When I try to install iTunes it gets to half way and says that the I need to log in as administrator
Original title: Installation of iTunes
When I try to install iTunes, it gets to half way and says that the I need to log in as an administrator. I went into the properties of iTunes and tried my name of the computer as admin., but would not except it. The dialog box says that it cannot display the name of the ADM. Someone can help me. . I had installed iTunes but could not get updates, then I decided to uninstall it because I got an error on the end with the error code 2324 updates. I ran M. from the Microsoft fix it and that at least I would like to uninstall but when I went to install the program it told me I had to sign as long as ADM to install.
I'm not a genius at this, but I can follow directions so if anyone has anything I would be great full.
Thanks, Gene Coombs
Hello
Uninstall everything according to the instructions from Apple:
«Remove and reinstall iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7»
http://support.Apple.com/kb/HT1923
It is also the same list of what to remove what is in the link above from Apple:
http://pcsupport.about.com/od/findbyerrormessage/a/MSVCR80-DLL-not-found-missing-error.htm
Or try this program to remove it:
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Then, download and save the iTunes on the desktop > then right click > select run as administrator to install.
If the advice already given does not, please contact Apple for assistance.

When I try to install itunes I get error "windows install is not enabled.
When I try to download and install itunes on my PC I get a notice that says that "windows install is not enabled...". How can I find the installer of windows and turn on? Thanx
When you try to download itunes, download is stapped with a notice saying: "windows install is not marked on" how to find the windows on my PV Installer and turn it on?
Here's a solution: go to start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Services and select Windows Installer. Double-click it to open it. Make sure that it is set to automatic (change it if it's not). If it is running, stop it and then restart it again. If it is stopped, start it just.
If this does not work, try to run the Windows Installer Cleanup of http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility-Download-18442.html utility and see if that helps. You may need to restart the service after you have done this, and you may also have to restart.
When you retry the installation, right-click on the executable installation file and click Run as administrator. It is sometimes useful.
I hope this helps.
Good luck!

When I try to install Firefox, I get an error "could not open the output file. I used Firefox before and it doesn't work anymore, so I uninstalled. Cannot re - install now.
This has happened
Each time Firefox opened
I tried to download firefox.
User Agent
Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; INTERNET EXPLORER 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; AntivirXP08; GTB6.3; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; MS - RTC LM 8)
When you click on the download link on GetFirefox.com, you should be asked if you want to run or save the file. If this situation occurs when you try to run the download, try instead to record and put the file on your desktop or in a similar place, where you are certain that you can find.
When the download is complete, try double-clicking on the downloaded file in the normal Windows Explorer (browse your way to the file from the desktop). This should start the installation.
If, in the Explorer window, you notice that the file seems to be missing the Firefox icon orange/blue, right click the file and select Properties. The image should look like the attached picture (except that mine is in Danish, but that is irrelevant) if saved correctly - if it don't look like this, would you please describe the content or attach a screenshot of the box. Especially what it says under "File Type" - it must be 'program '. If this isn't the case, will have to focus on what could be the problem here.
A bit off-topic, your Internet Explorer seems to be quite a bit outdated (IE 6, where the current version is IE 8), so I highly recommend that you try to run Windows Update to get your system up to date. Is it as a society (such as a thin client Terminal Server computer) system, this is not possible, and most likely, your system administrator will have to help you.

When I try to install anything I get the following message: "service Windows Installer could not be accessed. Windows can run in safe mode or Windows install not installed correctly. I'm not running in safe mode. This problem started in the last day or two and there have not been any changes to my computer. I'm under Winsows XP Professional, 32-bit, service pack 3. Could you help me solve this problem? Thank you.
HelloYou can try the steps from the following link and check if it works:""The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed "error message when you install a program in Windows XP "Important This section, method, or task contains steps that tell you how to modify the registry. However, serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution. For added protection, back up the registry before you edit it. Then you can restore the registry if a problem occurs. When I try to install SP1a, I get a message saying that the file is corrupted.
Need help, Im confusedOK, so I have windows XP I am trying to install on my acer aspire 5100. Its an old copy that came with another computer. All I'm trying to do is to clean the computer clean and start over. Installation was successful, but when I try to install SP1a I get a message saying that the file is corrupted. I can't connect to the internet of him because the surrent version doesn't support WPA2. So im downloading on an external HD and try to run it from my computer. When you try to install SP2, it says that the file is not a valid Win32 application. Any help / ideas would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance!
Again, your best option is to order a set of Acer recovery disks.
If you insist on doing things the way hard, then check first that download, you have to SP2 (you don't need SP1a because it is part of the SP2) is correct - check the hash of the file downloaded against one published (where you downloaded of?)
If the hash is correct and then try running SFC/scannow from a command prompt - it may work, depending on how the software manufacturer set up the drive, but it is preferable to use in conjunction with a good OS disc, rather than the recovery disk.

Hello
You don't say how you try to install SP1
Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.
It will also tell you which SP you have installed.
Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, installation of SP1 first if it is not already installed.
Vista SP1 32-bit (x 86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30
Vista SP1 64-bit: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21299
