When I go to download a PDF document, tabs begin to open continuously. What should I do?

When I go to download a PDF file, tabs begin to open continuously. And I never get the file because the tabs just keep opening.

You get tabs for opening constantly if you select the Firefox program to manage a file when you get an 'Open with' dialog box.
You should never choose Firefox as the application to handle a file.

You can rename (or delete) the file mimeTypes.rdf in the profile folder of Firefox to reset all the actions file.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:

  • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
