channels disappear! I have to rescan them again! Never happened before the last update!

Not sure if this might help but try resetting the default TV (load defaults) after the firmware has been flashed.
Then rescan the channels again. -
What concurrent virtual machines are launched to start the failover or failover test
Hi friends,
What the simultaneous virtual machines are started when the failover or failover test is started?
6 virtual machines are cocurrently recovered or the number can be configured?
Thank you.
Hello
The number of virtual machines simultaneously recovered was 2 virtual machines per host up to a maximum of 20 virtual machines with MRS. 4.x ( http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/VMware-vCenter-SRM-WP-EN.pdf document "Best Practices" 18 States, but I have seen 20 myself several times).
With SRM 5 the number is unlimited by default (http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/techpaper/srm5-perf.pdf, page 13), but can be changed (overall or specific cluster): http://blogs.vmware.com/uptime/2011/10/working-at-the-edge-of-srm-5-limits.html

Selection/removal of the forms of evil
I use Pages for years and have never had a problem with this issue. I want to just add a round shape in my document and copy it several times and make some labels. I want to spend the circles in the document away somehow. For some reason I can't click on the form and then select. Sometimes I get selected and drag it, but most of the time I can't. There are some circles that I can't select all. Sometimes, there is a big blue line around anything that connects everything. I have just never had this problem and I have googled to death and still can't find a response. Any help would be appreciated. 5.6.1 thank you Pages using.
Pages (including v5.6.1) V5 is not based on the Pages ' 09 v4.3. It is a different beast and the other actively interfering with your productivity and mood.
When you click on forms and insert a circle in your document in Pages v5.6.1, you must go to the Panel Format: organize the tab while the shape is selected. Text wrapping set to None. Do this for each inline shape. Double adjustment of inherent shape text Wrap. This disables the repellent multiple forms magnetic behavior, when it is defined otherwise.
You can select a form when your mouse pointer passes a beam of insertion in a form of pointer. This occurs on the form. There is a square covering that surrounds the circle, but it is a zone of click. Try to drag your pointer in a large circle around your shapes those inclusive within blue borders thick turns but don't select the shapes. When everything has failed, you can press command + A (select all).
I have duplicate shapes by pressing the option key while I drag a shape. I have my preferences Pages: leadership: Alignment Guides check the selected boxes, because that gives me on my forms cloned automatic alignment markers.

What free security programs are best suited to Windows Server 2008R2 running in VirtualBox?
I installed Windows Server 2008R2 comments in VirtualBox with a host of Windows 7. It is my first experience with servers. As part of the installation and configuration, I want to install a lightweight, reliable and user friendly program. Microsoft Security Essentials would be ideal if it is compatible as I am familiar with MSSE, and as its performance. My research to date is back of contradictory information about MSSE: incompatible, use the version for Vista/7, choose from a list.
I'm hoping to get a recommendation based on personal experience rather than a list of programs. I went through a list of compatible security programs, but I'm not familiar with most of the programs listed.
Thanks for your advice...

I'm trying to deploy the software driver for a portable production that will allow technicians to download configurations of profibus for CompactRIO profibus DP master-slave cards. I know I need support VISA and MAX in order to communicate with the device when it is in Slot 1.
I have a Windows XP computer I've used in the past for this and a 7 32-bit Windows development machine that can do as well. I guess I would need OR-Rio installed and more MAX and VISA, but I run in RIO the right software to install on this machine. Until I dig a hole more far than necessary can someone point me in the right direction of what is needed to install?
My development platform is LabVIEW 2010 with SP1. The development and the production laptop computer work all the two 32-bit Windows 7. The development machine has the following (and other) software:
LabVIEW 2010 (RT, FPGA modules) SP1
MAX 5.3.3
NI-VISA 5.2
NOR-RIO 3.6
We use Comsoft Configurator II 1.2.37
All reviews are much appreciated!
Matt,
I understand the suggestion about Profibus shake appeal reviewer, but I never mentioned the module Profibus - only the NI Compact RIO driver software.
Ryan,
I checked that the key and it is present and correct. Later during some additional tests, I'm done with several other installers throw similar messages. I've seen CVIRTEDIR and MAXAFWDIR as well.
I thought at this stage there was another really obscure registry entry who standing things upwards, so I tried to install it (s) even on another unit of the same configuration management. Installed LabVIEW Runtime Engine 2010 SP1f5, NI-VISA 5.2 (included OR MAX 5.3) and NOR-RIO 3.6.1 and everything works well for use with Configurator II Version 1.2 (September 2011 version 1.09 interface Comsoft TCP sockets, includes LabVIEW 8.6 run time engine).
In the past I could have resorted to the use of MSI-Blast to clean all the related registry NOR entered, but I couldn't get my hands on a copy and uninstall NOR has not removed the remains (it seems).
