Lately when I turn on my computer, I get a message saying. "Windows mail can compact the message store. This can take up to a few minutes. "It looks like a real message of Windows but when I click on the link"Get help from communities", it does not work. I cancel or close the message, because I fear that the message can be fake and won't open my computer for a virus or worse. Anyone has any info on this particular message? I can't find anything in the help section of Windows. Thank you.

  • When I turn on the computer, I get this message - COM + Event System has stopped working. How can I activate this return?

I had virus protection total defence installed. This occurred immediately after.

    Hello

Thanks for your answer to my question. I was about to start step 2, by performing a boot minimum when a message pops up informing that 2 programs were slowing down my computer and also to stop because they were also running. Ironically, these programs I've ever used has appeared on my computer advertising protection against viruses and to speed up the computer.

I did not purchase the license if it comes to start up all the 3 or 4 days telling me that my computer is slow.

I uninstalled both programs, which I won't mention for obvious reasons and the event system Com + message did not return after the computer has restarted 3 times. Apparently, the problem has been resolved, but I will continue to have oversight. If the problem returns I'll restart and inform you about the results.  Thanks again for your expertise. guavaridgemb

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that when you turn on the computer, you get an error message indicating that COM + has event system stopped working. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I imagine the inconvenience that you are experiencing. I will certainly help the question of fixing.

Please follow the steps and check the question below:

    Step 1:

Check the event viewer for the logs of error from the links below.

    Open Event Viewer:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/open-Event-Viewer

What are the information in event logs? (Event Viewer):

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

    Step 2:

You need to perform a clean boot to prevent any third party conflicting application from interfering with your computer.

To put the computer in a clean boot state, you must follow the steps in the article mentioned below and check with the question.

Note: You must follow step 3 of the article mentioned above to recover your computer to a Normal startup after you complete all the steps.

  • When I turn off my computer I get a message "CLTMNG. "EXE not responding do not. I have reset Firefox but still a problem.

I run windows XP SP3. When the message appears that I have to cancel the activity and then the system will stop. It happens all the time, but most of the time that it does.

Hello, this may be a problem possibly caused by malicious software on your pc. Please go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, the things that you have not installed intentionally, I don't know what purpose they serve, etc.). also, go to Control Panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software (led, search protect,...) from there and run a full scan of your system with software security you have in place and various other tools such as the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

  • When I turn on my computer, I get this message, "a duplicate name exists on the network."

I've had this name for years, what happened?

Thanks for the reply.  No, the computer name and workgroup name are not the same.  Should they be?

No, if they were the same, which can cause the error you see.

I can't guess any further, unless you answer the other questions.

The error is a complaint that another device on any network to which your computer is connected has the same name as the 'full name' shown in system properties.

Although there are utilities that scan your network and to report the names of connected devices, they are somewhat nonsimple to use and probably would not work on a computer that will expose the error your report.

If your computer is on a home network, share an Internet connection using a router, you can manually check all other devices.  You don't maybe not easily able to determine the 'computer name' no computer network devices, but it is highly unlikely that such a device, for example, a network printer, called "Lamb stew Computer" or else you might have named your computer.

Just to be sure there isn't something special going, disconnect your computer from your network (or your Internet connection) and then it reboot.  The duplicate name error should NOT appear if the computer is not connected to a network.

If you can't get that in Safe Mode, try this

    1. If the computer can be started in a safe mode command prompt, do.

    2. at the command prompt, type this command exactly (space, caps and comma are required):

    Rundll32.exe syssetup, SetupOobeBnk

    3. restart.

If you did it, your activation grace period will have been reset, giving you more time to work on the problem.

I have a Gateway laptop that "turns" Windows XP (512 MB / 80 GB SATA in 2006).  It is slow, but it works--or he did until last night.

to move further beyond the initial blue screen; I could not connect.  Frustration led me out of disk OS reboot of the manufacturer and

    No luck.

I read a few posts here with "solutions", but my system does not allow me to type anything other than Ctrl/alt/delete.  I can't type a
