When Firefox will support Norton Identity Safe once again, really

Same issue as everyone else for the past two years. With each release, we beg to have the Identity Safe working again. We get no answer in response. Firefox is up to 50 version and still does not support Identity Safe as before. If you can not handle inserting the passwords like IE can, why should I trust Mozilla you can protect them? No need to answer until you have set. Firefox used to be a good program. There is nothing I want in Firefox that is more important than the ability to manage passwords. Nothing. So now I uninstall Firefox again.

I've read dozens of reviews. Nothing definitive. I don't mean anecdotal cases of a version that works. I can't even understand why Norton was a stand-alone product and an extension. Some users claim that one or the other (not obvious to me) doesn't seem to work. I wouldn't be writing questions if it worked for me. As I said in my post to you, unless there is a final solution (do not have to depend on some obscure answer in a Forum), there is no interest to my use Firefox. I hate IE, but at least I get offered password.

I recently updated to Firefox 12.0 and wanted to take advantage of Norton free offering their app Identity Safe. I am running Mac OSX 10.7.3 and when he took me to the mac app store, it loaded the extension in Firefox my Ribbon on top, but when I click it, it opens in Safari. It is not compatible with Firefox?

The site of norton said that it is compatible with firefox https://identitysafe.norton.com/, however, I can't find which version it works with. I would try to contact norton to find the exact version numbers, with which it works.

  • Norton Identity Safe in Norton 360 Version 5 does not work in Firefox 8.0.

Has been using Norton Internet Security 2012. Updated Norton 360 Version 5. Also updated Firefox to 8.0. Now the Norton Toolbar does not appear in Firefox, and the Norton Identity Safe is not accessible. Symantec asked me to run LiveUpdate, until all updates are applied; Yes, I did. The toolbar and Identity Safe are still not available in Firefox 8.0.

See the original statement of the problem: I bought and installed Norton 360 v5 (2012) as a replacement for Norton Internet Security 2012. I'm NOT under NIS12 or NAV12. It took 4 tracks of LiveUpdate for N360 to fully update. Now it works!

  • Why can't Norton Identity Safe compatibility be integrated into the latest versions of Firefox? IE seems not to have problems with it.

Firefox constantly asks me to upgrade to the latest version, which is not a problem as long as the new generation is compatible with applications that I serve throughout and rely on every day. I use the 40.0.3 version and it wants me to update to 41.0.2. If the Norton Identity Safe toolbar work with my current version of Firefox, what is the compatibility issue with a newer version of Firefox? IE does not appear to have this problem of update... which makes me consider the switch back to IE as my default browser. I rely on the Identity Safe to take care of my connection problems, and there is no need to deal with problems of incompatibility. I know I'm not alone in finding this aggravation with updates. (I use Win7 Home Premium, 64-bit).

Sorry, this is a change in the types of code Add - ons are allowed to include. It was supposed to change in Firefox 40, but at the request of vendors such as Symantec, it was postponed to 41 of Firefox. I don't think this change will flip over. Norton is working on a new version, but I understand that it takes longer than expected.

Here's what I suggest for users who need Norton password security features:

Instead of freezing your Firefox on a non secure version, consider using the Extended Support Release (ESR). It is designed for businesses that require a cycle time longer between changes to the features, but anyone can use it. ESR is currently based on Firefox 38. It will get updates of security over the coming months, but not to get new features, so changes in Firefox 41 concerning the compatibility of the add-on will not be out for a good time.

Norton is likely to continue to support the ESR until the new toolbar update is finished, maybe next month. After that, I don't know what they will do because normally they don't take over a small range of versions.

If you decide to try it, here's how I suggest to install:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 38.3.0esr of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) simply rename the program folder, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Fx41

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\Fx41

    (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Success?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \Fx41\Plugins
    • \Fx41\browser\plugins

  • Norton Identity Safe with Firefox

My Firefox updated today, and now I can't use Norton Identity Safe. After reviewing other issues, I've updated my Norton product via live update, but this has not solved the problem. Any suggestions?
According to the page Add on, I have 2013.4.0.10, do not know what version of Firefox

Unfortunately, I don't know anything about the inner workings of the norton liveupdate - it's just that their Web site indicates that the toolbar 2013.4.1.2 version is current. If you do not get this version of the addon despite running liveupdate repeatedly, you can try to contact norton support to get the product to work.

also if you use a version of comcast of the security product, judging by previous reports by other users, this could be always a few weeks late in updating calendar...

  • Norton Identity Safe is incompatible with Firefox 5 How downgrade to an earlier version that is compatible?

I've recently switched to Firefox as my default browser (previously Microsoft Internet Explorer - which was not very reliable), I have also recently upgraded to Version 5.0.1 but now cannot run Norton Identity Safe (or the Norton Toolbar). If it's not really compatible, I want to go back to an earlier version of Firefox to allow me to run Norton Toolbar and Identity Safe.
I would like your advice please.
    Thank you

See Norton for a fix. It seems that when they have updated their Firefox for 5 Firefox extensions, they not be providing for the possibility that a 5.0.1 release may be required.

The strange thing is that 5.0.1 was not even an update of ' for Windows & Linux. Other than the number, on these platforms 5.0 & 5.0.1 are exactly the same. Only users of Mac OSX has got the real update, that has been done to solve specific problems in Firefox caused by Apple in the new version of the OS 10.7 Lion last week, and an Apple update for 10.5 and 10.6 at the same time.

Only users who have downloaded a complete new installation of the package in the last week or two for Windows & Linux would have got Firefox 5.0.1 - and it's only because the Mozilla download servers run the same version number, it cannot provide 5.0.1 for Mac and 5.0 for Windows & Mac.

  • When Firefox will increase their HTML5 support?

Like, since Firefox 11 HTML5 support has not increased a little. As he supports 345 points. Like even when Opera and Safari to Firefox bulldozer with a pointer 376 and 385. Then FLAT Chrome Firefox, with 437 points. And even Internet Explorer is chasing Firefox like a cat and a mouse, with 319 points and counting. Like WHEN, Firefox will actually put some more effort in the construction of their HTML5 support?

He was always the work spent on increasing our support for the HTML5 standard. For example, from Firefox to Firefox 17 14.0.1 (still in development, the HTML5Test went from 345 to 383 The HTML5 standard is changing again, and still under construction. However, this is not the best place to discuss it. https://developer.Mozilla.org/ is the portal for developers for Firefox and covers all current HTML5 work.
