When I right click on the desktop and get the menu drop down and go again, the 'Record' option is not available. How can I get that back?

I tried to solve this problem with "Folder Options" in the control panel of Windows 7 but I did help and I "' reset all the original settings, which did not help either.

I can't create new folders in any other folder either. Even the "New folder" option in the toolbar does not have what it is supposed to do, namely to create a new folder.

    This result shows that the "My Documents" icon on your desktop is a shortcut and not the actual file with your documents.  The icon on your desktop has a blue arrow, like this:

    If you delete this icon, you should get a message like this:

    As long as the 'shortcut' word is in the message "Are you sure", everything you delete is a shortcut and not your actual files... so go ahead and delete it.  You can then create a new shortcut or just use the 'Documents' shortcut located on the start menu:
