When I turn on my computer, already set up profiles disappear and are replaced by 'Kiosk' and 'other users' options that require passwords. I can get into 'other users' and find my previous user accounts, but lose them again after the reboot.

I bought a laptop with Windows 7 installed a few days ago. I started to set up user accounts, administrator and a guest. So far, I had been able to shut down and restart with the accounts of users even reappear. I turned on my computer and two 'user accounts' had replaced my previous. Named "kiosk", which requires a user name and password which I do not have access, and one named 'other users' that requires a user name and password. I type in comments and no password and then I can access the guest account. When I disconnect my administrator profile is available next to my usual guest account. Restart the "kiosk" and "other accounts" reappear. If it's any help, as soon as I put on my computer, I had named MDX kiosk and administrator accounts. I deleted the account kiosk MDX. I don't know if this is related at all. It is not necessarily a problem, but a disadvantage however and I panicked when this popped up on my computer.

Yes, you can uninstall MDX (it is called the digital experience of Microsoft) and it will remove the kiosk account and no trace of it, and then restart your machine. All other accounts on the machine should stay, but I would like to make a backup first. This should solve your problem. Associated with the store, you bought from should have done that for you, why they failed, I have no idea (we are instructed to do before the release of the machine to customers). If you don't mind asking me, where did you buy the machine?

  • How can I OMIT the PASSWORD to START when I turn on my computer first? (I already deleted the Windows password)

When I turn on my computer, a small box appears which says "STARTING password".  This was initially set up when I did accidentally one a fraudulent service called 'Mypcsave.com '.  The password is currently the guy who worked on my computer.  Once you enter his name, the screen, and then past to Microsoft screen where you can click on your user/guest to open a session.  All of this show has been removed to the best of my knowledge, but I would OMIT this step of signing with the STARTUP PASSWORD.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! Lora

    Windows XP Activation loop.

When I turn on my computer it tells me that I need to activate windows. I click on 'YES' it takes me to the activation page and says that Windows is already activated. All I can do is, click 'OK' and he takes me into a log on screen with my name on it and goes through the same process, as described at the beginning of this statement. I'm in a loop. The only way out is to wipe my hard drive and reload windows new who, within 30 days, it will do no doubt once again. How to do this?
For 3 years I rebooted my computer. That's why I reloaded it in the first place. I sent this version of Windows XP by Microsoft and have recharged the system at least 4 times in the past 10 or 11 years.

I have a user account, but the type is standard user... I can't create an administrator user... because when I press on it see something that says that WINDOWS needs YOUR permission TO CONTINUE to create... Fix this please...

To create an administrator account, you must be...
    (1.) an administrator
(2.) to connect to the existing administrator account, or in possession of an administrator password.
If you do not have all of the above, forget it.

When the system asked you for permission, you should click on continue or enter the Admin password. If you could not do either, it means that you don't have administrative rights to do what you want.

  • I get 2 back to back error messages when I turn on my computer?

I get 2 back to back error messages when I turn on my computer, they are:

    (1) "Windows cannot find ' * 2 boxes * [I don't see what it is and only 2 boxes are visible]. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button and then click on search"; Clicking OK comes the following error message
    (2) could load not run ' * 2 boxes * [I don't see what it is and only 2 boxes are visible] ' specified in the registry. Make sure that the file exists on your computer, or remove the reference to the file in the registry. "

Browse for it on the internet I came across a software called HAKO Removal Tool. This website says that my computer has been infected by a Trojan of HAKO and that would fix it. I downloaded, scanned the computer with her and she found a problem with the 2 files.
"Process.exe" and "HotKeysCmds".  BUT this is a paid software and I have to pay 50USD to use. Is there anything else possible?

    What is the problem?

If your computer has not already been infected by virus or malware, it is probably now after you have downloaded and installed something of a site that wants to pay you $50 to remove something you didn't know you had until told this same site.

Do you mean that you have installed Kaspersky Anti-Virus 2010?  Your subscription is up to date?

Similarly, you would update SUPERAntiSpyware before running a scan of your computer?

I'm not sure what you mean by '2 boxes.'  Do you mean that instead of characters for a file name, you see two empty squares?  In any case, download Autoruns http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx install it and let it scan.

When Autoruns analysis is complete, click the 'connection '.  Review them entered what whether that looks like "bad."  I can't be more specific, because you could not see that the name of which has been commissioning.  By looking at the name of the entry, its description and its publisher, you should be able to easily identify most of the entries in the logon section.  If you can't, either post the details of back here or do a Google search.

For any entry that does not appear to be legitimate, uncheck the box to the left of the entrance.  Close the Autoruns and restart the computer.  Messages should no longer appear.  Once you are convinced that you have disabled the correct entries, you can go back and use Autoruns to delete (instead of just deactivating).

I also suggest you analyzing your system with other tools.
Download, install, update and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware.
Go to http://www.eset.com/us/online-scanner and let it scan your computer.

  • I have a problem when I turn on my computer...

I have a problem when I turn on my computer. An error that says: "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. "
And there are 3 options: start windows in safe mode, safe mode with network or start Windows normally. And... If I have the choice between these options my Windows shows this option again and again after loading... How to solve "We apologize for the inconvenience, but Windows did not start successfully. A recent hardware or software change might have caused this. " Problem ?

    lakimedo,
The first thing, have you changed any hardware or software?   If you added new hardware then delete and restart.  Also disconnect external devices and try to start.  When you start start pressing F8 until you get the Windows startup options.  Then try "Last known good configuration" see if that helps.  If those who do not help, I would start with your XP CD to recovery mode and run "chkdsk/r" then "sfc/scannow".  QQ learn manage!
