When I close Firefox my computer says it is still ongoing and I have to restart my computer to get Firefox to run... This is a first for me.
Every time I close Firefox and try restarting my computer leaves a message that I have Firefox running and that it does not and must be closed. The problem is that it is not a Firefox always running, therefore, it is impossible to close and therefore impossible to open it. I used all forms of Firefox and this is the first time that this has happened. Please, please don't force me to use Chrome or iExplorer!
Use "Firefox > output" (Windows: Firefox/file > quit;) Mac: Firefox > quit Firefox. Linux: Firefox/file > exit) to close Firefox if you are currently doing by clicking on the X close in the title bar of Firefox.
You can check if it is useful when you can start Firefox in Safe Mode by holding down the shift/Options key.

I don't know what other details I can give you. I'm not very computer wise. Just a web browser and Claris emailer daily. It is a problem of catch 22. For example when I install a program. flash player Adobe for example, it tells me to close firefox to continue and when I do I get the firefox still works the message even if there is no window. And if the installation is not complete. I love firefox but it kinda turns out to be a dealbreaker. hope you can help.
- Try this.
- Type in the bar of address about: config.
- Accept the warning.
- On the page that appears, in the filter box, type Network.http.Max - connections.
- Replace the value 32 (which is probably the value 256 in your case).
- Close the topic: config page.
- Restart the browser.

my plugin update checker has been working well, so I know this isn't the problem. the problem is that when I update my flash player id stops at 95% or 96% and will remain like that until I close firefox and when I close firefox it then finishes update, but then what fierfox reopens it says he has again updated. I've never had this problem before so why now?
Here is a screenshot and see the screenshot just copy and past this link http://i.imgur.com/MafjKdn.png
Hello courtney-jane16, the result of the plugin check page unforunatley is correct, there was yet another vulnerability discovered in adobe flash player 16.0.0.296 who is already exploited in the wild.
See the Security Advisory: https://helpx.adobe.com/security/products/flash-player/apsa15-02.htmlThere is no difficulty because it published by adobe again and the button to update the plugin check site lead nowhere at the moment - so it's best to put the flash shockwave ask to activate plugin in firefox addons > plugins Panel!

This has just begun. When I close firefox it tells me that I am closing multiple tabs. and will not let me save them. the only option is to cancel or OK. When I say OK and restart Firefox all my tabs go :-( This happens every time now. I know how to recover my old tabs but whenever I close Firefox it always warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs.
Tanks for help getting Firefox working properly again
JimDo not use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' to clear the 'browsing history '.
- Tools > Options > Privacy: history: [X] clear history of Firefox closing > settings
- https://support.Mozilla.org/KB/clear+recent+history
Using the "Show my windows and tabs from last time" is a more reliable way to restore the session data.
- Tools > Options > general > startup: "When Firefox starts": "show my windows and tabs from last time '.

When I got firefox and then you once again I get a message that firefox still works and I have to close my computer before again using firefox.
Just posted exactly the same question! I knew that the kill process solution existed and this, but feel that with supposed to be one of the best 3 browsers that is not necessary. For example the same would happen in IE or chrome. The hope of a more permanent solution.
Is it related at all to my choice of home page bbc.co.uk? Is it too Java/Javascript on this page, but even if it would be these other browsers react in the same way.
The smart answer why not try is fine, but I don't want to I want to continue with Firefox. -
When I close Firefox I get the reminder box that asks if I want to save settings and tabs on the next launch I check the Yes box, but he never save the settings or the tabs, function works very well on the desktop but not on the computer laptop windows 7
This has happened
Each time Firefox opened
== me remember not just started could have been after an update
If you use delete navigation, search and download history on Firefox in Firefox 3.5/6, or clear private data in Firefox 3 to clear the browsing history when Firefox is closed then in restaurant tabs at the last session (for example "save and exit" or "show my windows and tabs from last time ') does not work.

Lately when I turn on my computer, I get a message saying. "Windows mail can compact the message store. This can take up to a few minutes. "It looks like a real message of Windows but when I click on the link"Get help from communities", it does not work. I cancel or close the message, because I fear that the message can be fake and won't open my computer for a virus or worse. Anyone has any info on this particular message? I can't find anything in the help section of Windows. Thank you.
original title: compaction of the database messages

If the third file is deleted when I close firefox so I would like to install Flash player after isolate my personal files from the third party. Thanks in advance for your help.
I don't know that Firefox can or removes it Flash "local storage objects", which is the kind of storage of the data of the Flash Player asks questions on. There is an add-on for this, so I suspect that this is not automatic:

When I close Firefox, windows that were open when I closed Firefox are still open, when I click on a link to open a new window. I cleared my history and cookies and even uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but that did not work. I had this problem since upgrading to version 29. This isn't the only problem I have had with version 29. Anyone else had problems with version 29?
I ended up going in the settings to erase history and define it for clear history when Firefox closes and you select to erase history and kitchen and browsing history, the closing of Firefox. Now the links work very well and the last page I was watching until I closed Firefox is gone when it opens again. Problem solved!

A cmd / batch file windows appears when I close firefox for a few secconds, why?
When I close firefox pops up a CMD window and then disappears and firefox closes.
What happened just after Norton deleted a file because it thinking it was bad (when parsing of his own volition)
The file that opens the window is located here:
C:\Users\Robert\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\jkqm25xu.default
I think this is perhaps one of the sessionstore javascript files.Hello, you can try to reproduce this behavior when you start firefox in safe mode, once? If not, perhaps an add-on is the cause...

I had recently an update (or upgrade?) for 16 FF. Today (and I believe that the update has been done a day or two before?) my cache, cookies and history are not compensation when I close FF. In addition, some links may not work. No links to full web pages but for pop ups of site (as the engine of Smillie on a bulletin board). They worked a few days but do work not today. I click on the link and nothing happens. I noticed the problem with the cookies not compensation for a few weeks ago, but it was not only on a single site all sites which is what is happening now.
My apologies if this is a little confusing. Thank you!
I use fill form for private browsing is a bit complicated. I just put everything out when I close Firefox.
Nevertheless, it seems to have fixed itself and now works for the time being everything is good. I have no idea what happened, but it works.
Thanks for your replies!

Pop - up when I close firefox, it very often
Which may be caused by disabling cookies via "clear recent history".
- Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "Use the custom settings for history" > [X] clear history of Firefox closing > settings
- Firefox > history > clear recent history or tools > clear recent history
If you use "Clear recent history" to clear Firefox cookies also tries to clear cookies from plugins like Flash (LSO), and then starts a process plugin-container for each plug-in, and which can add extra time and can cause a script error does not appear.
Make sure that all plugins are up-to-date.Exclude cookies from "Clear recent history" to see if that helps.
Allow all cookies expire when you close Firefox to delete unwanted cookies and keep those with an exception permit.
Make sure that you do not erase the "Site preferences" because that will remove all exceptions.- Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "Keep until the": "closing of Firefox".

I looked in the 'Options' and I can't find a way to toggle this switch. I hope that this feature has not disappeared, because I use it all the time.
Versions of Firefox 4 + automatically record your session when you close Firefox. To restore your previous session click on the link of the Previous Session restoration on the subject: Home Home page or in the history menu.
