Sounds like you are in full screen view. Press the F11 key to turn off the Mode or full-screen. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Netbooks#Full_screen

The Firefox button has replaced the menu bar (File, Edit, View, history, Favorites, tools, help). You can view the Menu bar instead of the Firefox GOLD button you can temporarily show the selections Menu Bar and do it while the Firefox button is on:

  • Temporarily view and use the menu bar, press ALT or F10 and make your choice in the menu bar.
  • Checked menu bar: menu bar; Firefox button
  • Unchecked menu bar: menu bar; The Firefox button
  • Click on the Menu bar to check/uncheck it after doing one of the following:
    • Click the Firefox button > Options > toolbars
    • Click view > toolbars
    • Right-click in the empty space at the end of the tabs
  • Keyboard shortcut to toggle the Menu bar, power button: hold down the ALT key and press letters VTM
