  I have the same problem exactly as described Flashimator don't except this: the problem occurs only when I am logged into the administrator account.  Support seems to work normally in my user account.

  I should add that my HP laptop has an OEM program which seems to be an overlay on the Windows Help.  It is also not available in the administrator account.

  I use Windows 7 Ultimate and I'm trying to back up the database of Northland under the C:\Program Files directory and I get an error message indicating "you don't have permission to save in this location.  Contact the administrator for approval. "I can't even save a text file to this place, so it has nothing to do with Windows Explorer.   It is well known problem UAC (User Account Control) in Windows 7 that prevents you from storing data in system folders. You have these options:

  • Change the database so that it stores its files in a different folder.
  • Get a 7-compatible Windows version of the program.
  • Turn off UAC (not recommended)
