Previously, after doing my banking... I would like to click on tools, then Options and security would come where I could erase the "cache"... I think that it is an expression. Can someone clue me > thank you.
the options panel has been redesigned in firefox 38, however, the structure and all the options listed there are always the same.
If you are looking to clear the cache in the options, you will need to go to advanced > network as before--but it is much easier to do that, as mentioned in my previous answer... -
Then I tried to start Windows normally or in Mode safe and it does not work.
None of these advanced startup options work effectively.
When I turn on the laptop, the VAIO large appears and then Microsoft corporation and then a quick start of blue, then it tries to restart again again and again until I hit F8.
I hope this can be repaired. Thanks in advance for anyones help.

to stop multiple spam windows open when I click on a link
All of a sudden when I click on a link all kinds of spam windows open. I have 'Pop-up' windows defined on off... but, they always open... also suddenly online pages will have tons of highlighted words hough, they are links... and when I click on them, thinking that it is a link that's another annoying pop-up window. I checked my "plug-ins" and "add ons" and there is nothing I can find. I use Windows 7 and this problem just started this week. I performed a McAfee scan and found no virus... can help you?
These files are not supposed to be deleted. Quite possibly user.js (thanks for the heads-up jscher2000 on hidden file extensions. A movement bonehead by Microsoft) had a content in it that made all these pop-up windows. The user.js file is not there by default unless you did so it is safe to delete it.

When I click on a link on most pages, the word "connection" appears on the label, with a small rotating arrow, which remains like this for about 20 seconds.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.

I place the FireFox icon in the dock. When I click to open FireFox it opens two windows both to the homepage. When you click on a link in the email, it will open a window behind the first window rather that open in a tab. There used to be a preference re: opening links, but given that it was useful, it seems that Apple has removed this option unless it's hidden somewhere I can't find.
What you have is, in my view, two problems.
- Homepage
Type of topic: preferences #general< enter > in the address bar.
There are two settings;
- At the start of Firefox
When the browser is started, what you want
view. Many of us choose view my homepage.- Homepage
When a new page opens up, what do you want displayed.
- Use current Page. Use the pages that are never open at this time.
- Use the bookmark
- Restore by default. topic: Home shows a home page of Mozilla with tools.
You can use one of these as you want;
topic: Home (Default Firefox homepage),
on: newtab (displays the more visited sites),
Subject: vacuum (a blank page),or you can enter any web page or Subject: page you want.

Adblock Plus is originally an extra window open when I click on a link from Apple Mail.
When I click on a link from Apple Mail, an (empty) additional window opens. The problem seems to be related with Adblock Plus, because it happens when Adblock Plus is removed. Problem, all started yesterday (7/29).
This only happens with AdBlock? Very strange. AdBlock to block pop-ups.
Is there anything in the address of this window box?
It's on a website, several? -
Address in a new tab bar is empty when you click on a link in another tab
With the help of 39 FF with a MacBookPro Yosemite running.
For the last few releases, when I click on a link in a tab, the new tab opens to the correct Web site, but the address bar is empty. I can get it by clicking on another tab, then return (but it's boring). Any ideas?

Disable the feature of switching to tab, when you click on a link
When I click on certain links particularly in gmail, for example, if I get an email from youtube of a video being downloaded and I click on the video says, firefox opens this link in a new tab, but the problem is that it will automatically switch to this tab that I hate. This happens with the other links that want to open in a new tab for.
Switch to tab not more or go to the black list of the tab doesn't work. I got a fix for it in the comments: config page, but I've recently refreshed firefox and it removed the feature. preference, I don't want to use a plugin to solve this problem
(edited for clarity - c title)
Sorry, I'm distracted by the title of the question.
You can check the tab bar setting in Options/Preferences > tabs.
- [] "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately."
There are three prefs, accessible via the comments: page of config, to control the development, if you click on a link.
- browser.tabs.loadInBackground (normal links)
- browser.tabs.loadDivertedInBackground (javascript)
- browser.tabs.loadBookmarksInBackground (bookmarks)

not ask web pages uddenly that appears when you click on a link to
I'm on a Web page that I want and I click on a relevant link for more information about this page. The link opens correctly but so is another page that I did not and has no connection or interest to what I do. Then I have to cancel the unwanted page and one remains open. It's very annoying and can you please tell me how to stop it. It only started happening recently.
Thanks - I hopeI understand when you click a Web link within a site, two Web pages open instead of one. This looks like some kind of Adware and I would recommend looking for malware or reset Firefox (please understand that this will restore Firefox to its default values, and all customizations will be removed in a folder called 'Old Firefox Data' on the desktop)

When I click on a link, I get the address was not included
I use outlook. When I click on a link, I get a message that "the address was not understood. I need to open links.
Do you mean Outlook, the program which is part of Microsoft Office on your PC, or Outlook, the new Hotmail?
If you right-click > copy the location of the link and then paste it into the address bar, it starts with an unusual Protocol? I mean, something other than http or https? If so, Firefox cannot be put in place to open links with this Protocol. What is it?
