Where are my iphone photos?

Hello

I have an iPhone 6 with apparently more than a thousand pictures on it, but when I try to export these pictures to

my PC via Windows Auto-Play or Syncios, only a handful are

Support of Syncios says that the problem is that my phone only stores the thumbnails of the actual photos, but not the

full size versions... they say that my originals full sizes are on my iCloud drive (do not know if it is

on my PC or if it's the remote storage like a Photobucket/Drop box...)

When I connect the phone via USB and browse the content of my DCIM with Windows Explorer folder.

There is no visible photo file... I can't find THE photo files any on the phone

If this is true, where are my ACTUAL photos so that I can make a physical backup of them?

I have iCloud photo library on... Optimize the iPhone turned storage IT and load it on my photo power stream

Can someone help me with this? Where my original full pictures once I take them?

Thank you!

If you use iCloud as library with Photos of optimize on, then your photos are in iCloud. As shown Syncios, with pictures of optimized, you have photos of most of your pictures on your device. Given that iCloud library sharing pictures with all devices and computers if your did not use the option optimize Photos, it is likely that your device is not able to accommodate all of them.

So, once again, the original full-size photos are in iCloud, which you can access through the Photos app when you go to iCloud.com on your PC.

See you soon,.

  • Where are stored the photos?

I've just upgraded to the new Macbook with more 5 000 photos (after the ones I don't want the purge). I can't afford to move to an Icloud plan which supports this type of space. So I "disabled and deleted" my photo of Icloud download after having saved my computer to Time Machine.

My question is: if my photos are in the app Photos-are they only saved in the cloud or are they saved on the hard disk of the computer as well? When the 30 days, you get to download your photos - will disappear from my computer or will they remain?

Nothing is 'only' saved in iCloud - the default value is that iCloud is not used at all, because it is completely optional and if your turned on and then outside and if you have selected photos optimized on your Mac, you need to take action - it has the Mac download originals to the selected Mac then everything is there

You open iPhoto or News Photos for Mac?

If Photos for Mac comes empty, search for your iPhoto library. By default, it should be in your pictures folder.

Select the iPhoto library and drag it on the Photos icon in the Dock to open in pictures for Mac.

  • Explain the relationship between libraries, albums and photos in pictures.  Where are the images stored?

Looking for info on the relationship between libraries, albums and photos in the Photos app.  I can create several libraries containing photos and unique albums.  Can I put the same photo in libraries and the different albums?  By making a copy it creates a link to the original or a new photo?  Where are located the photo files?  When scanning photo to my Mac Pro files are placed in a folder structure, copy these photos in an album Photos using the original file or he places a copy in a database?

Bottomline, I'm frustrated by the method of collection, the albums, the place and date.  I want store related photos in a separate album.   Example: A library for a family, containing albums of members of their family. Maybe the photos have duplicate in different albums.

So I've recently updated my mac to El Capitan however was shocked to find when I open the new "Photos" App, it was empty and I couldn't open iPhoto as I need the most recent version that is not free and not available in the United Kingdom. Where are all the photos that I have uploaded to iPhoto missing and I can access it again?

The Finder, choose utilities go to menu, open the Script Editor and run:

the value the_string file (shell script 'by default read ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iPhoto.plist RootDirectory') POSIX have thong

If the_string begins by ": ~:" then set the_string to (path to the AsString home folder) & items 4 thru-1 of the_string

Tell application "Finder" to reveal the point the_string

This will select the library in the Finder. Run iPhoto Library upgrade on it or drag it to the Photos icon in the Dock as needed.

  • Photos - where are the originals?

I just started to try to tame the Photos (not easy after the habit of iPhotos events).

IPhoto migration was made some time ago, but I went to use iPhoto for a few months.

So, in the last two days I exported the latest events in iPhoto to records as events and imported these photos. I spent 2 days to put in keywords and placements etc so I could find them ok.

I then deleted the files (and emptied the Recycle Bin).

Now, these photos are in the Photos, but when I try to do something with them I get a message "pictures impossible to find the originals.

Then, where Photos put the photos when I import them? Are they not automatically imported in the photo library?

I always iPhotos and so lost no photos, but I want to know that all my photos in the photo library. How can I do this?

    Thank you very much.

PS. I do not wish to use iCloud streaming because I have more than 100 GB of photos and who would use the greater part of my iPad and more than all my iPhone.

Then, where Photos put the photos when I import them? Are they not automatically imported in the photo library?

I always iPhotos and so lost no photos, but I want to know that all my photos in the photo library. How can I do this?

Pictures has two ways to import. It depends on the settings in

    "Photos > Preferences > general.

If "import: copy items in the photo library ' is activated, the photos will be copied in the library.  If this option is disabled, then pictures will reference just the pictures from the original location.

Select this option and then copy the photos you deleted to the event folders, that you deleted, and then restart Photos. Select one of the pictures with the missing originals and when you receive the error message that the photos are missing, choose the restored original. If you're lucky, the Photo can re-establish the connection α all missing photos.

Once the originals have been reconnected, use the command "file > consolidate referenced...» ».  This will copy the photos referenced in the photo library, so they will be protected from accidental deletion.

  • What are the meanings of the iPhone Photos files.

I am struggling to understand the logic behind the records in the Photos of the iPhone. Unfortunately, Apple chose the worst possible name for its application, any research on 'Photos' results in millions of useless results. After an update of a system, pictures made several copies of existing pictures so that now my storage is full. I don't know how it works. For example, I tried to delete the photos in 'Selfies', but for some reason, it cannot afford to do. I tried to upload photos on mac, but now in Photos on mac means that the option 'delete downloaded photos' is absent, and photos can be downloaded from the "Camera roll" record, whatever it. It seems that I have zero control over the photos. What I want to do is to understand the logic behind the Photos from the iPhone, I want to remove copies of existing photos, and learn how to transfer photos from iPhone Photos to mac Photos.

How to use pictures, it works at all?

Photos made several copies of existing pictures so that now my storage is full.

Synchronize you the photos on your iPhone during a sync with iTunes?  Can't delete photos from the iPhone, if you are synced with iTunes. These photos will be deleted, if you synchronize again and select an empty folder to sync.

What I want to do is to understand the logic behind the Photos from the iPhone, I want to remove copies of existing photos, and learn how to transfer photos from iPhone Photos to mac Photos.

Photos on the iPhone and the Mac is now your photos in a library. This library is a database with several different views of the same photos.  The photos are stored only once, but predefined albums show you the pictures grouped by various criteria in order to access and find quicker.

    • Moments, collections, the years are grouping your photos of the site and sort them by date, oldest first.
    • All photo album shows all the photos, but sorted by the date you imported, so you will find always the more recently added photos at the bottom of the album.
    • The smart album 'Selfies' shows all photos taken with the front camera.
    • The panoramic album shows all the photos with extreme proportions.
    • The album film shows the pictures that were taken with the iPhone/iPad, transferred with My Photo Stream, or were recorded in the film, but not the photos sync with iTunes.

He has more albums predefined are special-purpose.  And you can create your own album to group your photos as you wish. Move albums in a folder, so you can more easily find your albums.  A photo can be in a lot of albums, but is only stored once. The albums do not need a lot of extra storage, because they refer to photos in the photo library.
