  • Firefox won't open Google without a mistake "this connection is untrusted", and no option to obtain a temporary certificate is available.

This problem arose for the first time a few months ago. but I managed to work around it by clicking on "I understand the risks" on the warning page "this connection is untrusted", then adding a security exception. This fix would work for the lengths of time, sometimes for days, sometimes for minutes. Now, after upgrading to the latest version of Firefox, I get the same caveat of security, but the option to click on "I understand the risks" disappeared. I get this error message on the page of technical details: (error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)

I have everything listed here repeatedly made: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/connection-untrusted-error-message
I tell everything. Remove cert.db, start in safe mode, clear the cache, delete and reinstall... Nothing works.

Your help would be greatly appreciated!

In Firefox, you must import into the authorities. The certificate will generally have a .cer extension.

    This connection is Untrusted

You asked Firefox to connect safely to www.google.ca, but we cannot confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect safely, sites will present a reliable identification to prove that you're in the right place. However, the identity of this site cannot be verified.
    What should I do?

If you normally connect to this site without problems, this error can mean that someone is trying to impersonate the identity of the site, and you should not continue.

This site uses HTTP Strict Transport Security (HST) to specify that Firefox didn't connect safely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

If you cannot inspect the certificate by "I understand the risks", then try this:

Open the "Add Security Exception" this URL chrome by pasting into the address bar of Firefox and check the certificate:

    • chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.XUL

In the field of location of this window, type or paste the URL of the Web site.

    • retrieve the certificate via the button 'Get certificate '.
    • Click on the "view..." button. "to inspect the certificate in the certificate display

You can check details such as the issuer and the certificate chain in the Details tab of the certificate display.
Check which is the issuer of the certificate.
If necessary, you can attach a screenshot that shows the display of the certificate.

I've just updated 18.0.1 last night and the problems began immediately. Even this site, I had to leave as an exception then when it loaded it has no color, no menus, etc. What is happening on facebook, some parts of the Amazon, etc. I get "this connection is untrusted" when I try to load gmail, connect to Amazon, trying to load this support page, etc. However I have no problem with google.com, wiki and other sites randomly. I need this problem as soon as possible, I have a deadline for my work and can not open my email to send files.

I'm tech savvy relativity, but by reading the forum on firewalls and such did not help me. I'm completely lost, panicked and three seconds away just completely wiping my computer.

Check the date and time of the clock on your computer: (double) click on the clock icon in the Windows taskbar.

What security (firewall, antivirus) software do you have?

Find out why the site is not approved (see technical details) and if this is due to an intermediate certificate missing then see if you can install the intermediate certificate from another source.

Some firewalls monitor secure connections (https) and send their own certificate instead of the certificate of the Web site.
