When I try to open JPG files attachments in outlook, he tries to open it in Word and it's gibberish

Original title: JPG files attached in Windows 8

I use Windows 8 and when I try to open JPG files in outlook attachments, he tries to open it in Word and it's gibberish.  Also, I tried to save it as a document but with the same results.  Any suggestions?

You can change the default program that gets used to correct this problem.

First, save the attachment to a location like your desktop (it will just be temporary).  Then, right-click on the file and choose "Open with", then "choose default program".  In this list, you can collect you Photos app (or photo viewer based on the desktop if you prefer not to use the apps full screen tablet) and it will use who instead of Word in the future.
