Update Windows Vista error code A 8024, 000 after replacing the HARD drive
Hello
I had to replace the failed hard drive on my laptop (I replaced it with the same brand and size).
After that I used the recovery CD, Windows Update gives me error code A 8024, 000.
I tried the solution provided in this thread, but did not work for me:
I also tried to load the Microsoft Fixit utility, which has not installed, I tried to update the installer but it gave me an error as well. Also the installation of SP2 crashed with an error (8000ffff if I remember correctly)
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

I downloaded System Update Readiness Tool and tried to get these updates again, but still receive error messages. I have a new HP, about 2 months, if anyone has any other ideas of what I could try to get the updates I want? I am running Windows 7.

I'm trying to access the administration page of GUI on my wireless controller. It's using a certificate issued by the vendor who makes it, so the names do not match. I created a permanent exception for the certificate. Whenever I try to access the site, I now get the following error every time:
The secure connection failed
An error occurred during a connection to 172.24.6.10:4343. Peer SSL reports incorrect Message Authentication Code. (Error code: ssl_error_bad_mac_alert)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem. Alternatively, use the command found in the help menu to report this broken site.
This page worked fine before the most recent update.
Y at - it a setting or something I can change to allow this page to load?
I saw reported problems caused by Firefox with the help of a few specific cipher suites that are not properly supported by the server.
A possibility to test this is to disable all the SSL cipher suites on the topic: config page (i.e. switches security.ssl3. * prefs that are true to false) and allow both to see if you can find the culprit and continue this suite disabled and reset others or continue its tests to see work encryption algorithms.
Do a hard refresh the tab with the page of 172.24.6.10:4343 via Ctrl + F5 after each change. You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.

Recent Windows Update problem, 80070005 error code
My computer is running windows update without problems so far. For the last week or two, my computer tried to install the following updates:
Update security for Windows Vista (KB969947)
Update security for Windows Vista (KB973565)
Update for Windows Mail Junk e-mail filter [November 2009] (KB905866)After each attempt, the updates fail with the error code 80070005. After that my computer keeps on reminding me to install important updates, that I am unable to do.
I tried:
1. disable the Antivirus software and Windows Defender firewall. Perform the reboot and installation manual
2 disable the update of windows, rename the software distribution folder, enable windows update, restart
3. I followed the procedure described by Savan-H described here
http://social.answers.Microsoft.com/forums/en-us/vistawu/thread/29d7f9d1-56cd-42f3-bd44-7de8448ef70e/
I arrived in #5 to step 3 and after you run the code given in the cmd prompt, I get this error
WARNING: Unable to set SeSecurityPrivilege privilege. This privilege may be required.
OpenSCManager error: access deniedWARNING: /sddl = da; CCLCSWRPWPDTLOCRRC; SY)(a;; ccdclcswrpwpdtlocrsdrcwdwo;;) BA)(a;;) CCLCSWLOCRRC; to the)(a;; cclcswrpwpdtlocrrc;; unité centrale): no previous object open
All these attempts were dead ends and I still cannot update my pc. It continues with 80070005 error. I would appreciate any help on this matter.
Kind regards

My system (Vista 32-bit SP2) tried to install update KB980248 for several weeks, but I keep getting error code 80073712. I tried to follow the directions on the site by running the system preparation tool update... did not work. Then I tried to go back to a restore point and try the update again. Yet once, didn't. I went back several restore points, but it has always failed. I don't have an installation DVD, because it came with Vista preloaded.
Help?
