When I hit + to open a new tab, I always get Yahoo. How can I stop this?
When I click on the sign plus (+) symbol to open a new tab in the Firefox tab bar I always get the homepage of Yahoo and impossible to get a blank tab. No matter what I do, I always get from Yahoo. How can I get Yahoo go away? Or better yet, how can I kill Yahoo?

A new tab opens by default like a Virgin tab (topic: empty).
If this isn't the case, then an extension has changed this behavior.

When I open a link that opens a new Firefox window, it opens 2 tabs instead of one. A tab is the link that I opened and the second tab is just a generic Mozilla tab with links to 12 pages like Facebook, Youtube, etc. This tab opens on top too, so I always have to close to get what I'm looking for. Hello. Thanks for all the posts on this topic. I have the same problem, as described by the op. But, while I use Avast, I have NOT the add-on from Astromenda which has been mentioned. However, I have the SB installed toolbar, and it has been recently updated, 29/12. I suspect that it is the culprit, if this problem is in fact not caused by an update of Firefox (my tiles have recently been reset on new tabs, and I suspect that Firefox for this problem).
I am ready to remove the toolbar from the SB, but prefer to keep it (Yes, I admit I'm stupid) If this annoying 'new window = 2 tabs with 'new tab' at the top' would just leave.
Apart from the removal of the toolbar SB... does anyone have suggestions? I don't see that all recently added add-ons/extensions that I don't recognize, apart from the update of the toolbar of SB.
Updated: 5 minutes after this announcement, I disabled the toolbar of SB and restarted Firefox. No change.

the file that I work on is 2560px width and saving in png or jpeg format the width of the file passes to 2076 px width.
Check that all the basic stuff but can't find any mistake. But when the device is changed when I open .psd on another mac and save it in the format png or jpeg, it works very well.
You can try to denigrate the Photoshop preferences and default reset and see if that helps.

Could it be caused by an add-on? You might want to try the Mode without failure of Firefox. It is a standard diagnostic tool in order to avoid interference by extensions (and some custom settings). More info: questions to troubleshoot Firefox in Safe Mode.

Help > restart with disabled modules (Plugins like Flash will still work)

When I open the file Downlad box in Firefox (v28) and asks me to select a file to download... as I click to scroll down the download file box things work well... then all of a sudden things scroll down (fast) at the bottom of the download file by itself.
