I love the browser, but often, when I shut down and "X" on each page of firefox, at least one copy of firefox continues to run invisible in the background.   I checked on I.E. and I had no problem with that, then I guess it's a firefox issue.

  Try the Firefox Safe Mode to see how it works there. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.
