When I click on the Firefox icon in the taskbar it opens automatically to Google site

Firefox was installed in my computer by a friend of semi-pro and the icon is on the taskbar. When I click the icon to open Firefox, it goes straight to the Google site automatically. Why does that happen? And how can I change the settings so that it opens Firefox?

Have you tried the words: homepage Homepage if you prefer a page with a search bar?

You can use the search bar in the Navigation toolbar to do research if you don't have one open (home) page of the topic: homepage which has its own search bar.
