  Please make sure that you work in 8 bits/channel and RGB mode. (Under Image > Mode > Select RGB and 8-bit per channel) lightning effects only works in this mode.

  Also in preferences > Performance > "Use Graphics Processor" must be checked.

  (a) update you are trying to install? (It would be better, if you can provide the number of KB)

  (b) are the other updates related to Windows from installing on your computer?

  I suggest you try the following steps:

  Step 1: Disable the software security and then try to install the update

  Note: Activate security software once the test is completed.

  Step 2: Download and install the update in the clean boot state

  To perform a clean boot on a computer that is running Windows Vista, follow these steps.

  1. click on start, type msconfig in the search box and press ENTER.

  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.

  2. in the general tab, click Selective startup.

  3. under Selective startup, clear the check box load startup items.

  4. click on the Services tab, select the hide all Microsoft Services check box, and then click Disable all.

  5. click on OK.

  6. When you are prompted, click on restart.

  After starting the computer, download the update manually and try to install it.

  Okay so basically when I insert a cd or dvd, it is trying to read but may not back drive on my computer or whatever it is. I looked for versions updated but found nothing, I have tried to re - install, but it still doesn't work. My drive is LG-CD-RW CED-8080 b and function device manager there is nothing wrong with the drive.

  I solved this problem.

  A few months ago, I created a Document Cloud account using an email address, and I was always connected to DC with this email address when I subscribed to the PDF Export product, with a different email address.

  In Acrobat Reader, I disconnected DC and sign in using the same email address I used when I subscribed to the PDF export. Now I can export without problems.

  To disconnect:

  In the upper right corner of Adobe Reader DC, I clicked on my name and click on Sign Out.

  I've been using lightroom for editing my pictures for about a year now.  First, I noticed the problem a few months ago, but did not bother to seek a solution so far.  Whenever I finish photo editing, I export it to my destination folder.  My problem is that when I go in the destination folder, I see several versions of the photo, even if I only export (save) once when I am fully satisfied with the modified final image.  For example, I'll see img_2222, img_2222-2, img_2222-3 and so on, sometimes up to 10 versions.  I also noticed that the images are a little different with the final image is the image with the largest number suffix (for example, img_2222-10).  I hope I am making sense here...

  As you can imagine, it's frustrating, because I end up spending an absurd amount of time to delete the versions that I don't need.  Is there any solution for this?  I searched all the settings and don't see even an option where I can record all the steps of my editing process images...

  Could you please share the Lightroom export settings by using a screenshot?

  When you export an image, Lightroom displays the top progress bar left referring to the number of images that are exported.

  This progress bar says exporting a photo when exporting?

  suggest you try to export to a new empty folder, and then check if it exports several versions.
