When you connect the USB cable on a HP Officejet 4500 desktop computer?

OK, you will understand that I am technically challenged. I look around the back of this thing and not been able to find a usb port. It takes a different usb port. This diagram in the manual is very cute, it does not show what is what. Some of us don't know a * beep * thing about computers but can follow the detailed instructions.

Is it possible that you can show what looks like this single cable or just go to the radio Shack, I hate this place.

You must have a printer like this USB cable.

I have a Dell XPS L702X running on Windows 7 Professional.  When I connect it to my Dell U2312HM monitor (using the USB cable), does not recognize it at all.  My monitor has a mistake about it, saying: now the VGA cable.  When I try to select the input Source, USB isn't even an option.  I tried to change the ports on my laptop, reboot with the connected monitor, making sure that all the cables are properly inserted.  Nothing seems to work.  Any help would be great.

    Daniel_hicks1,

You've lost me. You try to send a laptop computer VIDEO signal in the monitor through a USB cable? If so, it will not work. USB upstream cable connects from the monitor to the computer to activate the USB ports monitor downstream. To get the video from the laptop to the display, you must connect the VGA, DVI or DP of the monitor cable to the laptop.

I get the message "this device could better work with usb 2.0", how do I change 1.0?

To answer your question directly: you replace with USB 1.0 (most likely USB 1.1) USB 2.0 by the purchase of new equipment.

If you have a desktop computer, you can buy an internal with several Sockets USB 2.0 card.

If you have a laptop, you can get a card with 2 ports USB PC Adapter 2.0

Before you buy anything, however, if you have a desktop computer, it is possible that some (but not all) of your taken USB is 2.0.  Open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK), click on the + sign next to the category "Controllers of Bus USB" and watch the 'Host controllers' listed there.  If any host controller is 'enhanced' then you have at least one (and probably 2) USB 2.0 taken somewhere on the computer.

  • Cannot get signal when you connect the TV to HDMI port.

    * Original title: HDMI Signal

Hello. My nam is Kieu. I have a problem and and we hope you guys can helo me. I just bought a Gateway desktop all-in-one computer and tried to connect it to the TV via the HDMI port, but I could not get signal on my TV. Help, please.
    Thank you very much

    Hi David,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum!

According to the description of the problem, it seems that you are unable to get the signal when you connect the TV to HDMI port.

I will certainly help you with this issue.

Here are some steps that you can try in order to solve the problem.

Step 1. First you need a video cable to make the physical connection. For a better image quality, you need to connect the computer to the TV using standard VGA ports or via DVI to HDMI Cable provided your TV supports these ports.

Step 2. Open thedisplay settings' ' in your Vista computer and Activate the output to the TV screen. You can reflect the content of your computer on the TV or extend the display as a double screen control.

Step 3 Pick up your TV remote and switch to "External inputs" in the menu. You need to change the value by default "Video 1" to a different selection which may be "HDMI 1" or "video 2" depending on how you made the connection. "

Important: Make sure you connect the cable to the TV before turning on the computer, because sometimes it may not recognize the external display.

You may also change the resolution of your TV screen using the display settings in your panel of control remains the image may appear distorted.

Now you can take the laptop at best buy or Wal-Mart and get them to plug a power cord. This will give you an idea if you need to buy a power cord or not.

Again, you can always buy the power supply cord and if it does not return.

  • Satellite M30X powers off the power when you touch the USB port

Hello everyone, just registered and it is the first problem:
As there is no general hardware forum, I post my problem here.

I got it twice, my laptop
(Product: Satellite M30X, Version: PSA72E - 008010GR) just went completely off.

    Motherboard:

    NorthBridge: Intel i855GME
SouthBridge: (ICH4-M) of 82801DBM LPC Interface Bridge
    Motherboard model: Toshiba EAL20

    USB:

    82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) USB UHCI controller #1-3
    Version: 1.0

    82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) USB 2.0 EHCI controller
    Version: 2.0

I have the latest Intel Chipset drivers installed and Windows XP Home SP3 with all updates.

Once when I hit just the back USB ports with a USB plug, the other time when I unplugged my bluetooth key (climbing din't remove it).
There was no blue screen or message of any kind, not even in the registry after you start the system again or this fatal system error box when you start after a system error.

Just a total failure. But it works fine the rest of the time. I also tried to remake the script, but it didn't work.
I have cleaned with a vacuum cleaner to remove dust and has taken a good look, but saw no difference to the side track.
Maybe the clamps of the wand to shield a little more out to the contact pins on the rear.

What bothers me a bit, it's some time ago, I had the laptop one computer my knees and I forgot that a memory stick has been connected to the rear. The stick was pushed up and was slightly damaged.
Still works well. Now for me, that I broke the USB port Insider somehing.
I could not determine also the loose parts or unfirm at all.

Y at - it there, diagnostic software that measures the motto of the port or power problems?
I have a multimeter, fetch short-circuits with it?

I saw a package of drivers Intel for USB 2.0 over there, but I can't find it on their page, advice?

Thank you very much for your help, I just wanted to update my RAM and now I am not so shure if my laptop will last the next week.

    Hello

I put t know any diagnostic software that could analyze this question, I think that a technician of the ASP may be able to provide exactly this question results

    > What bothers me a little is that some time ago, I had the laptop and my knees and I forgot that a memory stick has been connected to the rear. The stick was pushed up and was slightly damaged.

I think this might be the reason why the laptop stopped while you touch the USB port eventually ports were damaged by using the memory stick, this could cause the laptop off

However, what we can do is to provide some suggestions and assumptions
It you want to know why this is happening exactly, then you need to contact a technician laptop for a control.

  • Satellite A60: Sound quality poor microphone when you use the USB phone

I have problems with the microphone/recording quality on my A60 including but not limited to situations when you use a USB phone. Talk to the USB phone produces a lot of static when it is used with the A60, which is not the case when I use another laptop.
The two laptops have the same VOIP software and "simplyphone.

Any ideas what could be the problem? Drivers?

Toshiba support suggests to see if a system restore will improve things, but I am reluctant to go there for a questionable result.

    Hello

I don t think that the driver update will help you. The operating system uses the simple common Microsoft USB drivers. I think we should get the problem somewhere else.

You can try to disable the power save option in-USB hub-> properties > Device Manager. I noticed that if energy saving is enabled on ports USB some external devices could not work with maximum efficiency.
In addition, you should disconnect other USB devices during the test the USB microphone.
I think that it of not impossible that some external USB devices might have a negative influence on the use of a USB microphone.

PS: I found a site interesting on tests of micro USB

  • Port Replicator III + very high CPU when you move the usb mouse only in W2k

Tecra M2 with a port replicator III +.

It is set to dual boot XP and Windows 2000 (yes I know it is well a bit but I have a bunch of stuff installed in win2k it is difficult to find these days).

XP is very good at 100%, but with win 2000 if I use my * USB mouse * on the * ports port replicator and waggle the mouse around - the * CPU * jumps from 0 to * 70 + % * use (System process that seems indicatates like IRQ problem). If I plug the mouse into the ports of the laptop (when the laptop is connected) - it's fine, no more than 5% cpu usage. It's a microsoft basic mouse. I really believe that this is a problem of usb any, because the cpu jumps a little if I type quickly on my usb keyboard (only a few %). It comes with the usb ports on all the Replicator.

Any ideas? I don't really want to plug my mouse in the morning because it beats a little interest to have a docking station in the first place! I have installed mobile extensions. All other aspects of the replicator are fine

    Martin

Huh it will not be easy to find the right explanation for this.
At the moment when Tecra M2 has been offered on the market as Replicator port compatible Toshiba offered Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III (no +) and at that time both supported in operating system has been tested with it.

Toshiba later designed Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III + and confirmed the compatibility with Tecra M2, but obviously with more recent WXP (at this time).
So now, you've been following situation: you use most recent Replicator port, but with much older operating system so I assume that there may be a compatibility issue with W2K.

I can't imagine use you so often with W2K and if so, may not be so problematic to connect the mouse directly on the cell s USB port.

Sorry, but I don't think that there is nothing you can do about it.
