When the computer stops to install software updates, I see a white screen instead of the usual startup screens.

I don't remember how long I've had this problem. What I've done is pushed the button on the monitor. This allows me to see the page, but does not allow me to enter data. I usually have to shut down the computer and then restart it again. What needs to be done to solve this problem?

  • Windows 7 - restart your computer to finish installing important updates

I tried Windows 10 for only a few hours, before returning to Windows 7.

The main reason was that 10 Windows could not find my additional screens (connected via USB-HDME adapters).

Before ask you, Yes, my drivers are up to date.

Since I returned to 7, I get the annoying reboot message "Restart your computer to finish installing important updates".

I tried the Windows troubleshooting tool, but it cannot solve the problem.

Some posts suggest ways to cancel the auto restart, but it does not solve the problem. It makes just less boring.

The point is, if this issue is not resolved, I'm not the future automatic updates that are important.

    Any suggestions?

    Separated from this thread.

    Gerry,

First of all, thanks for all the suggestions. I thought I should report my conclusion to this problem.

It seems that this issue is a good thing. Nothing seems to fix.

When I finally accepted that, I went to my trusty local store and had them do a clean install of Windows 7 (with backup of course). I spent the next week slowly re-install all my software. It's a pain, but I'm glad I did.

I now have a brand new... again... computer and everything works as it should.

  • My computer won't install seedbed updates and I get the error code: 80248007

I tried to pull up of Microsoft Word all night and it wouldn't let me so I searched how to fix and found a post that says I might update my Windows. I have Windows 8 and part of the update installed, but then at the end it says I have 5 important updates that can be installed with an 80248007 error code. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? I need my computer working properly and especially my office products. Thanks in advance!

    Hello

It would be great if you let us know exactly what happens when you work with Microsoft Office programs and the problems that you encounter when you say that my computer works correctly.

    You get the error message?

At this point, I would manually reset the update of Windows on the folders on your computer and see if that allows you to install this update.

Note: Perform these steps would be clear Windows Update history on the computer, but will not uninstall updated.

    1. press the Windows and R on your keyboard keys, then type Services.msc in the run box and press ENTER. This should open the windows of Services for you.

    2. then find the following three services in the list of Services and stop them (by clicking on it and click on stop) one by one:

    Windows Update

    (BITS) Background Intelligent Transfer Service

    Cryptographic services

    3. open Windows Explorer and navigate to the following location:

    C:\Windows\

Rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution in SoftwareDistribution.old

    4. go to the following location:

    C:\Windows\System32\

Rename the Catroot2 in Catroot2.old folder

(be careful here, do not rename the C:\windows\system32\catroot folder, you must rename the Catroot2 folder only)

    5. now go back to the Services window and start the services of three you had stopped earlier.

Now, close all open windows, restart the computer and try updates and install them. If it fails again, please answer here so that we can help you further.

  • My computer (Vista OS) install software on a CD/DVD. He seems to think that everything in the hard drive is photos or music.

When I insert a software disc, automatic execution of Vista opens instead of the software installation tool. I set AutoPlay to run or install the software if it is what is on the disk, but not luck. (A single disc of software worked as it was supposed to on another computer.)

    Hey DaveGoff,

I recommend removing a program called "Xplay" from Mediafour.
Try this: 1. go to start, then Control Panel
    2. open "programs and features".
    3. scroll through the programs and see if you have the XPLAY under the title editor MACROVISION
4 right click once a program to highlight, and then click "Uninstall/change" upward.
    5. (you may get a pop-up asking if it's OK continue.)  If so, click on "Allow")
    6. once the program is removed, you will need to restart your computer.

Don't forget to back up your system before we do this just in case where. But it has been linked to a solution to this problem.

  • The computer hangs after installing an update from McAfee.

When McAfee performs an update on my computer, sometimes it takes turn off computer and do a reboot before they take effect.  Well, here's where the problems start.  When the computer turns back the cursor will not work, I have no way of online and even less off the computer.  I had to manually shut down the computer and restart with no luck there, too.  I had to resort to a restoration of systems even get the computer to work.  McAfee came with MSN I use and there has been no touble until last month of December.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have dial to connect.
    Thank you very much!

Personally, I would recommend dumping McAfee and using a more reliable program such as Microsoft Security Essentials.  Except that if, you should contact McAfee and see why it creates so many problems for you.

  • Not able to install software-update

    Hello

After that my Macbook Pro (2008) is crushed at the time, the original version of OS X was installed (10.5.8). To upgrade to El Capitan, I discovered that first of all, I had to buy the update of Snow Leopard, so I installed yesterday to version 10.6.3. But I still have to go up to at least 10.6.6 to install El Capitan, so I tried the software update.

Now the problem: I can do the software update, and then he said to restart my computer. If I click on reboot and the system closes, but then maintains the display of the original with the purple cloud and stars background, but it does not continue. I don't see any dock or anything, just the bottom. I have the same problem if I just shut up and want to manually restart (it is not closing completely, just shows the background).

I can restart and then clicking CTRL cmd + button on / off, but I don't see no update software (always 10.6.3). If I don't do the software update and restart normally without the update, it is not a problem to restart, which normally. Looks like something is wrong, when it wants to install updates...?

    Can anyone help please?

  • How to stop messages from software update for a product?

    Hello

Only, I'm new on this blog all / Forum process.

I recently downloaded a TRIAL of Dreamweaver (DW) Version. As part of this download DW Adobe Creative Cloud (ACC) was also installed.

My trial version of DW is now expired and I have access to DW through my TAFE (an Australian educational institution), and at this point, I don't want that it pay monthly fee for continued use of the DW.

I can still download Photoshop (PS) and I also have Adobe PDF managed by ACC, so I won't delete the ACC, I just want to stop receiving reminders of annoying message for a unique product of DW.

How can I prevent the ACC telling me that a software update is available for the software that I'm no longer using or right to use, namely DW?

    Hi Sheena,

    Thanks for your reply.

If I'm reading correctly the link, it is not quite what I'm after but it is almost here...

I won't stop all communications, so the "inability to scale of the computer" is not for me.

I don't want to disable each feature and notice that "Disabling user account" is not for me either.

But I took a peek in the "AdobeUpdaterPrefs.dat" file found in:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Adobe\AAMUpdater\1.0\

What I need to know, it's those who one or whose entries of file I need to change.

  • ACR stop working after software update for Radeon

I have a card Radeon R9 270 and CC Phoshop/Lightroom.  Everything worked very well. Then, I received a software update from ATI and accepted the installation to version 015.041.000.000. When I opened PhotoshopCC, a pop-up said that I had to enable GPU for ACR. I checked the box and opened a RAW file. ACR window open and I clicked the Open button. He locks up Photoshop. I had to stop the PS with the Task Manager. When I opened LightroomCC, the GPU box has been checked if I tried to use it. the first image open, but when I tried to click on another image, it froze and I had to close it with the Task Manager. I then disabled GPU in PS and it works fine. Given that Lightroom is just a front end for the cab, the develop module will not work and lightroom just freezes.

I asked s ATI of instructions on how to revert to the prior software, but have not heard of them. I can not so much through the Device Manager because the revert button is grayed out.

A quick search returns: Lightroom CC crashes after updating the Radeon driver

  • AirPrint stopped working after software update

I installed the new software update for Photosmart more e-all-in a single model B210a (firmware TAL1FN1207AR) yesterday and now my ios devices will not print.  I can see the printer, can send the print job, but it never arrives at the printer. In the print to the ios Device Center, it shows the status of 'printing', but it never changes and no printing output occurs. The printer works well for network computers.  I tried the printer off and restarting, but which made no change.  Ios devices are running ios 5.1.1.  This was not a problem until I installed the new HP software on the printer.  My rounter is a LInksys WRT54G.  Can someone help me with this issue?  Thank you.

    Hi jsw404,

Have you tried to reboot the router? If not, I would take as follows: power off your device, the printer and the router. The router upload first, giving him 30-45 seconds to start. Then turn on your printer, and then on your mobile device. See if that solves your problem.

  • Updated on Windows7 + blank white screen now but which works fine under Ubuntu why?

I had 14 of Firefox running on Windows 7 and no problems. I've updated again Firefox and when I connected to the Internet, I got was a white screen. Well connected, went well on the site, but did not address tab only in the web address bar and nothing on the page. I tried Internet Explorer and that worked well. Then I stopped and restarted in Ubuntu and tried my Firefox version 22 and it worked fine so I think that something is wrong with the new version of Firefox with Windows 7 now. I don't want to lose all my passwords or I uninstall Firefox and reinstall. If you can tell me how to save my passwords in Firefox 26 (latest version as of 16/01/2014) I'll try to uninstall and reinstall. Thanks for any help you can give me. I prefer to make a fix on this instead of Firefox. I use Ubuntu now send this.

Thanks Philipp, but I solved the problem. I selected control screen and saved all my passwords in Firefox to another program. Then, I downloaded Firefox 23 (stable version) of the Internet Explorer browser on a USB key. Then, I used CC Cleaner uninstall Firefox on my laptop. I chose to keep my apps and personal information when CC Cleaner asked me if I wanted to (it's free http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner or Google it). Then I installed the stable 23 version of Firefox to my USB key. Start Firefox and everything works great. The problem is a problem with the new version of Firefox, and it's a real problem that should be fixed by Mozilla very soon.

  • "Show my windows and tabs from last time ' has stopped working after software updated to the end of January or early February. Now on 12.0a2. Change options "Auora to start: ' no longer works.

I use this feature for years and update Firefox/Aurora in the next few days, maybe a week, an update becomes available and everything suddenly ' show my windows and tabs from last time ' has stopped working. I can go to the Tools-Option-general tab and change "at Aurora startup:" to this option, or 'Show my home page (s)' and now the opening in a new tab single even though I have URLs there. This may mean that this bit is not read correctly. I'm not playing: config, but I watch a few spoken options in the Web and everything looked OK.

I would uninstall and reinstall it if you think it will solve the problem. I updated Aurora again because this problem started and it remains broken. It is a system of XP with SP3

PS: I have two other windows with a XP and the other Windows 7. When I had the problem on my primary XP System I stopped to make updates to other systems. Today I updated the two other systems with the latest Auora (skip one or two updates) and both work very well.

The best way for me to trouble?

    Hey punchcard4rjw,

Have you tried to start Firefox in Mode safe? Key 'shift' startup of Firefox. If it doesn't happen in Mode without failure, you should read the extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common troubleshooting Firefox problems.

If this does not work, you should look the article How to fix preferences that will not save.

    Hope this helps!
