When I press my scroll wheel to the automatic scrolling feature, it turns off the display. This just started recently. This does not happen on Chrome. Help?

I tried to uninstall firefox and then put it back. It did not help.
The only thing I can think that I could have done is... I use a program to find and remove unnecessary files and eventually I put away a necessary file? But I've used it in the past several times, and firefox has not been affected.
I'm on Windows XP.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.
