Have you installed Windows 7 device drivers for your make and model. If this is not the case, then go to the support web site factory and download Windows 7 drivers to a folder on your PC and then first install the drivers for the card mother/chipset, followed by USB, SATA, LAN, Audio and all other pilots.

Find the website of your computer manufacturer support.

BIOS updates: you should check to see if there was one, or sometimes several updates BIOS for the motherboard. Read (if provided) which solves the update. Sometimes a newer BIOS update will fix the problem. Read the instructions on how to your BIOS update/flash very carefully and be more you understand the process. There is a risk of a bad flash/update occurs which can make your system unbootable.

I get this error despite opening a session with the "Administrator" account or any other account with administrative rights.

On my system the solution has been to start services Fast User Switching and Terminal Server Services. I had turned off as a matter of hygiene (I use nothing that they support) but in this case, they had to be running. I suppose that for some reason the Lifecam Installer wants to use alternative credentials. Hmm.

    Relax and breathe.

FIRST: Uninstall IE8 and IE7 if they are installed.  Back to all the way back to IE6.  You want other patches before you get those.  Reboot after doing this.

You are not the first to ask questions about how to upgrade a clean Windows XP - not even installation in the last week. In fact, I will just cut and paste my answer here... here:

Get SP2 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Get SP3 (manually) and save it to your desktop. (There's a link here.) [You are a COMPUTER professional for now.]

    Install it.

Then restart at least a couple of times for a few minutes between each restart.

Download at least Internet Explorer 7 (if it is not Internet Explorer 8).

    Install it.

    Reset.

Now, try to get the updates through the normal web page (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) and see how much more you can get (100 +) and keep checking until you no longer have.

Back - let everyone know if it worked for you.

  • What program opens the .dvd file created on a Windows XP computer?

The videos were created on my old computer using Windows XP, but many programs I moved were lost when the hard drive is gone on my new Vista machine. I do not have Vista Ultimate so I can't use the previous versions feature and I tried so many programs to open these films that the Properties tab shows that this last program that the file 'opens with '. I guess I need to know what program created the.dvd files and what I can do to save them. I don't have the original avi or mpeg files any longer. Thanks in advance,

Have its possible that this is a download corrupted Windows XP mode, you tried to download it again and see if it works? Also, make sure that you first install Windows Virtual PC.

Click Start, type: enable or disable windows features

    Press enter on your keyboard

Scroll down and make sure that Windows Virtual PC is checked.

    Click OK

    Restart if prompted.

CS6 and previous programs have not been tested and will not be updated to run on Mac El Capitan
