When I try to download Firefox to my laptop Win 8.1 I get the configuration of Fire Fox page and green bars rolling on the words "Download Firefox" but after an hour the bars are always rolling, but there is no download.

Fire Fox has run on the laptop but disappered a few days ago.

I should be grateful if you would help solve this problem.

  • When I try to download Firefox on my mac all that get is a black page and no way to get support.

I got Firefox as my browser since Version. 3.2. a few weeks ago, he began to reject any page that had Adobe Flash rendering it useless. I guess that my copy of Firefox was bad for trying to replace it. Mozilla/Firefox wouldn't let me. So I got rid of him and tried to download a new copy. All I get is a black tab window, see attachment. I can't add troubleshooting information because I deleted all files in Firefox.

I tried for weeks support assistance. Total zero. This is no way to run a business.

I'm at the end of the roll.

Regarding the download of Firefox will now. After clicking on the download button, I get the black screen. There is no evidence that he even tried to download. I don't even have a partial dmg. Absolutely nothing.

In your screenshot, it seems that Safari tries to display the .dmg file, which, of course, is not useful if you need to save to disk.

I'm not familiar with Safari, but I guess that if you do a right click or Ctrl + click on a download link you have an option to save the file to a location specified on the disc. Please try using this page (scroll down to your preferred language): https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

  • 'a single download will be cancelled' appears when I try to close firefox

I get a pop - up that says 'one download will be cancelled if I close the page.' I get this on each page. I tried to start Firefox in safe mode, but it does not help. I tried to restart my PC and it does not help. I don't get the pop up if I use IE only Firefox. The culprit seems to be google Video.com.

I had just downloaded a movie with realplayer, but not from google when it began. The black arrow pointing down in the navigation bar seems to be the cause of the problem. It shows a download in progress, but it is not a. I tried to cancel the download by clicking on this arrow and 'Cancel', but is no more. The film, that I downloaded with realplayer plays very well. How do I get this resolved?

That's what fixed it for me. I went to the HISTORY tab. Then click on "show all history". Then on to the left hand side choose / click on "DOWNLOADS". That should show you what is (by train) to download or is a (active) download (which explains why you get this pop up when you try to close Firefox browser). So now you have to click or select what list in the download of right hand box and click on the X in the upper right corner or you have to click so that he can remove it for download. Seems you had to 'pause' or 'stop' the download first, then you can DELETE it. In any case, if it's the same thing that happens to you, it should be an EASY fix without running all spyware stuff or reloading software or restart in safe mode. Mine seemed to happen for some reason any to just do something that I always do, which was from a web page to listen to a radio station. I must have accidentally hit something to start to try to download while I was on the page to listen. In my situation, it was not any progress made by the bar that usually shows how much has been downloaded. He was just here as an active download but no progress.
Hope that could be the answer to all the world the reading of this same problem.
    Good luck to all

  • On my desk and computer portable firefox crashes when I try to download the program/driver, updates etc.

Firefox crashes when I try to download updates to a number of different programs, etc. I tried to download updates LR4 and Adobe flash from Adobe and driver updates for Wacom tablets. This is because you use the free download manager, please uninstall it and use default downloader for Firefox.

  • Firefox crashes when I try to download a file

    Hello!

I run Firefox Nightly 8.0a1 (2011-07-08) on Arch Linux 64-bit with Gnome 3, and I have a problem with crashes when I try to download files. This does not happen in the stable version of Firefox (5) I also installed on my computer.

It is possible to open the Download Manager as long as there is no entries in the download list. But if I start a download of something - Download Manager opens with an entry (the current download) and Firefox disappears. Instantly, she disappears from the screen and the list of processes.

I tried to delete the downloads.sqlite my profile folder, but it did not help.

I also tried to rename my folder of profile all about something else and then created an empty folder of the profile with the name, was the first. When I started Firefox, then it recreates all the default content in the profile folder, so I found myself with a clean install, not amended. But it always crashed when I tried to download files. So, it doesn't seem to be a problem with extensions or similar.

    Suggestions?

    Hello

What have you tried so far?

Can you try reinstalling Firefox? Uninstall it from your control panel > programs and features/add / remove programs (if you want to keep your bookmarks and other information, not deletion of personal information). After uninstallation, delete the Mozilla Firefox folder to remove the remnants of files damaged uninstallation (your profile is in a different location, so will not be affected by the present):

    • (installation of 32-bit) C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
    • (installation of 64-bit) C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla Firefox

Download and reinstall the latest version:

Sorry, it's a little confusing. You get the screen "embarrassed" If Firefox crashed and is not able to automatically restore your previous session.

If you uncheck old windows and tabs, Firefox should start with your home page after that.

Or it happens every time you exit Firefox and restart it?

What page you want as your home page? You can check the setting in the Preferences dialog box. These articles describe the steps:

If Firefox is ignoring your homepage layout and a different page, it could be caused by one of your modules, maybe one who snuck in unexpectedly.

You can view your extensions and disable those unknown or unwanted page modules. Either:

    • Command + shift + a
    • "3-bar" menu button (or tools) > Add-ons

In the left column, click Extensions.

When you first get Firefox, it searches your system for extensions, so you can see something associated with your security software. But way General, extensions are optional and you do not need to allow an any of them, except if find you them useful.

When you click on the download link on GetFirefox.com, you should be asked if you want to run or save the file. If this situation occurs when you try to run the download, try instead to record and put the file on your desktop or in a similar place, where you are certain that you can find.

When the download is complete, try double-clicking on the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from the desktop). This should start the installation.

If, in the Explorer window, you notice that the file seems to be missing the Firefox icon orange/blue, right click the file and select Properties. The image should look like the attached picture (except that mine is in Danish, but that is irrelevant) if saved correctly - if it don't look like this, would you please describe the content or attach a screenshot of the box. Especially what it says under "File Type" - it must be 'program '. If this isn't the case, will have to focus on what could be the problem here.

A bit off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit outdated (IE 6, where the current version is IE 8), so I highly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system up to date. Is it as a society (such as a thin client Terminal Server computer) system, this is not possible, and most likely, your system administrator will have to help you.
