When I download a PDF file-it just came out with this language of gibberish gook that I don't know what to do with... what Miss me on my pc to translate that into something readable?
Whenever I have download word documents, they come out in a computer language, I don't know how to convert. I have adobe Flash player on my pc and tried to download adobe reader. Please help as it is very frustrating.
Thank you
A pdf file (which is a file with the pdf file of letters after the dot in the filename), can be read by installing the free software Adobe Reader (remember to uncheck the box to install McAfee Security Scan) or free Foxit Reader (frequent contributors here prefer the latter).
If you do not have Microsoft Word, you can read Word documents (files with the doc of letters or docx after the dot in the filename), by downloading and installing the free Word Viewer (read the doc files created by Word 2003 and earlier versions) and the free Office Compatibility Pack (reads the docx files, which are created by Word 2007 and later versions). If you choose to install these applications, be sure to visit Microsoft Update immediately after to be sure to get a needed updates.
Adobe Flash Player is not relevant to this question.
If you have problems to install Adobe Reader, please provide more information, including the full text of any error message, without paraphrase and the version and service pack of Windows you have (right click on desktop and select properties for more details).

When I download a pdf file, I used to be asked if I wanted to open or save. Now, the file is saved only. It's really annoying, because the file name of the saved file does not identify it somehow, and I find myself with a bunch of unknown files on the desktop. How can I go back to being able to view the file when it is downloaded (and so to save it on the spot with an understandable file and to an appropriate folder name)?
I know you hate Adobe, but this parameter does not have to do with Adobe at all, in fact... This is an internal setting of Firefox.
Anyway, change go to Tools - Options - Applications and enter "pdf" in the filter field. Change the action associated with this type of file to do what you want, in this case always 'ask '.

I'm on a 64-bit Windows 7 Pro computer and just upgraded to the most recent Adobe Acrobat Reader DC. When I open a PDF file a window opens saying "the application could not start (0xc0000005). Click OK to close this application"I click OK and the window opens up again about three or four times before it finally stopped. My PDF file is then visible. This is driving me crazy! I tried to use "Repair Installation" in the Menu Help, but it has no effect. I downloaded and installed the latest update - and this miserable message keeps popping up! Before you do a system restore to revert to the previous version, can someone please tell me how to solve this problem? Thank you very much.
Hello
There might be a chance of the previous version left overs. Try uninstalling Acrobat using cleaning tool: http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then try to reinstall it and then see if that solves the problem.

I have found this problem with 2 different browsers, but had success with a 3d. I noticed that the file on Firefox was with Zoom Downloader download. Could be the problem? (Don't know whence came the Downloader Zoom). I use Firefox 18 and Win 7.
Try to delete the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all the actions file.
- http://KB.mozillazine.org/File_types_and_download_actions#Resetting_download_actions
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the start safe mode window or make changes.

When I download a PDF file from my browser it converts it to a word document automatically.
How can I fix it?
Nope. It is not "convert" because a browser can not do with a download.
This is a file association.
Right-click on a downloaded PDF file and choose "Properties".
Where it says, 'Open with', select drive from the menu drop down. (You may need to browse to find in C/Program FIles(x86)/Adobe/Reader11.0/Reader)
Click 'Apply' then 'OK '.
A PDF file will open with the reader.

You can download the html files: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/actionscript/references.html

Why several download windows pop up when I download a PDF file or other file?
Whenever I try to download a file (PDF, JPG, DOC), which was attached to an email (I use Outlook WebMail) the document will download very well HOWEVER eight (8!) or more to download windows pop up as if I tried to download that file eight times (or more).
So I 'X' by each window after downloading a file. This is the same file on each pop-up window.
Since it is a new problem, I tried to turn off the computer and put back in operation but failed.
Firefox 26.0
Any help... PLEASE, I BEG YOU!
Hello
Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.
(If you use it, switch to the default theme).
- Under Windows, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
- On Mac, you can open Firefox 4.0 + in Safe Mode holding the key option key when starting Firefox.
- Under Linux, you can open Firefox 4.0 + with leaving Firefox then go to your Terminal and running Safe Mode: firefox-safe-mode (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)
- Or open the Help menu and click on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item while Firefox is running.
Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "
If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. To do this, please follow article Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems .
To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.
When find you what is causing your problems, please let us know. It might help others who have the same problem.
Thank you.

When I download pictures of "my pictures" my camera they will not go where I want that they
Despite the use of XP and 'my images' for years without any problem all the photos from the camera appear individually instead of going in an existing folder or a new one. I spilled a few large files, thinking that it is perhaps a matter of space, but there is no difference!

Help please
'Busy media' maybe, maybe your drive innitializing the selected track ready to play. It hangs on media busy for a long time?
Strange behavior like this can be corrected with a reboot. Take the battery out while your device is still lights up. Wait 20 seconds or two, then re-inster your battery. Wait reset through (about 5 minutes). See if that helps. If this isn't the case, sorry, can't help still. A reboot solves a lot of problems.

I get the above error message when I try to download a pdf file to my player adobe, how to fix this?
Thank you, Rick. (nagpie1 and malatel: this thread is only for Ricky63.) Please leave this thread and start your own son.)
I see that you have Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 3 level. Ok. :-)Go to this page:Click the custom button. Wait a bit...If you have in fact all your patches security post-SP3 installed, then you will see this message:High priority updates
No priority updates for your computer are available. To select other updates, use the options on the left.
Can you confirm? In addition, do NOT choose to install the optional updates that are available! They are rarely necessary, and they often cause problems! Also, you need to let us know if you have the version the recent Adobe Reader or not. As I mentioned earlier, the current version is 10.1.3. If you run Adobe Reader and select "about...". "in the drop-down Help menu, you can see which version you are using. That being said...There has been a lot of recent reports with people having all kinds of problems with Adobe Reader. My recommendation is to uninstall, and then run the tool to remove here:Then, install a free PDF reader senior (and less of a problem):
