  I'm in the market for a new desktop computer and want to do a lot of video editing (using Roxio and Vegas Movie Studio).  I want to know the specifications to ask.  I need to know if it is better to get a 64-bit operating system processor AND... OR... a 64-bit processor and a 32-bit processor or should I just stick with 32-bit systems?   I'm afraid that my drivers and existing software may not be not compatible with 64-bit processors.  I want a system that will be able to also change the HD videos.

  If you have forgotten your password, if you have another user who has administrative privileges account you can log in to that account and change the password of your account of origin of the user accounts applet in Control Panel. If you do not have another account like this set upwards or that you do not have the password which you will need to log on to the built-in Administrator account. In XP Home, start the computer in Mode safe. This, by repeatedly pressing the F8 key as the computer starts. This will put you in the right menu. Navigate using your arrow up; the mouse does not work here. Once in safe mode, you will see the normally hidden administrator account. The default password is white.

  In XP Pro, you don't need to go to Safe Mode. In the home screen, do Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to get the classic Windows logon box. Type in "Administrator" and the password that you assigned when you set up Windows.

  If you reset the password of the account administrator integrated into house or have Pro and don't remember the password, use NTpasswd to change the password of the built-in to a white administrator account.   If I understand your message, by updating your Mac you have forced stop, or you have closed the lid, and now it does not start.  To start, I suggest that try you to start in safe mode by following the instructions below.  For later use, it's a good idea to not force the computer to shut down or close the lid while it is up to date, because it can cause problems.

  1. Choose the Apple menu > shut down.

  2. After your Mac stops, wait 10 seconds, then press the power button.

  3. As soon as you hear the startup tone, hold down the SHIFT key.

     You must press the SHIFT key as soon as possible once you hear the startup tone, but not before.

  4. Release the SHIFT key when you see the gray Apple logo and progress indicator.

  To exit safe mode, restart your Mac, but no press during the startup.

The other (which does not always correctly) is supposed to leave programs and data intact.
