  • No menu bar when upgraded to windows 8.1

I've never used Skype, but it came when I upgraded to windows 8.1.

I am trying to delete the history of the previose cats and it seems I can do thanks to a menu bar.

The problem is that I don't have a menu bar like I saw in the pictures when I was doing some research on this.

My question is where can I find the menu bar?

    Thank you

You use the 'modern' Skype for Windows 8/8.1. This Skype application has no menu bar, but made of the desktop version of Skype 'normal '.

    Hello:

I suggest that install you the upgrade from the DVD (authoring tool of your own from the link below - media Make).

    https://www.Microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/Windows10

The DVD will bypass the hardware checks.

Also, when you install W10 from the disk, skip verification of updates when you are prompted.

I upgraded from XP to win 7. is it possible to restore or use recovery and to go back to win XP?

If you did a backup image of your computer before you upgraded (really a clean install when moving from Windows XP to Windows 7) - then you are fine - you can restore that.  Backups are King.

If you do not have an image: you can still perform the clean installation of Windows XP - but all * not * maybe lost again...  You are likely to discover (or discovered) when you upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows XP - you had to reinstall all of your software - same thing on the other side, if you do it this way...

If you have a Windows.old folder in the root of the C drive...
How to restore a Windows 7 computer to a previous Windows installation by using the Windows.old folder

I think it's pretty much your choice.  You may be lucky lucky, can make the third.  Probably will take the second for various reasons.  Can learn from the experience and start to make backups regularly and periodically (and), contained in the first.  ;-)

HP G72-259WM Notebook PC laptop using, upgrade to Windows 10 and now the Snaptics pointing device lose vertical scrolling with a finger.  It is checked and the scroll box shows ok.  He worked well with windows 7 Home Premium, before the upgrade. I was not able to locate an updated driver. Very awkward not having no not this function when working with spreadsheets or trying to make the web pages of reading. Any suggestions?

Back to Windows 7, it wasn't a very viable option after using the half of my monthly data quota to get upgraded to Windows 10. Using the old driver works better and I quit using Windows Explorer (Edge) and use instead Google Chrome for my internet and scrolling works well with it. Problem solved.

  • Upgrade to Windows after the installation of Windows 8 8.1

After you have installed Windows 8 on a new computer, it must first download all updates of Windows 8 before moving to Windows 8.1. via the Microsoft store?

No it is not necessary, because they will all get wiped out when you upgrade anyway (the first thing what the upgrade does is remove your Windows system files, and then installs the new version).  So, it would be a big waste of time to install if you are just going to update to 8.1.

There is a single update you need before installing the 8.1, that is one who prepares the store to receive the update.  My colleague Richard Hay described on his website here.

  • Satellite Pro L40 - after upgrade to Windows 7, the FN keys do not work

    Hello world

I have a Satellite Pro L40 PSL4BE and have just upgraded to Windows 7. Since the upgrade I can no longer use the function key and the top and down arrows to control the volume. Keys F6 F7 & still control the brightness so I don't know the function key still works.

Anyone know if it is a driver problem or nobody knows how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Drew.

    Hello

You need to install the package of value added for Satellite Pro L40. This package contains all the necessary drivers for the FN keys. Then please install or update VAP if you have already installed an earlier version.
Here you can download: http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Can you confirm that FN keys work with installed VAP?

My school has me given an upgrade of Windows 7 Pro 64-bit because it is necessary for my program. If I run the disk to upgrade to upgrade windows, will be affected features improved experience? I am especially concerned by the optimized startup and its Dolby Home Theater.

    Thank you

    Hello
You upgrade form win7 for another "version" of windows 7. Thus, all programs will suffer anyway. More during the upgrade, the installer would say the compatibility of all programs.
