When you try to install Quicken 2012 on my laptap receive a "Setup.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close." Have tried a number of corrections suggested by the seller, but no luck.

Uninstalling an older version of Quicken and all of its subfolders, used a utility of Quicken for clean system, deleted and reinstalled all .net platforms, tried installing using a user admin account and used the two install mode selective and secure, all with the same results. Seller now claims it's an operating system error, but I can not find similar problems in the forums.

Sorry, that I have no more insight to the problem install Quicken otherwise than to post in the forum of Quicken, be sure to include things that you've already tried.

As the msconfig error message is concerned, it's probably not related.  There is a service (IIRC, HP PML driver; see http://www.pchell.com/support/msconfig_access_denied_error.shtml) which causes this error message.
