Whenever I turn on my laptop, the system time is the same as when I stop it, how to fix
Hello
I have HP DV6 - 2130ca. I recently had a bug that were not work my quick commands. A support forum, I got to know that if I take my batteries for laptops and power and press the power for 30 seconds he'll fix it. Well, he got the problem solved but since then I am having a problem.
Whenever I turn on my laptop, time is the same as when I stopped him. For example, if I 'Shut Down' or 'Sleep' at 2: 00 and turn it on, to 17:00, the time would still be 14:00 on laptop. I tried Googling and found a lot of answers slightly different questions on several support forums by using the Task Scheduler to schedule a task to update time only every 5 min etc, but that did not work.
If I update manually time using time settings Internet, set time until I turned off my laptop or put it to sleep.
Please help me. Thanks in advance :)

Hi... interesting problem. I use my laptop computer on a desk with a second screen and moving.
The last time I was using my laptop on the desk, I brought an application (Quicken) on the second screen and now when I start it up it displays on-screen extended even if I use the standalone laptop. I can't demand because it appears in the second screen and I can't get it back to the main screen. I even rebooted and it seems to 'remember' where is was the last time.
Any thoughts on how to get it back (I know I can reconnect the second screen and move it back, but what about the time when I'm not near my office and want to access an application that was last used on the extended screen.)
Argh...
Thanks for your thoughts, I assume that there is a simple key sequence to make it visible on the main screen once I can't find it anywhere.
Kind regards
Lex GitterVery late reply, I have the same problem and I solve it hovering over the window you want in the taskbar when the preview window displays a right-click on it. Select optimize. The window will appear on your screen. No, you can enter the window and its size down, it stays on the current view

Startup Repair runs whenever I turn on my laptop. Why?
About 2 weeks ago my laptop froze on the loading/splash screen. Then I turned off and rebooted but when I turned it on again a screen popped up and said that my pc could not start and he started the Startup Repair. He said it could be caused by a hardware installation or software recently but I havnt installed anything new. He tried it to restart the pc to an earlier point in time when I was working properly. This succeeded and everything was fine, but now whenever I start my computer it must go through the Startup Repair tool and return to a previous point in time and I'm afraid that my pc is dead. What should I do?
Hi hppydude,

It's annoying, I tried to install without success. Pop - up said that it would turn off my computer. This notebook is a gift from my brother last week.
I want to just pop up to stop appearing. I'm not very computer savvy and don't want to mess up my new computer. My laptop that is running Windows XP 64-bitIf you Novatel Wireless devices, see about updating its drivers. As said by Kosh, look in Device Manager for any indication of missing or damaged device drivers and update.
Note:
I suspect that your brother had once a Novatel wireless modem attached, so ask him.

everything on the internet
I'm not sure that "everything on the internet" has to do with your topic, but it looks like your hard drive is dying.
Test the hard drive with a diagnostic utility downloaded from site of the disc mftr. or use SeaTools for BACK of Seagate. You create a bootable CD with the files you download. You will need a third party burning software to do as the free ImgBurn, Nero or Roxio. Burn as an image, not in the form of data.

http://Seagate.custkb.com/Seagate/CRM/selfservice/search.jsp?docid=201271 (how-to)Boot with the CD that you have done and do a full test of the reader. The physical tests fail, replace it. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

whenever I click on search on firefox that an add-in appears in the display
whenever I click on search, a supplement of 'new offer' for example; There is more, appears right in front of the screen;
I tried to disable add, etc. on preferences; uninstall, redownload and install firefox and the problem persists.
It is not the case with Safari...
Thank youI suspect it's an add-on, but unfortunately, your 'more system details' does not list the plugins or extensions, so it's difficult to suggest what you can disable or remove.
Try this:
(1) disable all basic, recently installed, and/or unrecognised modules on these two tabs:
Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Plugins category
Firefox orange (or the Tools menu) button > addons > Extensions categoryRestart Firefox.
(2) run the extension search reset:
https://addons.Mozilla.org/firefox/addon/SearchReset/
Who help me?
If the problem comes back when you restart Firefox, you may need to manually remove a user.js file or external software, but we'll come back.

Screen saver turns on and the keyboard or the mouse you want to start over.
I bought a HP Pavilion desktop computer PC p6-2016 and started to use December 10, 2011. It goes into screen save mode and won't wake up. The HP screen comes without office or on what I was working on. Some time it turns on and does not display Desktop. I have you turn off and on again (2 or 3 times) to operate. Help!
Make sure that you use the blue VGA cable OR white DVI cable to connect your pc to the screen. If both cables are connected, the pc can see the monitor as two different monitors, which can cause the behavior that you are experiencing.
