computer freeze when you try to watch a video stream (only) from any Web site
When I try to watch streaming video, my computer freezes, the screen goes black. It will start to play the video to say about... maybe 30 seconds. The computer screen will sweep for a fraction of a second and that's it. It crashes, the screen goes black, it makes that sound you get when the computer crashes. So I have to do a hard reboot to take control of the computer again. I've only had this computer for about 120 days, did not buy good warranty for the software and now I'm stuck.
I got a warning of "problem-solution" and he mentioned a question with the ATI card. I have ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 on an Inspiron7010. I tried to reload the OS. did not work.
What can I do to fix this?Hello
If you have tried the steps listed in this thread but still have a problem, please repost this as a new question to the address provided below. Provide any other information system and errors.

(b) click on the settings tab and then click Advanced.
(c) in the performance tab or on the Troubleshooting tab, move the Hardware Acceleration all the way to the right ( Full position).
(d) click OKand then click close.
(e) If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
If the previous step fails, then check the event viewer for the cause of the issue and after return with details.

Why do I see just a green screen when I try to watch a video?
I've had my Toshiba laptop (that I bought new) for almost a year with no problems and even today, whenever I try to watch a video on a Web site, the display screen will go completely green. The sound is still working but no PIC. just green. For videos, I downloaded it, I checked for viruses (I did a full scan of this morning - which is what the problem is?), but the results have been very good. I'm bummed my laptop can be give @ the one year mark. All solutions, a lay person can understand? Thank you!

screen goes black when you try to Watch youtube videos
Hi, can anyone help. I can't watch the videos on youtube, the screen goes black and the computer freezers. I have a HP DV6, Windows 7

Hello
Still does not, now, the video and sound will play for about 2 seconds then the screen turns white with vertical stripes. He also freezers the computer completely
Hi, thanks for your help, but this is how I fixed it. Hope this helps others
However, to do this: go to http://www.adobe.com/software/flash and do a RIGHT CLICK on the logo that is being charged. THEN: Navigate down until "settings", click it, and you should have the choice: "disable hardware acceleration". NOTE: If you do NOT have this choice, study the icons down quickly: on MY screen, the left-most is an icon that looks like a video monitor: click on it and give you the opportunity to "disable hardware acceleration".
It works, if you can get it done before you get a BSOD! AND do not take the life of your computer in your hands by updating your video drivers. I do not really recommend doing that!

im not sure what has changed between yesterday and today, but I don't like it!
This can be caused by a recent update of Flash 11.3.

I can't view videos such as youtube without my computer locking with a blue screen and error message: 0x0000008E (0xE0000001, 0BA460925, 0xA8919820, 0x00000000) how correct this and what it means? I am running windows XP. Thank you
Hello
· You receive this error message only when you watch videos online?
· Do you remember any changes made on the computer before the show?
· What is the number and the model of the computer?
· What is the service pack installed?
Check the status of the card/video display adapter installed on your computer.
a. click on start
b. click Run, in the Run dialog box type devmgmt.msc
(c) in the Device Manager window, look for the screen reader and expand the drive, double-click the sub element to check if an error message or error code is listed.
You can also check out the link below: general troubleshooting for an error message that you receive randomly in Windows XP: "Stop 0x0000008E": http://support.microsoft.com/kb/945658

I get a lot of golf maaterials and lesson over the internet. It became a real pain and a problem for me to keep up with instructions. When I received instruction to internet and start to play the video it winds and winds and play them for a few seconds then start and stop throughout the presentation. What can I do to fix this problem?
If several computers are using the internet at the same time, it might slow down the video stream on a computer (laptop or desktop).
Or your internet connection is simply not enough fast to stream the videos you want to watch. There are several different speeds for DSL, so the speed increase may help.

When I try to play a video I have a video with no sound
original title: Windows Vista/windows media player/videonosound
my windows media player will play a dvd with the sound when I try to play a video that I have a video with no sound. I tried to upload an ogg codec so I can get a little sound of my video.
Help please.
Angie line Graham
Although Microsoft does not provide a feedback about which codecs you need, you'll probably want to install a free app called MediaInfo that will analyze the file you are trying to play and to determine what exact codec you need to play the file. I walk through the process of fix codec errors in this tutorial on MediaInfo.
If it's an OGG file as you indicate, the best thing to do is to play any other application, but Windows Media Player, new support for the codec for OGG in WMP is ugly, but I would check double what you need first.
