When I open my pictures folder I can't image, what I see is a generic file name... Y at - it an option that I can use if I can see my photos without having to open it? __

There is none

When I go to the images and select views and select Extra Large icons, I can see the images above the file name.  Frankly, I don't know how to avoid having the picture show, even though I never wanted that.  He has no control, I know to show representations of just generic file or show pictures showing images being the default value.  Maybe something is happening with your system.  If this does not work, after return and we will try to solve the problem.

Good luck! ICCC Lorien - One - MCSE/MCSA/network + / A +.
