When opening a new tab, there is a search screen of Yahoo showing rather than a blank tab and I want to stop it, how do I do this? Thank you

somewhere on the update, I got a yahoo toolbar, I did not like. Tasks was to bring up a search box and yahoo news, when you open a new tab each time. I was not able to uninstall it or turn it off, no idea where to start. When you open the new tab, it starts to 'click,w3i.com'and then "search.yahoo.com" and has some research trends and the latest news, my network is slow with waiting for all these things happen. No idea how to eliminate it or turn it off. It is not listed in the toolbars or options or modules or plugins or anything. Here are the two links of that tab through, they are listed in reverse order. Thanks for the help. Have a great day.

A new tab opens by default like a Virgin tab (topic: empty).

If this isn't the case, then an extension has changed this behavior.

When I open a new tab, it goes straight to the snapdo.com. How can I change this so when I opened a new tab it opens directly to google without having to type in, or clicking on a bookmark button?

There is a setting for new tabs...

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste newtab and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference browser.newtab.url and enter your favorite page:

    • (Default) page thumbnails = > subject: newtab
    • Blank tab = > subject: empty
    • Built-in Firefox homepage = > topic: welcome
    • Any other page = > full URL of the page

Note: when changing to Google, use a full URL ultimate as https://www.google.com/ - if you use a partial URL, there will be a few seconds while Google Firefox redirects this ultimate URL.

    • If Firefox ignores the setting, one of your extensions may be substitution of her. You can consult, disable and/or remove extensions on the addons page:

How to stop multiple self-switching to the address bar every time I open a new tab and try typing something anywhere outside the address bar? As something just wants me to use this integrated search when you type something non-Web-address in the address bar and press to enter. And the most ridiculous thing is that happens repeatedly on as every second, as I just got off the address bar and start typing again, but still he passes me in the address bar, then 3, 4 times like that. And the result is that I don't see the address of this page.

I think that its has something to do with my AVG Antivirus, because it started the same time a Nation AVG started to appear in each new tab I opened (and which is irritating as me, I've read here on support.mozilla.org and it seems that the only solution is to completely reinstall Firefox, but I don't want to lose all my settings) but when I type something in the address bar and press enter It opens the search results in Google.

  • When I opened a new tab navigation bar is not selected. How can I fix?

I looked at other issues, but I couldn't find a solution for this. When I opened a new tab, the navigation/URL bar is not selected, and I can't just type to search or enter a URL. I have to move my mouse and select it. This is quite annoying because I use Firefox for years and he was always selected by default. Also, I have problems with my default browser. It seems to have opted for Google, Yahoo, and I could not change it back. (I'll post another question for this shortly after searching the answer more).

Thanks for the help in advance.

  • How to restore the main sites visited when opening a new tab

When you click on a new tab, you have pictures of the page of the most visited and most listed sites in the right part. It's NOT top sites...

This isn't a feature of Firefox, it was probably added by the extension of the Google toolbar. Look at the parameters of the GTB.

Looks like you have set browser.newtab.url to Subject: House which opens the default home page in each new tab. The simplest thing to do is to reset this preference so that instead of the new tab page:

    1. Type of topic: config in the address bar and press ENTER.
    2. To ignore the warning, press the big button "I'll be careful, I promise!
    3. In the search box, paste browser.newtab.url
    4. In the search results, click browser.newtab.url , and then choose reset.

    Otherwise,.

    1. Custom installation tab.

    2. Open the modules (Ctrl + Shift + A Manager; Mac: Command + shift + A), then the Extensions category.
    3. Next to the new custom label, click on the Options button.
    4. The value of any page you want to open in each new tab (topic: newtab is the value default; about: home is the default home page) and make sure that "Focus in the URL bar" is not checked.
