What Windows settings or services likely to affect Firefox automatic update?

Automatic update works do not is a common problem but in my case, the culprit is probably not on the side of Firefox Firefox. I suspect this due to the fact that I can't upgrade almost any of my programs installed if they were launched during a session before the session is disconnected.

The thing is I disabled a number of Windows services and I see this behavior for probably as long as I use this configuration optimized. Here is a list of my services system as well as their boot options and the State.

I'm pretty sure I found the culprit at the service of the experience of the Application. Apparently if you have disabled Windows locks the particular executable in an overzealous manner.

I ran a windows vista family premium auto update and then I don't have a WiFi connection.  It is said that the Windows Wireless Service does not on my computer and when I try to start it, it says windows can not solve the problem.  I tried to restore the system before the update, however, I get an "unspecified error" does not restore to be completed.  I am very frustrated and need no help available if you please.  Thank you.

    Hello

First, check with the WLAN service is started and set to automatic, if the WLAN service is stopped, I suggest you to start the service and put it on automatic.

    Method 1:
Follow the steps to start the WLAN service.

    (a) click Start, type services.msc
    (b) select autoconfiguration WLAN service in the list, right-click on properties
    (c) change the startup type to automatic
    (d) click the Start button
    (e), click on apply, Ok.
    (f) restart the computer and check if it works.

The majority of connection in Windows vista problems have been resolved by installing the latest version of the driver for the NIC obtained from the manufacturer.

Method 2: Try to update the Wireless driver and check to see if the same problem happens.

    a. click on start

    b. right click on computer

    c. click Properties

    d. click on Device Manager on the left hand side

    e. in the list of hardware categories, find the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.

  • How to get a Windows Vista with Service Pack 2 pre-loaded drive?

    Vista SP2 installation disc

I have a DVD disc of installation for Vista Home Premium, 32-bit, with no SP. I bought it retail at Fry shortly after that Vista was released and have used this copy of Vista on an Intel D975XBX2 Mobo. I kept Vista updated with periodic downloads from Windows Update. I have a valid product key provided with the DVD of the installion said. For reasons which are not relevant, I lost the hard drive I was using with Intel MoBo975XBX2. Now, I'm doing a clean install on this MoBo Intel even using the original installation DVD. Because my installation DVD is obsolete, I can't complete installation.

I would like to get a DVD with SP2 installation of Windows. How can I do?

You pouvez integrate service packs in your DVD, but everything that it is placing the SPs in the update folder and adding their execution for the installation of Windows script, result being an RTM installation with automatic update for SP1 and SP2, therefore subsequently. Allows you to save a few clicks of the mouse after the initial Setup, but is probably the same that if you downloaded the SPs manually through Windows Update.

Install DVD with integrated SP2 are available through Technet. If the download is not free. But maybe you know someone who has access Technet, which might give you a disc?

    Hello

    1. have you downloaded the stand-alone package for the service Pack 2 or are you using Windows update?
    2. you also try to install Windows 7?

    Method 1.
Run Disk Cleanup and disable the security software and then try to install the same and check.
See the article below for disk cleanup:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310312
Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    Method 2.

  • "Database corrupt installation" - discovered after failures repeat the installation of automatic updates of Windows

We're running out of WinXP SP3.  Apparently, we are unable to install/uninstall anything correctly.  I think it may have something to do with "a basic installation damaged."  I got this error when trying to manually install KB972581 (a security update for 2007 Microsoft Office System).  This could have been caused by running the Windows Installer cleanup utility, I didn't have problems with Office 2007.  We were informed at all by continuing to upgrade with another program issues.

We daily use Outlook 2007.  Multiple users, so we can't delete it.

Same thing with KB970895 (update of security for SQL Server 2005 Service Pack 2) - another failure with the description of the error "Unable to install Windows Installer MSP file".

Basically, the automatic updates of Windows always fail.  Comprehensive research of these forums, I found and ran the Microsoft FixIt! # 50202, without result.

How can I fix anything that makes things installation fails?

I had a similar problem - resolved two things actually. First make sure yu have the latest windows installer engine. Then download the package fails and run interactive mode. This will give you the 'real' error which causes the failure so that you can correct it.

In my case it was a dependency on another file system that was resolved by running sfc/scannow - it's maybe not the question you... once again, run the full installation package and also to enablehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/223300 logging to track down issues...

I know that there are questions more old ones where Internet options can affect Firefox downloads. Mainly, I'm trying to see if the internet files, proxy, and ahead of the options in the Windows Internet Options will temporarily affect the latest stable version of Firefox.

I hope this helps.  You can always check these sites periodically and do not need WER to warn you of a problem (even if it is perhaps faster) - you can check manually.  WER serves a purpose and he gives notification of a problem (which is good), but not in the circumstances that you knew.  This is a "nice to have" feature - not absolutely necessary.  We can try testing again to see if we can find the problem with WER if you're at it - or you can simply leave it off and make periodic checks of manual (decision is yours).

  • What is the Ci service?

    Thank you to everyone.

Here's a good place to troubleshoot things found on Windows Services:

    http://www.blackviper.com/

You are looking for, if you use for example 32-bit XP SP3 and then click on the link:

Windows XP x 86 (32-bit) Service Pack 3 Service Configurations

You will see all the names of Services XP and much more information on them and you can go down even more to find more information about each individual Service, if he should be executed or not, can you do without it, etc..

If you run XP Indexing Service, it is probably slow your system down a bit and I will disable it usually, but we don't know anything about your system or what your question is or if you are simply curious.

If you need to share your events or ask questions about them, here's what I used to say:

To view the logs in Event Viewer, click Start, settings, Control Panel, administrative tools, event viewer.

A shortcut to the event viewer is to click on start, run and enter in the box:

    %SystemRoot%\system32\eventvwr.msc

Click OK to launch the event viewer.

The most interesting newspapers are usually the system and Application logs.

Some newspapers such as security and Internet Explorer may be completely empty or have just a few items.  The default settings for XP wants do not connect all this activity, unless you need to solve a problem in these areas.  If you enable logging for them the papers fill up quickly and could adversely affect the performance of your system with all the extras (often unnecessary) activity.

If you have Microsoft Office installed, it has its own newspapers, and they can be empty or occasional boring activity very little or, if there is no problem with your desktop applications.  It's normal.

Not every event is a problem, some are informational messages that things work very well, and some are warnings.

However, no event should defy reasonable explanation.

Each event is sorted by Date and time.  Errors will be red Xs, warnings will have yellow! s.

Informational messages have white is.  Not every error or warning event means that there is a serious question.

Some are excusable at boot time when Windows starts.  Try to find only the events to the date and time around your problem.

If you double-click on an event, it will open a window of properties with more information.  On the right are black up and down arrow keys to scroll through the open events. The third button that looks like two overlapping pages is used to copy the details of the event in your Windows Clipboard.

When you find an interesting event that occurred at the time of your question, click on the third button at the top and arrows to copy the details and then you can paste the details (right click, paste or CTRL-V) the text in detail here for analysis.  Remove all personal information from your information after you paste If you are forced to do so.

If you paste an event, it will look something like this annoying system startup event:

    Event type: Information
    Event source: Service Control Manager
    Event category: no
    Event ID: 7035
    Date: 14/07/2010
    Time: 17:54:18
    User: Jose
    Computer: computer

    Description:
The Remote Access Connection Manager service was sent successfully a starting control.

To get a fresh start on any log of the event viewer, you can choose to clear the log (the log backup is available), and then reproduce your problem, then just look at the events around your show and troubleshoot events that are happening when you have your question.

Try a startup repair, it sounds as if you have an error with the help user account to run the service.  Startup Repair may be able to fix this.  If this isn't the case, then you should try to repair the Installation.

Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings. For more information, see BIOS: frequently asked questions.
