• If you are connected to a domain, go to a local account.
• If you have an external equipment, attached to the machine, unplug them (example, game controllers, USB sticks, external hard drive, printers, peripherals not essential).

• The upgrade of equipment and installation of windows on Equium M40X

Hi guys,.

I bought a M40X-189 in 2005, which came with win XP Home Edition on a toshiba CD.

I don't know if this is common worldwide or for different models; but my installation CD verifies only that it is in the computer on which it was purchased with and then coppies an image disk pre-installed and pre-activated windows XP on the computer. I love what it means I don't have to use the serial key and I am not limited to 3 activations on my serial key.

The only complaint is that when I needed a CD of windows for fixing the computer (starting in recovery mode), this CD did not work and I had to download a pirated copy of XP home (I only it used once to start in recovery mode, and I never installed windows, so I hope that's ok).

Anyway, the computer comes with a Hitachi HTS541060G9AT00 hard drive (60 GB, ATA - 6, 5400 RPM, 8 MB cache, 12ms search) and I wanted to upgrate to a 250 GB western digital drive with the same cache, research, interface and rpm.

I was wondering will the CD still be able to install windows or he thinks that it is not the computer, it came with and therefore not let me install?

Hello

If you want to install Windows XP using not the recovery disc, then you will have to enter the serial on the right key.
If you don t have a serial key on the right then you will not be able to complete the installation of the OS.

With regard to upgrading the HARD drive:
I know you can use a 120 GB 2.5 IDE HDD for sure, but I don't very well if the 250 GB would be recognized due to the LBA 24 bit m.

I recommend you to choose a 120 GB HARD drive

• Dell inspiron 14/14R Touch - backup and recovery 1.5 not updated and I have windows 8.1?

Hello

I have a laptop dell inspiron 14R/14 touch screen. I bought recently. It came with windows 8, and I have upgraded to windows 8.1. Now when I run the backup program and recovery dell he says there is a compatibility issue and I need to reinstall it. Currently, the installed version is 1.5.0.0. However some other dell sites, it is said that compatible with windows 8.1 version is like 1.6.x.x.

If I open the software and click Update, it says no updates are available. If I try to manually download the exe and run it, it says I need to uninstall the current version first. I don't want to do it and then find out that somehow, I can not install the new version...

• Windows Update don't load/Windows Media Player does not start

On XP Home Edition SP3, the last week I not was able to get the Windows Update page to load.  There is no error message, IE8 seems to think that the loading of the page and there's code, but a blank white page in IE8. I discovered this problem after finding that Windows Media Player wouldn't start - again without error message.  I look in Task Manager, the wmplayer.exe process runs for a few seconds, then disappears.

I have run a number of analyses of malware using Avira Free edition (now uninstalled), Spybot S & D, MalwareBytes Antimalware, Windows Defender, and Microsoft Security Essentials with no result or change.

I reset IE8 to its default settings and now find that I can't choose a search engine or view other pages on the Microsoft support site, such as http://support.microsoft.com/oas/default.aspx?gprid=assistance--il displays only the banner from the top on a white page. (I write this using Chrome).

• Installation of Windows XP "Repair" returning parameters/files

[U] [B] WALL OF TEXT WARNING [/ B] [/ U]

A few days ago, my computer acted upward and gave a Blue Screen of Death, when starting from a Youtube video. Usually, I get the BSOD just crash my computer and everything is fine after that. This time the computer froze on the home screen and then gave a BSOD again and remained in this loop. Then I tried to start the computer in safe mode to do a system restore, is the restoration of each date of this week, no luck, gave me the same results.

The loading screen and watched welcome glitch-ey, the loading screen had vertical black lines running through it, the Welcome screen is frozen in a white checkered pattern.

My last resort was to 'fix' Windows Xp with the Windows XP disc it as usual. I did it and everything was fine, except that I got a new user account with zero parameters now even if the old user account files (except some desktop shortcuts have disappeared, which is very good) are still there. I then did the instructions of "appropriating a file" of:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;308421&Product=winxp .

Now I have control of the files, but before I have my hardrive not more with the 100 GB file moves from the wreck, I need answers to the questions.
1 move all the files to the new account will work or do I need to fix roads shortened to c:/program files after that?
2. I noticed the "repaired" computer doesn't even have Java in this regard, a ready internet connection setting and is not able to run any games-Will install all my old drivers, java + other settings for the router disc work?
3 are the only means of recovery previous state (files and settings) my computer 1 & 2 question or is there a simple copy / paste method?

Thank you if you've read this! Thanks in advance.

Hi Thatyou,

Since you have your previous user account files available, you can read the following article to set up the new user account.

Yes, reinstalled the drivers and other applications should help you to use the computer as we have.

I would say that you reinstall the drivers and programs. There is no way that you expect.

• Start the UCM 11 g and IBR on Windows Server 2008 when you start the server

Hello

I installed ucm 11g with an inbound refinery on a 64-bit windows server 2008. The AAU and the bovine infectious rhinotraecheitis are supposed to start automatically after the server is running.

1. I put the startWeblogic.cmd and the startNodeManager.cmd in the directory Autostartup. The weblogic and the nodemanager are starting very well in a denial of service console.
2. I tried to start the University Complutense of Madrid with the following startManagedWeblogic of the UCM_Server1 command. Then he asks me a username and password and then, he throws a java exception and the UCM_Server1 will not be started.

The current situation is that the weblogic and nodemanager starts automatically and the UCM_Server1 and IBR_Server1 must be started manually.

What is the usual way to start the AAU automatically? Can we establish some Windows Services?

Greetings
Brahim

The best way is probably a Windows Service. Here's the Oracle documentation on how to do it.
http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E12840_01/WLS/docs103/server_start/WinService.html

You can also try the Windows Task Scheduler. I heard that this works well (even if a Windows Service would be better).
