Where are my passwords

they have disappeared since I refreshed Firefox, they used to be in ' Preferences, now, nothing, not even a category called passwords.

You should find the passwords in the Security tab.

  • Firefox > Preferences > Security: passwords: "saved passwords" > "show passwords".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.

  • Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
  • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe

When you reset Firefox and a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, data form) are automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved on the desktop to a folder "Old data Firefox".
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, Pref.) that you have made are lost and must be redone.

If you have the "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop, then copy the files logins.json and key3db in the current Firefox profile folder.

  • Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
