  When your phone is 'off' no call will happen, but you can have the ringtone and following will continue to apply.

  When the profile is defined for you calm down can have important calls pass: scroll to profiles > click on > scroll down > advanced > scroll down for important calls > touch menu > you can create a new exception or use the s 'important call' a > edit > add a contact in the top bar, for example, your wife, you can also choose a ringtone custom for important calls.  Now, even if the phone is set to silent or vibrate, the important call will ring through.

  I don't know if things work differently in your part of the world, but here in the United Kingdom it is normally due to not having DSL filters mounted or installed in the wrong place.

  You can do it.  Simply press the power button a times to cut the ring/vibrate and twice more to ignore the call.

  Sometimes my phone acts as if it were the silent mode: a call comes in and I can see it on the screen, but it does not have a ringing sound. The very next call sounds great, even if it is the same person who called when the phone was silent. The sound settings are set to 'Normal '. The tech at the local store guys are confused.

  I had this problem too, and the only solution was to reboot the phone and then remove the battery.  I brought back to the cell shop where I got it; they had placed the phone software updated and location of PRL, they even tried wiping the own phone electronically.

  It was an intermittent problem, so I had to constantly check to see if the ringer would work.  If the cell store eventually brought down and replaced by a new.  Now I think it works very well.  Touch wood.
