When I open a new tab, a search page is coming instead of a blank page. Browser.newtab.URL is correct. What now?
My browser.newtab.url = about: blank was successfully set. I always get a search page of Bing referring to "express files. I uninstalled the urging of files specifically, but the page always reappears on a new page. I also checked the Add-ons in firefox, but nothing is there
You can use one of them to start Firefox in safe mode:
- On Windows, hold down the SHIFT key while starting Firefox with a double click on the shortcut to the desktop Firefox
- On Mac, hold the Options key when starting Firefox
- Help > restart with disabled modules
If it works in Firefox Safe mode and then disable all extensions (Tools > Modules > Extensions) and then try to find out who is causing by allowing an extension at a time until the problem reappears.
Close and restart Firefox after each change through "file > exit ' (Mac: ' Firefox > leave";) Linux: "file > exit ')

When I open a new tab, I'm on it to open it with Google Search.
When I open a new tab, I'm on it to open it with Google Search. How can I change this?
Hi, 41 of Firefox, you must use the add-on tab override (browser.newtab.url replacement), to make changes to the page tab.
Once installed, open the Add-ons (Ctrl + Shift + A) Manager > Extensions, and then look for the new tab override and click Options to set your preference.
Notice, if you want only the new tab to be the same as your home page, you can use the Add on new tab homepage instead.
You will then need to restart Firefox for all changes to take effect.
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

When I click on + to open a new tab, this tab shows only the address bar, no search box! This problem is created suddenly. Previously, this problem, when I opened a new tab it shows google search box and the address bar. Now, the address bar of the new tab worked for both page looking box and address bar.
I followed: config process and it's worked. But, when I start my computer after a few more hours I see this problem! What can I do? Please tell me.
I have attached a picture of your understanding.
I wouldn't try a reinstall immediately. An ordinary reinstall often not made the changes that it would bring.
user.js file will be a small file in your profile and contained text. If copy you and rename user . txt or user.js.txt it will be readable by any word processor, even if Notepad can open it is.
- Background info see http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file
Paste the content in your next reply. He can give us some clues as to what is happening.
In fact the user.js file will change behavior of Firefox and you want to simply rename temporarily; instead of renaming a copy; in order to disable and see what happens.
Just another thought the usual options used for newtabs
- Subject: white - it's a plain blankpage, no bar to search it.
- Subject: newtab - currently by default has a search bar and the tiles
- topic: home - a search bar and some settings icons etc
You can try one of these out by typing in the address bar Subject: House or whatever, (or try on: subject).
It is has two troubleshooting steps simple which will help, but you don't seem to have tried yet.
First, try fashion without failure of Firefox.
For example, in now the SHIFT key when you click the icon to start FirefoxThe second interesting to try procedure is to create a new additional profile for test purposes. Which erases most of the settings and not be affected by file user.js or interfere with your existing settup. You get the choice what profile to use when you start Firefox.

Search for Babylon keeps opening in my section new tab when I open a new tab.
I went through most of the questions that have been answered here with other sites where I found on Google, I tried everything and I can not remove Babylon Search Engine as the page that is displayed with that I opened a new tab. I do not understand how to solve this problem and that he it is annoying at several levels.
If it's in your extensions, go to tools > Modules > extensions > identification of Babylon and uninstalling
go to Subject: config type Babylon , and then with right-click on each, you can find select reset
also as noted above, config, find browser.newtab.url and change in about: newtab or about: blank or the page that you want to open when you open a new tab.

I want the homepage to search Google to open when I open a new tab instead of the default generic search box. How can I change what opens when I open a new tab?
Why not use the built-in engines, Google is one of them, and it is the default search engine. You can have the results of your search automatically open in a new tab, and your links on the Google results page each open in a new tab.

If I press ctrl + t to make a new tab, the new tab load a bing search bar. Why? Why isn't there a blank window? When I open the new tab, the cursor is moved in the address to the search bar bar. It is inefficient to me, because I know the site I'm looking and haven't really needed to search. Is there a way to change this? It actually discourages me to use FireFox and I prefer just to solve this problem.
You have sort of a Bing extension or an extension 'search help' installed, what has changed the new blank tab to Bing.

Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions of the origin of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

When I click on the new button tab, a small cross, opens the new tab, it displays another page in search of sites, not my home page. I can't find the place where to tell him to open my homepage on all new tabs that are open from the tab bar.
The basic build Firefox always open a blank page when you open a new tab.
Maybe some Add on that you have changed this feature of Firefox which opens now all tabs in a different page. Here's what you need to do.
Open Firefox-> go to Menu help-> select "restart with disabled modules.
Firefox closes, then it will open with Firefox comes from base. The tabs will now open to a blank page. You can enable add-ons again and check if its not working properly.

When I opened a new tab opens a Bing search windos rather og a blank as he used to
When I open a new tab, it opens a Bing search window instead of a blank as he used to.
When FF starts, it opens a blank page as it should, but if I click on the sign + to the right of the current tab is when the Bing tabs open. It's just a search engine Bing not the homepage of Bing. If necessary, I can submit a screenshot of the new page.
I use 2 addons affecting the tabs. Multiple Tab Handler and colorful tabs.
