When I move a JPEG in a folder is no longer visible and he always shows as jpeg.

Note: I can't delete it or change the name... says access denied... and I am the administrator of my computer.

In addition, some art work that I save as a jpg file of paint... not even in a folder does not show the image, but shows that it is there.

Unable to modify or delete either. And have lost access to view and/or print.

I have thousands of photos and it affects only about 30 in my photo folder.

Thanks for the help

Hello

Follow these steps and check if it solves the problem:

a. log in the computer with an account that has administrative credentials. If you are running Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition, you must start the computer in safe mode, and then log on with an account that has administrative rights to access the Security tab.
b. If you are using Windows XP Professional, you must disable Simple file sharing.
c. right click on the file/folder you want to take control and then click Properties.
d. click on the Security tab and then click OK on the security message (if one appears).
e. click Advanced and then click the owner tab.
f. in the name list, click your user name, click Administrator, if you are logged in as administrator, or click the Administrators group. If you want to take ownership of the contents of this folder, select the Replace owner of subcontainers and objects to check.
g. click OK and then click Yes when you receive the following message is displayed:
You are not allowed to read the contents of directory folder_name. Do you want to replace the the directory permissions with permissions granting you full control?
All permissions will be replaced if you press Yes.
h. click OK, and then reapply the permissions and security settings that you want for the folder and its contents.

    Generally no.

How many memory currently have installed? How did you buy?
Did you buy exactly the same type, brand, model, etc. ?

Why do you want more memory? Depending on how much you have now, and
What applications you are running, it may or may not do anything for you. More memory
is this not better for everyone. This is my standard message on this
    Object:

The amount of RAM you need to good performance is * not * a
unique situation for all. You get good performance if the amount of
RAM you have prevents you from using the file page in a meaningful way, and
It depends on what applications you are running. Most of the people a typical range running
Enterprise XP applications find that somewhere around 512 MB
works well, others need more. Almost everyone will see poor performance
with less than 256 MB. Some people, especially those who do things
as modification of large photographic images, can see an improvement in performance by
adding even more 512 MB - sometimes much more.

If you currently use the page file significantly, more memory
will reduce or eliminate the use and improve your performance.
If you do not use the pagefile significantly, it will make more memory
    nothing for you. Reach
WinXP - 2K_Pagefile.zip and monitor your use of the page file. Who should
give you a good idea of more memory can help and if so, how
    lots more.

    > I went to Disk Defragmenter, and he always says that I have 35% of free space.  The new memory will change this amount?  Or is it important?

You have 35% of your hard drive free. It's disk space, also called
storage. It is not memory, what is RAM. Adding memory will not make
any changes to the available disk space.

    Hello Greg,.

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

I would like to know some information about the problem so that we can help you better.

You did any hardware or software changes to your computer before the show.

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

This problem may occur because of the corrupted Windows files or incorrect registry settings.

To diagnose the problem, check if the problem occurs in safe mode.
    Refer to this article:
Start your computer in safe mode
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=Windows-7

Safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

Please refer to the suggestions of Mr Andersen replied on September 4, 2010 and check the problem with folders.
    https://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-files/renaming-folders-causes-item-not-found-error-in/e2cf38c7-9e77-4256-89DE-6308df53d5f9

Note: Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, click on the number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

    I hope this information helps.

Please let us know if you need more help.

    Thank you

  • How to move or rename the music folder?

I have a 50,000 ranked songs and thousands of podcasts, mixes, music videos or applications.

I understand that the so-called gel and iTunes questions all trolling are down to a large enough or maybe completely stupid thing that is the 'keep the organized library option '. That doesn't make a sense, is impossible to run (it would take days, and of course, it freezes the whole computer), put the files where you didn't ask whether they are and then don't know how to recover.

Because I am enjoying a summer break, I clean my readers and so I decided to do a cleanup, rename and move my music folder that contains all my music classified by artists alongside the iTunes folder.

Fortunately for me I have zero confidence for Apple, as they were ISIS, so I hold the number and the location of the files because I realize that of course when a play one music it plays very well because itunes detects the song even though she move which it is supposed to do with finder file system.

But then I restart iTunes to test and here you have this infuriating, incomprehensible problem "song not found" with all my songs, and even if I indicate the new positioning of the library this shit of iTunes is unable to find the songs and it will probably take years to re-index, as iTunes was even able to this without * computer.

So: How can I move/rename my file without iTunes * up to the library and the paths of the music? Or is there any decent replacement for this * software yet? I have a lot of things and people to manage just in music, even if I used it for 15 years I don't have the patience to endure this * voluntarily, Apple seems to make it worse every update, more.

I assume that you use the application overview.

I can't find an answer to back up everything, but a workaround could be while the file menu options are visible, press the option key

and the point of the window will become close, if you click on that dialogue will ask you if you want to restore the changes or save

pressing Save will close the image with the changes and then move to the next image and so on.

Older versions of PowerDesk Pro 7.x are known to cause explore crash, so that the sounds on the right.

The current version of PowerDesk Pro is 8.5.

You might be able to get the old version to behave by disabling PowerDesk one shell extensions at a time until when you right-click Explorer no longer crashes.  This will leave you with limited functionality of PowerDesk since those afflicted extensions will be disabled, but you should not have these extensions to do anything, you need to make sheets.

I would start with the PowerDesk ZIP shell extension (I already know about this one).

It is a version shortened and changed my notes on the use of ShellExView (since you already think sheets):

Download ShellExView here to see what Explorer extensions you have loaded:

    http://www.NirSoft.NET/utils/shexview.html

ShellExView does not install anything on your computer, simply of runs and displays.

After launching ShellExView, under Options, choose "Mark non-Microsoft Extensions" and extensions not Microsoft will be pink, clear, but on some systems which is a difficult color to see, so click on display, choose the columns and move the column Microsoft closer to the top, so you can see on your screen without having to scroll left and right.

Click on the column header for Microsoft sort display (by clicking on the column of Microsoft) then all the non Microsoft extensions are on top and easy to see.

Non-Microsoft extensions would be things you have added (non-Microsoft) and are what you should be suspect.

You can also Google the name of a suspect add-on and see if there is any success on the mistakes of the DEP and what other people have done about it.

For example, you could Google something like:

Explorer XP crashing (you must fill in the name of add your suspect on.)

See what kind of search results hits you get and are looking for solutions or situations that sound like yours.

Right click and disable Microsoft no suspicious extensions one at a time take a list so you can enable them again later if you wish.

The result of the change is immediate and no reboot is necessary.  Test your failure condition.  If the Explorer starts to behave, you will know which extension is the culprit, then you can start to enable them one by one until the Explorer fails again.

Don't forget - disabling the extension does not uninstall the extension - it is just disabled so you can always turn it on again.

Disable them one at a time until your right click on do not generate an error, then restart and test again.  You have disabled the last extension would be suspicious.  You can then start to reactivate other extensions to zero on the extensions that are causing your accident

If the cause of the accident is a third party application or program, their may be a later version of the program available that solves the problem.

If you find the offending extension that's the problem, please let us know what it is that I can add to my list.

  • How copy/paste or copy/move a file to another folder in Windows XP

I need to copy/paste or copy/move the files from one folder to program existing to another folder.

Use the movement commands to copy do?

    Hi Jimmyjack1941,

I suggest you to read the following articles for more information.

These are the items if you use the Windows Explorer to perform operations:

To copy a file or folder

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_fcab_copy_file.mspx?mfr=true

To move a file or folder

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/windows_fcab_move_files.mspx?mfr=true

You can follow these commands to move and rename the file or folder using the command prompt:

Moves files and renames files and directories.

To move one or more files:
    MOVE [/Y | /-Y] [drive:] [path] file1 [,...] destination

    To rename a directory:
    MOVE [/Y | /-Y] [drive:] [path] dirname1 repert2

    [drive:] [path] file1

Specifies the location and name of the file or files you want to move.

    destination

Specifies the new location of the file. Destination can consist of a drive letter and colon, a directory name, or a combination. If you move a single file, you can also include a file name if you want to rename the file when you move it.

    [drive:] [path] dirname1

Specifies the directory you want to rename.

    repert2

Specifies the new name of the directory.

    /Y

Deletes the request for confirmation that you want to replace an existing destination file.

    Y

Causes of request for confirmation that you want to replace an existing destination file.

The switch /Y may be present in the COPYCMD environment variable. This can be derived with / y on the command line. Default value is quick to replace unless is running of command MOVE within a command script.

    Example:

    move c:\windows\temp\*.* c:\temp

Move the temporary directory c:\windows\temp files in the root, this is of course assuming you have the windows\temp folder.

Note: Microsoft does not move the files/folders installed application.

    Hope this information helps.

  • Delay of the dialog 'Copy the file' when you drag a file to a folder that already contains.

Delay of the dialog 'Copy the file' when you drag a file to a folder that already contains.  The dialog box only appears when that I disconnect.  In fact this problem can seriously mislead the user. The file has been copied to or not? This is a serious shortcoming of the operating system.
A similarly delayed dialog box is to join files on a send to the recipient of the message.

What is the cause of the delay? Dialog boxes are not under other windows - they break on screen as I log out.

When I drag AGAIN the same file in the same folder, then I get a message that "the action cannot be completed because the file is open in another program.  (No doubt the program who was trying to copy in the first attempt and waits for a response to the dialog box may not show me!)

    Lorien, thanks for your response.
A lot of time and effort was exercised in an attempt to find out WHY. I wanted to not just fix the symptoms. It concerned me greatly as a basic function of the operating system does not work. He was not fit for purpose. In the end I found that a third-party application compromised of WINDOWS VISTA 32-bit operating system. If an operating system can not reliably inform the user that an operation is successful or not, it is worthless. In the case above, I didn't move the files was a success (no response required) or the delayed response until I signed.

In addition to the original problem, there was the following problem: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistanetworking/thread/24068518-31e0-4b23-823b-d54882792301 where "send to..." 'Recipient' disable the context menu in Explorer for JPG does not or not broken.

Finally, I figured out the following error had something to do with my problems:

So I downloaded the MS debug tools and confirmed my suspicion of dllhost.dll using REGEDIT to set debugging on that.
To cut a long story short, it's DivX 7.2 which caused me grief.  In particular, the file DivXDecH264.ax 'has an access violation - code C0000005 (first chance).  It has been autonomous in DivX Plus DirectShow Filters.     Thus, when it has been deleted (starting other Articles to original install DivX) through Control Panel of configuration/programs and features my system worked perfectly well.

I know SFA on the architecture of Windows but why was this DivX file loading and cause an access violation whenever I used the windows Explorer?  How an operating system may fail in a basic function of by a third party issue?  There are some newspaper where this access violation was recorded?  It was only possible to identify it in debugging?

  • Error messages when you move files PSE13 and PSE14

I am reorganizing my records of PSE 14.1 (and a few hours before using the PES 13) on Windows 10. This means that I'm moving them from one disk to another using the view of folders on the left panel of the PES.

Everything goes very well with the first shift after the launch of PSE. No error message and the files in the folder find you in the right place with the folder.

But for much of the subsequent move there is several error message boxes that must be pressed one by one to move forward. Much more than the number of files involved. However, ultimately files and folders get into their expected places. But with dozens and dozens of needless (?) Click on the OK button.

Error messages that I see are

    • "A folder with the same name already exist in the requested location" - which is patently false, as I'm only moving called records and verifying that I won't have existing folders with the same name instead of the target. The record was 16 photos inside and the message popped up 55 times.
    • "The operation could not be performed. "The error occurred because of invalid characters, read only location or existing folder with the same name"-this comes very often after the message stated above, but not always. And in multiples as well.

And every now and then the move operation is going well through.

I tried to understand if there is a model - but nothing so far... I use no "special characters" in the filenames etc...

Is there another way to move the folders? Is there a solution to this behavior?

Looks like I have at least found a way easier and more predictable and easier to reorganize my files: travel using Windows file / folder management tools-, then to reconnect files from PSE. In this way, I know how many dialog boxes, I need to treat every step - and it is much less than the way PES...

Yes, it was what I was going to suggest it.

I did not PSE14 because I'm away from home now. I've already met these messages before, and I think you are right that the first time you move a folder to a new empty destination tree, you do not have problems. I would not be surprised if there was a real bug in the display of folders when you move files repeatedly, but I was not able to reproduce the problem. A possible source of problems would be the way the folder hierarchy is updated in elements; I guess that to keep this folder updated tree, there is a procedure of "cache" to speed up the process (folders display in the tree should work with an image of the Explorer, supplemented by information in the catalog itself). Older versions were very buggy in folders view, but I'm not sure that the current version (since PSE11) is absolutely foolproof.

Move the folders step by step from the Explorer and reconnect immediately seem to be the best in your case.

  • Why is it when I save as jpeg photoshop changes the color.

When saving an image in jpeg photoshop changes the color. also if I save the same image in the same folder a quality jpeg and the other in tiff format, when I discover the jpeg first, then scroll to the other image, that both of them have the same green change desaturated color but if I find the first tiff, then highlight the JPEG then two of them are very good. I can't find out what is the problem and why whoever I find first would make a difference. When you view the tiff, first of all, images are displayed on a white background and if the JPEG is opened first, they appear on a black background. I can't get my head around this help would be appreciated. Congratulations in advance.

The jpeg format has integrated Adobe RGB.

The PNG is untagged (has no color profile embedded).

Convert to sRGBand make sure that the sRGB profile is embedded in the file.

  • Can you move a file from one folder to another without losing the non-destructive updates

Hi my hard drive is organized so that each of the topics, for example Le Mans 2006, takes place in a separate folder, with a number of subfolders, as negative that hold my files raw which are never affected, in turn, processed, etc. Twenty top. So I move my files from subfolders. When I try to do that in LR, I get a warning message that seems to say that if I move the file I lose the details of non-destructive changes. If this is true then I can see LR add to my workflow, not improving it. Is it possible to get a shift of folder in the catalog without losing data?

    Hi ovonel

You will lose not no editing, as you did on the picture when you move the File. You can always undo any changes made to your image (non-destructive editing) in the history panel in the develop module. The content of your Raw file is not affected.

The warning below is just saying that Ctrl (command) + Z will not void. . It moves the file to the original location too. (of course, you can move the file back to the previous location)

    Hope that helps
