After the description looks like after installing the updates you can't access the Internet. We need additional information about this problem. Please answer these questions to help you best:

1. What antivirus do you use?

2. what happens when you try to connect to the Internet after installing updates?

3. the updates are installed on the computer?

Provide us the details of the update that you have installed.

For more information, see:

See the Windows updates are installed

Method 1:

After you install the updates, check if you are able to connect to Internet in Mode safe mode with networking.

Step 1:  Networking Mode safe mode starts Windows in mode safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network.

Check out this link to start safe mode:

  • Office can no longer connect to the internet.

When I uninstalled my Trend Micro Security software on my desktop, my link to my modem was broken.  See all my gear (and pilots), but my PC does not see the modem.  I checked all my internet configurations and their ok; but my DHCP is not enabled.

The desktop of my PC is connected to the modem via Ethernet.  The Ethernet driver extracted and extracted the modem (I'm able to use it with another laptop PC wireless).
I even installed a Wi - Fi USB connection on my desktop.  The driver is correctly installed, but my MS Network doesn't either.
I have ping'ed without success and when I type ipconfig in the command line, there is no INVESTIGATION period.

    Help, please.

Just to let you know, after contacting the representative of Dell, I solved the problem by reloading the operating system Vista.  It turns out that the OS has been corrupted.  Took me all day with the Dell rep and of course I ended up buying the software support.
Oh, I've changed my security from Trend Micro to System Mechanic software.

    Thanks for the help everyone.

  • I can no longer connect to the internet with my main computer. Help! Going on 3 weeks now.

Everyone is so great on this site I hope you can help.  Here goes:

I have 4 computers on my home wireless network.  Two laptops (Windows 7 and Mac OS 10) with wireless cards internal computers and two PC (Windows XP) with Linksys wireless adapters.  I use an Apple Airport Extreme (model A1254) wireless access point.

Three weeks ago, when Comcast Cable went all digital (I have my internet through them as well), I immediately lost internet access and wireless on all computers, printers and phones VOIP communication.

Because I was getting an IP address of 169.xxx.x.x on my main computer, I was ordered to replace my modem with a 1000BaseT model, replaced all with Cat6 ethernet cables and network card on my main PC with a D - Link 10/100/1000 Mbit / s.   Still no internet.

The Apple guy couldn't figure our why I could not connect then we changed my DNS to a public one and all computers, except my computer main, immediately connected server.  They are now set to obtain automatically and they are always connected.

When guys Apple plugged my ethernet cable from my main computer at the Airport Extreme, it wouldn't connect and I got a 169 IP address and no address of DNS server.  When they connected my ethernet from my Airport to other laptops working, they connected without problem and receive an IP address valid addresses.

They believe that some how the Comcast transition might have changed something with my internet on my PC using Windows XP SP3 since my settings and network settings had been basically the same for 2 years.  I have McAfee and Windows Firewall that I turn off when I try to connect.

When I look under connectivity in Information systems, I have 0.0.0.0 to my IP address, dns servers, and the subnet mask

Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks in advance.

All thanks for the reply.  I am happy to say that my internet is working now.  After many hours of call Comcast Cable, they sent finally someone who seeks not to "return the ball."  There was nothing wrong with some of my equipment.  A squirrel had climbed and chewed part of the cable.  So it was not much speed going through it, the line was good enough to carry pet food.  But with the upgrade, the damaged cable could not manage.  I had no problem since the cable has been replaced.

    Thank you all

  • After the installation of Windows Live Movie Maker, I can no longer connect to the MS Community

Original title: suddenly I can not connect to the Microsoft Community

I present this post on a second computer.  Up to a few hours, after I installed Windows Live Movie Maker, I can no longer connect to the Community MS on my other PC.  When I click on 'Sign In' to the MS Community Home Page, I get only a blank, even if his tab page says "connect to your Microsoft account.

I think the problem is in IE because I can sign correctly using Chrome or Firefox.

Can someone shed some light on this problem and we hope to provide a solution?

I have a similar problem on this computer and I am trying to solve the problem. I managed to connect to the Microsoft Community forums by opening Internet Explorer InPrivate browsing. This is only a workaround until I have solve the underlying problem.

PIN Internet Explorer in your taskbar, do a right click on the new icon in the taskbar and select start InPrivate browsing. You can then enter the web address of the Microsoft Community and it should open the community forum. If you click on connect, you will be presented with the Login Page. Unfortunately, please follow this procedure complicated, whenever you want to connect to the community.

On this computer I can connect to other services that require registration to the Microsoft Account for example TechNet. The problem is only with the Microsoft Community forums.  What version of IE are you using?

A suggestion if you are using Internet Explorer 9, 10 or 11.

Access your profile. Make sure that you have connected. Click all Threads, click on the star to the top right of the screen (you need to press F11 to see if you're reading full screen), click the scroll right to add it to Favorites, and then select Add to Favorites bar. Change the long name for something memorable, and you can immediately access your son in your Internet Explorer Home Page.

Many users have encountered problems to update their devices, their activation or signing into their account after updating iOS 9.3. Apple is aware of the problem and working on a fix.

Never, EVER use system restore to 'Cancel' an update, Service Pack, or upgrade of IE! Instead, uninstall the update, Service Pack, or the IE patch & reboot. If that does not resolve the problem, then try System Restore.

If not help to tweak the parameters of your third-party firewall, try the following:

    1. disable your antivirus, all modules of Norton (as applicable), a real-time protection provided by an anti-spyware application (with the exception of Windows Defender; includes the Tea Timer of Spybot, AVG AS guard.exe, SpySweeper guards, etc.), disable the third-party firewall AND THEN select Windows Firewall.

2 Uninstall "A security update Cumulative for Internet Explorer 8 for Vista (KB976325)" or "Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB976325)" viastart | Control Panel | System maintenance and (if you use Classic view, skip this step). Windows Update | Installed updates & restart.

    3 d - c #1 above.

4 manually run Windows Update and install important updates available (i.e. KB976325).

5 reboot & make sure everything in #1 above is on again and, if necessary, disable the Windows Firewall and enable (or reinstalling) your third-party firewall.
