  What do you mean by that?

  There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

  There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

  You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

  They should do this for a small fee.

  To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

  And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

  The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

  Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

  Ask them to the proper key sequence.

  And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

  The Dell disk/Vista license is bound to the original Dell computer on which it is installed.

  And the Vista license is non-transfereble.

• directx_aug2009_redist and dxwebsetup does not run on Windows 7 Ultimate

  I brought Dirt 2 and error message "Dirt 2 may not start because D3Dcompiler_42.dll is missing" then I'll try to install the VERY latest versions of DirectX which I update in August.  I have a new install of Windows 7 Ultimate when when I downloaded directx_aug2009_redist extracted deposited and run DXSETUP that ended saying "an internal error has occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your file of windos... the last few lines which are: -.

  I get a similar error when running dxwebsetup... any help appreciated, Peter

  Peter, I had exactly the same problem (not with Dirt2 though).

  In my case it was caused by the protection in real time to Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE). You can temporarily disable it as follows:

  -Open application "Microsoft Security Essentials" (either find in Win7 start menu or right click on its icon on the taskbar);
  -Click on the "Settings" Panel
  -In the list on the left, click "real-time Protection";
  -Clear the checkbox "enable the real-time protection (recommended) ';
  -Click on the 'Save' button at the bottom (ignore security warnings may occur);
  -Keep the window open, it is only temporary.

  At this point, you can run your dxwebsetup (or you already have the Aug2009 redist). Well, it should install.

  Once the installation is complete, remember to re-enable real-time protection in MSE! :)

  First try to run Windows Updaste again to ensure that it is not Flash Player updates which have been forgotten.

  Recently, I replaced the battery in my MBP and it worked fine for a few weeks then one day, I woke to find the swollen battery and the bulge of the keyboard. I removed the battery and the thought that I would use just the charger as I had done in the past, but the MBP would not turn on and there is no light in the charger when I plug.

  I have a Macbook October 2011 17 "Pro release. I think to repair itself but I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with what could be the problem before I go this route.

  Would it be the charger, or did the battery exploding to destroy it completely. I also noticed that plant in the charger plug is smaller than the others. This can be normal, and I have never noticed before.

  When I turn on my laptop, there is a chance that the monitor does not light. What to do when this happens is I turn it works again and again until the screen lights up finally. When it lights up, it works very well and stays on until I turn it off and then the problem can repeat once again. Notes: I tried to connect to an external monitor and the TV via HDMI, and there is no signal when the monitor won't turn on, but works perfectly if the monitor does not light. If the screen lights up or not, everything else seems to work fine as I can blindly off keys and hear the music of connect/disconnect.

  You can enter the BIOS by tapping /holding F10 key immediately after turning the power on and use Diagnostics to test your hard drive.

  I recently turned on my laptop and my profile/account was not recognized during the startup of the computer toward the top, so a temporary account/profile is used instead.  I did some work saved information on the computer using this temp-account profile.  My regular account/profile has been recognized at every time since, but I was not able to find the location of the temp profile/account or the information stored when using this profile/account temporarily.  The profile was not a guest account or an administrator account.  That's only 2 accounts visible to me.  There is only 1 account on the laptop so I actually disabled guest accounts.
